that is a class, correct me if am wrong but on the contrary its a pseudo class, and that class has reuse and instanstiation when u call it with a tag.

Object Orientation is a concept my2cents,
and it states that u should not reinvent the wheel, you should encapsulate, you should inherit and you should get some polymorphism. The best part which is not applicable in the case above is an object should be the smallest distributable unit of any Object Oriented system.
Ok in my post above I say if we apply what Object Oriented design is preaching then we will get a template just like we get a library in java or namespace in C# or a helper in ruby on rails, then we check if it has all the features we want, if not we extend the template like we extend classes, then we now instantiate the inherited version of the template to build our own website then we host it.
so we apply "no re inventing the wheel", inheritance, and somehow polymorphism which all form Object Oriented design
hey its my way of thinking and I read it from no book. Hey I read the concepts from books but the way I am applying it here comes from no book, maybe I would write a book name " object oriented thinking" and how to apply it in web design, video editing, etc.

I checked the site and I must say you properly used the Object Oriented Concepts in that job. You got a free or paid template and u customised it and you got the the project done. Its a good thing and a bad thing to do if you dont know how to do it.
Ok I checked the source and found some tags you left there which had nothing to do with the site. My2cent may say I am Jealous but what Iam saying is when you take a template, use ur css skills to extend the template in OOP, I can say when u instantiate the template class from a professional designer, extend it to create your own class so that another person who takes that template and use on his site wont produce a site similar to yours. I hope other webmasters have learned a new trick to go about building good looking sites, with less effort. if you didnt get it read it now
SEARCH THE NET -> GET A TEMPLATE THAT SUITS YOUR NEEDS -> EXTEND THE TEMPLATE -> BUILD THE PAGES -> HOST THE SITE -> ENJOY
this way you will get professionally designed sites and no one will be able to prove if you used a template depending on how u do it :d

My2cent you deh make me laugh, I was trying to inspire Africans to start thinking big, and you rather think I was praising white guys. Men I want Africans to get big names just like Bill and the rest. You know he has been the richest man fo 12 consecutive years with mere software. And the best part of it all the softwares can be written in any geographic location with no difference. VB in USA is VB in Nigeria and accross the internet a Chinese/Indian will work for an African .
So I want to know who in Africa or on Nairaland can say look at my archievements and wait for me because I am coming up and all I am working up to dethrone google or Microsoft. I must say am proud about one of the posters (dababy208) because he gave some serious archievements like representing Africa in Asia and took it to finals, that is what I would always like to hear.
I bet you as the internet gets deeper into Africa those big Tech companies will come here to own the market, and its left on us to get something big to challenge them like baidu is doing in China against Google . So who is capable of making it big and is realy proud.

Hey buddy Open source is not for IT business men who are not developers them selves. So if you dont know how to write codes the best shot is get a developer who you gon pay then let him build the solution. either from scratch or using some opensource technologies which he or she gon customise.
Open source simple means codes that are free to use but it doesnt mean free software which you can use as a novice.
Thats why non tech guys to go into linux they rather hire developers who gon customise linux for them
hope u get that clear.
If you want to run a social network you can hire a developer and myself I have been building social networks too but I am on one right now and I wont be able to handle your job

its just simple, you want to upload to your site, and your site has ftp username and password. if you don't have it then login to your cpanel or ask your hosting company to give your ftp username and password.
punch them in the form and net2ftp.com will open a view of your hosting space(server) director and from there you can upload files into your hosting space

I think Rich Internat applications are Rich Internet applications, and if you say kirupa.com and actionscript.org are good resources for rich internet applications, there is no need saying insideRIA offers a wider range of technologies(since we are talking about RIAs). Kirupa offers, php, asp.net, flash, html css, apache and even windows, infact all you need to build RIA kirupa got it covered.
Talking about higher knowledge or something, your post is addressed to developers, helping them build RIAs but now you say they dont need to be developers(technical) to use insideRIA then why are they using it. its for developers so they need to use kirupa, and actionscript.org to fully go along in a developers community, something insideRIA wants to address.

before going to inside rich internet apps www.insideria.com I recommend you first use www.actionscript.org , www.kirupa.com www.ultrashock.com because you wont catch up if you jump directly withouth prior knowledge

if I get you right you wan to mask the url of your website. say you want www.example.com/page.html to show as www.example.com/page or www.example.com/template.php to show as www.example.com/template ,
if thats what your looking for then you have to learn how to configure apache on the site, this you can archieve using the .htaccess file. just google .htaccess www.google.com/search?q=.htaccess
and it will give you info on how to do stuff like that with the apache webserver

you and Joomla one man go kill eh friend. Joomla is good, but I advice developers to jump unto drupal www.drupal.org most modularised cms ever, and it makes your development more flexible, and besides it gives you SEO URLs with the default installation, somehting Joomla is not getting right. Drupal is prefered by most geeks, hence you will be in a community where god cms developers exists. I am saying this just to help because I use Joomla and Drupal depending on my client needs, but if you are not an expert start with Joomla then get to drupal later its a must

I love the design, the artistic work you did, it might not be good interms of design standards but it depends on your concept, thats why jazz music came to existence, you could do the design and explain why you did it and I start doing mine too. My life a flash designer I have seen soo many sites designed like that. So if you were to do a flash site from that design I will give you 80% success, but if its html, follow what my2cents said and forget cactus. When people criticise your work accept what you want, and reject what you dont need, and dont even feel bad about it.
on earth there are many mad people so u wont go arround arguin with them. you just have to go your way.
The final point is " THERE IS ALWAYS A BEGINING" so take it as your begining and ask cactus if he is a good designer ask him if he learned all his skills in one day, and let him know in the next one year you could be better than him

my2cent was not against me, he was simple doing what you asked, you asked of tips so he was giving you the tips.
the only tip I can give you is that you should learn Object Oriented Programming and the advantages then apply it to CSS, cos CSS classess are just like java classess or any OOP language hope u get me, that is how I take them and I dont have to cram anything else

there are many ways to do taht but I prefer going the Adobe way, if you have ever heard of the flash communication server, the radio station needs to license that software, then you code the server in Actionscript to read the radio card on the server computer and u build a flash audio player that will be getting the signals from the server. so you need both a client flash player and the flash communication server, to be its the most efficient in terms of streaming and buffering.
Or you can go the windows media player way study how to use vb.NET or asp.net C# to code stuff like that or you use python and winamp

the second two options are more difficult, get the flash communication server then learn Actionscript then build a radio station server

well I think you cant compare tables and CSS at all unless you specify, you can compare table in design and presentation with css in design and presentation, but I bet you CSS did not come to replace everything about tables, CSS is complementing tables, try to view the source of google search then you will see what I am talking about, unless you tell me Google is not King of web. anyway some people want to be more strick than w3c but in ever rule ther are exceptions tables will always exist on the internet till the end of times.
CSS is good but table is still there so CSS is not better than table but better in designing than using tables to design if you understand what I mean

well Paypal may not directly accept nigerians but you can still have a paypal acount while in nigeria
if you have a relative or friend in South Africa or any country that PayPal accepts. you can use thier contact but first you must trust them.
you can use thier address and you keep the username and password and when the times comes for any physical transaction which rarely happens, you can then tell the relative to it for you, but most of the paypal stuff you will need can be done over the internet so that way can work
