lemme put it Straight to you, Russia CAN NOT fund a war without totally crashing her economy- Russia is struggling at the moment, abi you no know?
Even Israel is fit enough to engage Russia... America can comfortably keep a Naval assault running up the Mediterenean for over 2months without Allied effort and they'd still be America.
Do you really think any of the former Soviet countries are going to stick their necks up or play pseudo socialism for Putin?
All this one sef na noise, Russia will not even engage anything with the US if the US strikes Syria, Putin is not stupid to go head to head with a country that spends 10 times his annual budget on War Financing at this time.
Assad's going down period.
Russia economy is not fast crashing, get your point clear, Russia economy is strong and you do not hear about them, because your slave masters always want you to see want they want you to see only. Let Israel try and attack russia, it was Hezbollah that got them crying the other time, they only went around to engage with innocent civillians in Lebanon. Putin have given Assad a full backing, China have done the same along with Iran, Saudi-Arabia, Qatar and Turkey is only deceiving Obama because they already have a plan b on their project which they do not even need to involve Syria.

American Economy is fast crashing. They do not show you that, at the end of the war, America will have no funds again and will have to resort to start borrowing funds, which makes them loose their strength.

Come to think of it, how many countries are on America's Side? Even Germany Chancellor have kept Mute, only Hollande who is not even sure of winning his second term is blabbing at the moment.

Virgin Finder: They have already said there won't be ground troops. Why are you guys so headstrong?

Financial benefits from attacking Syria?

Has the Syrian situation not gone worse despite int'l isolation or 'siddon look' over the past 21/2 years?

Has Assad won?

You are not bright!
So you are smart?

I laugh again at you. There is no worse situation about syria in as much as the military is taking back the stronghold of the millitant. Assad is winning the war if you do not know as key stronghold of the militants have been taken back.

The west is only crying foul because they are fast loosing grip of the battle. All in all, there is no way assad is going to step down. Did you watch him in his last interview? he called your president WEAK, he said "You can not defeat terror with peace, you can only defeat them with a strong hand, thereby you isolate them, which is what the Syrian Army is doing.

Even a US senator commended the Assad Regime for Protecting the Christians in Syria because christians in Syria makes 10% of the population which have been the main target of the militants.

Go and get your facts right
Foreign AffairsRe: Syria Prepares For U.S. Attack by mankand(m): 8:33am On Sep 05, 2013
X-factoria:
So you think that the US will attempt to sack Assad/the Syrian government without sitting down to analyze the chances and implications of Assad's backers - Russia, China, Iran etc forming alliances to attack them? You think they reason like Nigerians? What do you think they have been using their huge defense budget for? You think it has never crossed their minds that a day like this lye await for a nation of their stature? Do you ever think America is oblivious of the desperation of the Russians to achieve a balance of power since Ronald Reagan/CIA orchestrated breakdown of the soviet union?

Anyway, the reason Obama deferred the decision to intervene in Syria to the US congress was to have their inputs and satisfy the need for a high level deliberation because of the perceived possible escalation of the intended military action. The implications for the US inaction is grave. There is a compelling need to nip in the bud, the free use of chemical weapons/wmd in the middle-east. There are also huge and growing humanitarian concerns - about 6 million Syrians have been displaced since the war (I don't know where you got your 80% Syrian likeness for Assad from). There are also concerns for Israel if Hezbollah/Shiite Syria survives this or wax stronger. So please drop your propaganda that the Omar pipeline deal is spurring America to action. The US has been reluctant to act because Syria holds no economic benefit to them but the chemical weapon usage and the worsening humanitarian issues are of grave concern to "big brother". Excuses you may say but these are enough grounds for intervention. Everywhere in the world, the majority must be allowed to have their say. If Assad only controls about 30-40% of Syria as of now, he has no right to lay claim to legitimacy any longer.

If for anything the Russians are to be blamed for encouraging the Assad regime to hold on when the people are already tired of him and his government. From day one, the Russians have been arming the regime and helping them with intelligence for their own selfish reasons.

Let Assad resign, there will be peace in Syria!
I read your post and I laughed almost falling off the chair. You have been brainwashed with the cnn, BBC etc whose news have no value to me anymore due to false flags and propaganda.

You claim the us need to intervene in order to save Syria, just like how they saved Afghanistan, Libya, Egypt? Egypt was wise enough to see it was all foiled by the West to plant a puppet to control them. Do you know it was obama's brother that formed the idea of muslim brotherhood in Egypt? Have there been peace in Libya after Gaddafi death, Nigeria is also on the same road.

Russian foreign minister labelled Obama to a monkey holding a grenade. You do not underestimate another party when you are not close to them. There have been glaring evidence that these guys are alqaeda, hilary Clinton said it all cia created alqaeda to fight Russia, there are lots of financial benefits if there is a regime change in Syria for the us. They do not preach democracy they preach tyranny.

Just keep watching Obama will not attack Syria, Americans are already protesting that they do not want military intervention in Syria, us soldiers are not ready to go and fight alongside alqaeda, everyone is now wise, I guess because bba is overbought have turned back to BBC and cnn, I pray ASUU should call off the strike so that you can focus on your study.

No point commenting on your post anymore

optimus-prime1:
your point exactly??
its because you dont know what I meant thats why you quickly posted an empty statement, let me enlighten you son;
The former USSR was a world power along with the US before the coldwar(1985-1991) that later led to the disintegration of the USSR under Gorbachev.
The USSR consisted of Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus, Latvia, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan the Baltics basically about 15countries.
But they fell apart because the system could'nt just work. Do you think Ukraine, Belarus or anyone of the former Soviets is going to stick its neck out for a war Russia dives into? When they themselves are trying to recover from previous aftermaths?
At the time of Joseph Stalin, Russia could go head to Head with the US why? Because They had the economic strength to Match the US (Dont you know wars cost seriioooous money?) they even funded space and Nuclear researches with ease and they had stronger allies eg Germany.
now Russia cant, because they have economic issues themselves, that is why they are not pleased with the US interfaring with the Syria case because they are making cash from selling arms to Syria and thats about to stop if the US intervenes.
Russia cant go head to head with the US this present day and everybody knows that, I'd be more scared about a Global war if China got directly involved.
Not like I'm supporting a war though because as it is, its a delicate situation, but I'm just letting you know that the Russia of before was a lot stronger than the Russia of now.
Dude you must be living in the world of lies and illusion. Those countries you mention still protect the interest of Russia. Do you know how much they get from Russia annually from aid? What happened when Georgia went out of way with Russia, even us could not save them. The fact that USSR does not exist means Russia is dead, I am just laughing here. Let's not pray for the war because America will regret it. The world have now realised who the tyrant is, even France, Germany are just trying to play along. European is in crisis, they have no financial strength to press on for war, Americans are already loosing their stand in Africa and even the middle east. China already took over Africa.

American Intel does not know the weapons grade in the Russian arsenal, whereas Russian Intel knows because they already planted eaves droppers in cia. American war is going to start from within
Foreign AffairsRe: Do You Support The Coming American War Against The Syria Assad Regime by mankand(m): 4:08am On Sep 05, 2013
Flytefalls: angry angry Naive?

For you: I do not support war or America. I support coordinated international relief/aid efforts as an 'intervention' for the >4million displaced Syrians who have suffered already. I am talking of food, water, shelter, medicine, restructure funds; basically up-scaling what the UN is already doing. I also inferred (@bolded) that even our humanitarian efforts (as interventions) could result in war in some future place in time- one cannot discount that fact. It was somebody's bright idea to help arm the rebels- we will pay for that. It's best always to stay ph7 neutral to avoid unnecessary future repercussions; but this stance does not bode well to those affected undecided.

We cannot offer security. It is not our place to- this is their civil war. But we can't afford to be seen doing absolutely nothing; which is what many Syrians in the UK are verbalising. Basically what this guy is now saying now that his government have voiced their displeasure at military action: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-23942037
Goons so you still read and believe BBC? They are all controlled by the West. The world is bleeped with people like you if you really want to know what is going on in Syria, make friend with people living in Syria.

I was reading through the posts and was never interested to make a comment until I was forced to make one now.

Most nairalanders are just kids or have no idea of international warfare and lastly they have no idea of the Western propaganda even they don't know what is happening in Syria. If the us decide to attack Syria then it is their luck and the aftermath they should be ready to bear the consequences just because of a pipeline deal small Qatar wants to handle with Europe, Obama is fooling himself.

For the record 80% of syrians love as sad, there was never a protest for him to step down, there was only a protest in reforms, the West hijacked the protest paving way for militants to start killing Christians, Muslims and others against their own views.

There is no way Russia is going to back down from assad because if the us have its way, Russia and Gazprom will be greatest looser. Russian forces are already mobilised, Obama does not know what he he dragging himself into because the middle east is already boiling looking for the perfect time to take a revenge this war is not going to be like Iraq because Iran never supported Iraq, it's not going to be like Libya because Gaddafi made a wrong friend sakozy, it is going to be a battle to remember because the middle east have gone underground making research perfecting their technology to bring America down.

Americans will be the greatest looser because their hard earned money is been used to finance war.

Go and read about the syrians army (saa) you will know how relentless they are and ready to defend their country, they have the strongest forces and are the front forces in the middle east they are expansion to Egypt as well. Mind you Egypt is in full support of Syria, China and Russia are giving assad full backing along with Iran.

The world will be ready to witness something that have never been witnessed. Nigerians in America should start finding their way back home if they love themselves.

I am out. Peace

All these because of 2015!!!

And renovating existing airports which was never his idea, claiming to have achieved.

PoliticsU.S 'backed Plan To Launch Chemical Weapon Attack On Syria And Blame It On Assad by mankand(op):
Leaked emails have allegedly proved that the White House gave the green light to a chemical weapons attack in Syria that could be blamed on Assad's regime and in turn, spur international military action in the devastated country.

A report released on Monday contains an email exchange between two senior officials at British-based contractor Britam Defence where a scheme 'approved by Washington' is outlined explaining that Qatar would fund rebel forces in Syria to use chemical weapons.

Barack Obama made it clear to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad last month that the U.S. would not tolerate Syria using chemical weapons against its own people.

According to Infowars.com, the December 25 email was sent from Britam's Business Development Director David Goulding to company founder Philip Doughty.

It reads: 'Phil... We’ve got a new offer. It’s about Syria again. Qataris propose an attractive deal and swear that the idea is approved by Washington.

'We’ll have to deliver a CW to Homs, a Soviet origin g-shell from Libya similar to those that Assad should have.

'They want us to deploy our Ukrainian personnel that should speak Russian and make a video record.

'Frankly, I don’t think it’s a good idea but the sums proposed are enormous. Your opinion?

'Kind regards, David.'

Britam Defence had not yet returned a request for comment to MailOnline.

If there is any success the islamic terrorist has gained in this Syrian war, it will be the aqusition of the technical know-how on the making of biological weapons. And thier greater success will be to amassed as many sophiscated weapons as possible as soon Asad regimes falls.
In addition, i see the aquisition of chemical weapon as a game changer in thier quest to terrorised the globe. Moreover the knowledge of chemical weapons will soon spread to other terrorist group across the world including Nigeria.
Thumbs up for you

Foreign AffairsSyrian Rebels Used Sarin Nerve Gas, Not Assad’s Regime: U.N. Official by mankand(op): 11:06am On Aug 26, 2013
Testimony from victims strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin nerve gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior U.N. diplomat said Monday.

Carla del Ponte, a member of the U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, told Swiss TV there were “strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof,” that rebels seeking to oust Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad had used the nerve agent.

But she said her panel had not yet seen any evidence of Syrian government forces using chemical weapons, according to the BBC, but she added that more investigation was needed.

Damascus has recently facing growing Western accusations that its forces used such weapons, which President Obama has described as crossing a red line. But Ms. del Ponte’s remarks may serve to shift the focus of international concern.

Ms. del Ponte, who in 1999 was appointed to head the U.N. was crimes tribunals for Yugoslavia and Rwanda, has sometimes been a controversial figure. She was removed from her Rwanda post by the U.N. Security Council in 2003, but she continued as the chief prosecutor for the Yugoslav tribunal until 2008.

Ms. del Ponte, a former Swiss prosecutor and attorney general, told Swiss TV: “Our investigators have been in neighboring countries interviewing victims, doctors and field hospitals. According to their report of last week, which I have seen, there are strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof of the use of sarin gas, from the way the victims were treated.”

She gave no further details, the BBC said.

The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria was established in August 2011 to examine alleged violations of human rights in the Syrian conflict which started in March that year.

EducationBoko Haram Crisis Not As Worst As Nigerian Universities Admission – Don by mankand(op): 1:36pm On Aug 16, 2013
Third Republic Senator and Professor of Management, David Iornem has described the university admission crisis in Nigeria as a disaster worse than Boko Haram killings.

He also said the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) was designed not to set qualification for university entrance, but to edge out candidates due to lack of capacity of Nigerian universities to accommodate Nigerians aspiring to further their education.

Prof. Iornem who stated this while addressing a press conference in Kaduna yesterday, said, there was urgent need for a practical vision from the Federal Ministry of Education and the National University Commission (NUC).

While noting that the press briefing was called to launch his campaign for introduction of university colleges, as part of his gift to Nigeria on his 64th birthday, the professor lamented that, out of over 1.7 million school leavers jostling for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, only 500,000 would succeed, leaving a massive majority of 1.2 million stranded.

He said: “Nigeria does not need to re-invent the wheel in its efforts to confront what he described as a national crisis in the nation’s higher education sector.

“All we need to do is to copy and adapt what Ghana is doing. The Ghana model has dramatically expanded the carrying capacity of its universities and it is working,” he said.

Senator Iornem explained that United Kingdom was at a point faced with similar challenge, but solved the problem by creating opportunity for the establishment of small university colleges offering degree programmes in affiliation with established universities.

According to him, “when Ghana was faced with the same problem, they went to the UK and studied their system of small university colleges set up by independent entrepreneurs under the supervision of universities to which they are affiliated.

“Using the UK model, Ghana is now helping to absorb Nigerian students who cannot find admission in Nigerian universities. As I speak, close to 200,000 Nigerian students are in Ghana, studying at these university colleges,” he said.

Professor Iornem noted that, in the past, there was no need for JAMB to select people to enter universities and other institutions of higher learning.
