i understand how you feel about religion, as u said religion has caused a lot of problems and has given a lot of people excuses but you have to admit there are good muslims, christians, hindus, buhdists etc out there who just go about their normal lives without bugging anyone, and a lot of people also find peace and love in their hearts thru religion!!!

As far as Nigeria is concerned Religion is doing more harm than good. Obasanjo once said when asked about our nepa problem that nigerians should leave everything to god? (who as far as am concerned dosen't exist) He's just evading his responsibiliy as a leader. That is the problem with Nigeria when u talk to the ordinary man in the street he will say "e dey gods hand oh" or "only god can save us" Only Nigerians will solve Nigeria's problems no invisible man will come down from the sky to solve our problems.

I never used to bother with the religious section until i came across a topic by JeSoul called The Problem With The Atheist which to me was a bloody insult to my intelligence coz as far as am concerned i don't have a problem. But that topic made me realise that the reason why nigeria is not progressing is because of RELIGION.

The masses {or millions} will rather go to those big massive prayer conventions and pray for wealth health jobs etc. They think that an invisible man is going to come from the sky to solve thier problems. When instead the millions should just march down to Aso Rock and demand change. If change donsen't come then they should riot. Even if 50 or 100 of them get shot or killed its better you die for a cause instead of fighting the Hausas.

Thats the probem with nigeria over 95% of the population believes that an invisible man in the sky will come down and solve their problems. Until Nigerians stop depending on God and hold their own leaders to accountability Nigeria will never progress.

The Level Of hypocrisy Nigerians exhibit is indeed very sickening. The same set of People that lavish unjustifiable amount of money on trivial things like GSM Handsets, Cloths and shoes. And spend extravagantly as if there no tomorrow on events like marriages and birthdays without considering the plight of the poor, are the ones now raising an accusing finger at someone else.
