@banom,i guess he needs the jet to fly their money out of the country, besides since he drove 300km without fuel, flying across the atlantic without aviation fuel would'nt be beyond his reach,
As for education, the guy has a university, why isn't it free or affordable by the average nigerian?

Nigerians are so deluded how can they come here and defend a pastor who used millions just to buy a jet while his masses are starving

Hold on one sec,  Are these big time pastors actually worshiping God, modelling their way on Jesus or they are doing their own thing?

Jesus wasn't reported to own a horse - which would have been the equivalent of a horse during his time. Yet, here is one Pastor having a Jet. Jesus never wore "fine robes" which would have been equivalent of the "Designers" these Pastors wear every Sunday.

Jesus loathed the commercialism of church, yet on comparison  Adeboye's church and others seem to be running churches like a "Business center". There is just so much one I can say, but I wonder if the fans of Adeboye and similar Pastors will make an appropriate response to all of these comparison that just do not march up? smiley

The Level Of hypocrisy Nigerians exhibit is indeed very sickening. The same set of People that lavish unjustifiable amount of money on trivial things like GSM Handsets, Cloths and shoes. And spend extravagantly as if there no tomorrow on events like marriages and birthdays without considering the plight of the poor, are the ones now raising an accusing finger at someone else.

Why not take a look at the man in the mirror first.

Every true believer ought not to defend God remember Uzziah, he tried to support God but instead God killed him. God does not need me to tell Banom and his crew of haters that he called Adeboye as his servant.
Most of what we use to judge is rumours, who can produce a reciept of the jet he bought with his name on it. I dont want to start defending him, truth is, i know next to nothing concerning those things, and if Banom and his crew dont believe God can make an automobile to keep moving for as long as he wanted it to without fuel thereby not believing in Miracles, May God make them never to experience one. What u dont believe can not work for you.

To those who are the true saints of God and will not raise thier voice against a man who says he is called of God and lots of us though not being members of the church he presides over are witnessess to the fact that God has used him to bless us, let us not in anyway respond to this trend, let the haters go on.

Jesus told us to expect these things, if our Lord could be abused, beaten and nailed to a cross who are we. he said the world will perscute us, this is just it. Sooner or later, it will be me or some other true child of God, cos God is in the business of uplifting his people. For now, Am contending for the faith that works

All I can say is the bible states that "My PEOPLE PERSISH FOR LACK OF VISION" I hate to say it but I think that what naija is suffering from. Rather sad that one can spend that much money on a freakin plane yet their are members of your congregation that could absolutely use some financial assistance.
This is a case of "MISPLACED PRIORITY" like we continue to see in naija, one day each of us including the so called religious leaders will have to answer to a higher power.
All I can say is my naija people, it's time to open your eyes and see through the smoke-screen!! My .50cents or in this case my .50kobo

Hmmm Mister Christian Apologist even if the masses lavish unjustifiable amounts of money on Handsets Clothes Weddings and Birthdays its thier hard earned money so its thier choice. That dosen't justify a pastor {who is a man of god and preaches the word god} a reason why he should spend over £23 million pounds of the money he earned from the masses on a jet?

Isn't he supposed to set an example and feed the poor?

Hi 'Landers.

Once again, i repeat lets watch what we say or post here. If i have my way, i would remove this topic in order to stop ranchor and backering (among others) emanating from the posters.

Its only God who can judge. HE (God) only know his annointed and He made this known in 1Ch 16:22 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. Its been repeated also in  Ps 105:15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

What we may considers as 'Sin' here, may eventually lead us to sin if perhaps its not. The Bible says in Luke 6:37   Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.

Rathers, lets think on we can move this country forward.

All you people criticizing Adeboye are just being mischievous. The RCCG has million and millions of members Worldwide. Among them you have thousands of multimillionaire and even billionaires. So what is wrong if a group of these members decide to come together to buy a Jet for their pastor?

This thread reminds me of a biblical event in John 12:3-7:

3.Mary took a pound of very expensive perfume made of pure nard and anointed Jesus’ feet. She wiped his feet with her hair, and the house became filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

4.But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, who was going to betray him, said,

5.“Why wasn't this perfume sold for 300 denarii and the money given to the destitute?”

6.He said this, not because he cared about the destitute, but because he was a thief. He was in charge of the moneybag and would steal what was put into it.

7.Then Jesus said, “Leave her alone so she can observe observe the day of my burial, 8because you will always have the destitute with you, but you will not always have me.”

I argued a couple of times against the acquisition of the jet with my friends cos I thought the money could be used for so many other things but the way the poster presented his arguments is just wrong. First things first, there are some things u don't have proof of yet u say he's a sinner. Lets be slow to judge. I was completely lost when the poster started talking about promoting the yoruba culture by preaching with a yoruba accent. What does that even mean? How many foreigners do you think can detect an accent from a particular tribe of an African nation. Some of them still think we all talk with that clicking sound. If you want people to take you seriously, then present your case properly

1. Blocking of Lagos/Ibadan exprex way every month.

Among all the 7 so-called sins listed, this is the only crime Adeboye commits from time to time.
He doesnt owe anybody anything even if he decides to buy half of nigeria for himself.
The only losers here are poor and gullible nigerians who give almost the whole of their salary in the name of tithing only to go home and starve.

5. Subtle use of religion  to promote yoruba culture ( by intentional use of cleverly feigned yoruba accent to preach on TV)

I want to believe that the poster was trying to add some humor to his post on this one. grin grin grin

By the way a question for u. Did Pastor Adeboye mounted a road block on Lagos/Ibadan expressway or the road is not wide enough to accomodate the flow of traffic at this particular period? THINK!

I must commend you for asking reasonable questions. Don't be surprised that fanatics would be handy with stones, carry on with tenacity and relentless attitude as polite as you can.

I must also warn you banom that old saying that common sense is not common is very true, so dont be surprised when some people come in here with whacked out thoughts.

You really impressed me, you made me understand that there are some Nigerians who are not totally blind after all.

May God be with banom. Iseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee  cheesy

Choose your words carefully, am not saying ur a God hater but i guess the bible was talking of people like you when it talked of those who are not for us. the other side says they are against us. If you were in the time of Jesus, i guess u will belong to the class of the Far a SeeS (those who are too far to see) and the SAD A SEES ( Those who are too sad to see). The idea of the thread you started is simple, you have allowed yourself to be used by the devil and he will on the completion of his mission, fling you off, a filty rag as you would be then.
