I don't think that intelligence has anything to do with atheism. I believe its boils down to how open minded the individual is.

Just finished reading the whole topic from page 1. I find it hard to believe that half the posters here (especially thosethat post in the politics section) believe in witches & wizards. How is this country going to progress when we have politicians& our leaders to who am am sure hold on to similar beliefs holding us back?

For every fatal accident there usually about 10 or more near misses & unfortuneatly I was involved in a near miss last week Tuesday on my way to lagos from Warri our speeding bus hit the back of the bus in front of us then veered to the right onto the the grass verge where he managed to slow down his vehicle.

I see your point. Topics that tend to critisize Christianity (wether rightly or wrongly) always seem to make the homepage whereas topics that critisize Islam don't seem to make it. Well if u go to the homepage now & click on the FEATURED LINKS link you will notice that well over 95% of the topics chosen for the homepage are chosen my Mukina2 who just happens to be a muslim. So that may have something to do with homepage topic selection.

Stoneage man had to make sense of his surroundings that is the Sun, Rain, Nightime, other animals etc. Since we evolved with bigger brains so invented Gods & religion which helped make sense of their lives & surroundings.

Animals didn't evolve with bigger brains so all that matters to them is survial mating & passing their genes to the next genberation to continue the cycle of life

Christians will always post in Atheists threads & Atheists will always post in Christians threads so having an Atheist childboard won't make much difference.

THOUGHT FOR FOOD: Something struck me yesterday when I look at Tranparency International's corruption perception index - again: - Denmark, Finland, New Zealand tied in 1st place for least corrupt nations. They also happen to have the highest population of atheists in the world! Hehehe. That got me thinking a little bit.

Questions:
1. Is excessive 'religion' a by-product of ...excessive 'moral corruption'?
2. Does this mean that believers are hypocrites and unbelievers are not?
3. Does belief in a God make people very self-involved that feel invincible?
4. Does Atheism force a person to be accountable for their actions & does belief in good/dark forces exempt religious types from this?
5. Poor countries = high theism. Rich countries = high atheism. What therefore is the relationship between theism/atheism & the economy?

5.I ALL atheist countries were very religious at some point. Atheist countries can see & deal with reality while theist countries believe & even hope & depend on God to solve their problems
