I would've voted for Buhari instead of Goodluck if I was in Nigeria during the. Election but Buhuari being so ungratious in defeat, accusing PDP of rigging the elections & refusing to condem the killings of innocent southern NYSC students changed my attitude towards him

Persons outside of Nigeria who read the news item that N2billion (U.S. $12.5million) will be spent to build a house for Nigeria's Vice President in addition to other princely sums to be spent to build houses for the Senate President, his deputy, the Speaker and his deputy and sundry other officials, will think that these are the first set of such officials Nigeria will be having or that previous holders of these offices lived in hotels or under trees?

Far from it. Under our former rogue president, Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigerian rulers adopted a novel criminal concept of selling off official houses to their occupiers for peanuts and having to build new ones for incoming office holders every time new ones are selected (not elected)!

It appears these characters are very conscious that the contraption is collapsing and are doing their very best to loot all they can while they are still pretending to rule.

By the way, one really wonders what inputs our mercurial Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, and the Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, who recently suggested that half of the entire government employees in Nigeria should be sacked to “conserve money”, made or are making into the 2013 Nigerian budget which promises to be the greatest national heist ever perpetuated against any people anywhere in the world!

First of all you should be asking if God allows us to play the lottery. And assuming that the answer is yes then how dose he decide who wins? I mean here in the UK an ex convict who had served a prison sentence for rape was sued for half of his winnings when his victim foundout that he'd won the lottery.

Meanwhile, as started since December 2009 and promised to be done annually, the NAIRALAND SECTIONAL AWARDS is here again. Last years winner was Joagbaje
The first stage, which is starting on this thread, is the NOMINATION [/b]stage. It will last 2 weeks. At the end of the two weeks, (the last day being 17th of december) then the  three most nominated members will be up for a VOTE, which will also be up for two weeks, the winner of which is going to emerge the [b]OFFICIAL NAIRALAND RELIGION SECTION POSTER OF THE YEAR 2012.

CRITERIA:
-Quality of contribution - both comments and threads
-Sensibility of activities on the forum - perennial trouble makers will not be accepted, but stout defence of opinion or hot debate is no trouble making
-Sticking to forum rules - any person that has been banned or notorious for makng deletable posts will not be considered
-Level of activities on the forum - Though not a prime factor, more regular posters stand higher chance.
