Very good point. I always hear the testimonies of the minority who survived cancer or car crashes etc. They talk as if they did not expect to survive. Then next its to do thanksgiving (dash money to the pastor) |

frosbel: You accuse fundamental Christians of being intolerant, judgmental and hateful, while you foam at the mouth calling them freaking lunatics, ignorant, weak-minded, silly fundies, and hateful bigots.
Besides I have whipped your boys to bed. I am just hanging around here for fun You opened this thread just to look for trouble (because thats what you fun) . You have a deep hatred for athiests muslims and catholics don't you? Always opening threads just insult those who do not believe in the doctrine that you were born and bred into. |

Agbo2: Thanks so much for your reply manmustwack. The problem is no help is coming from church No one ever want to listen to his opinion anymore since he lost his job. Church should always support thier loyal members when they are in need. But if he discusses his issues with his pastor and no help is coming then I suggest you use your initiative and help him with gods money. Afterall man must wack! |
Christianity Etc › Re: Tempted To Assist A Family With God's Money (Tithe) by manmustwac(m): 7:19pm On Oct 02, 2011 |
Agbo2: I have a brother in my church who lost his job during the 2009 Tsunami experienced in Nigerian Banking sector. He has been out of job since then, his wife is not working too with 3 kids to cater for. Before the service started this morning, we spent 5 to 7 mins together and he let me into a little of what he has been going through and that his 3 kids are yet to resume back to school because they don't have any money to pay their fees.
I encouraged him as a brother to keep praying to God, that only God is capable of pulling him through all this. But come to think of it, will God come down from heaven to assist this brother in need? The money in my hands, isn't it God's money?
I am here asking for your advise because I ended up not dropping the tithe and I am still holding on to it hoping to give it to that brother to settle part of his children school fees so they can get back to school.
I would av loved to assist him from another source but wat i av left is not even enof for my monthly transportation cost not to talk of some other needs I am yet to meet.
Candid advise only please. the money in your hand is god's money (according to you) but what would do you think god would want you to do with it? Give the money to the church or help a friend in need? You really need to ask yourself what happens to the profits your church makes from tithes apart from the church expenses. If your church hepls its needy members in thier own ways then your friend should have faith in the church. Or if its one of those churches that only help thier members with prayer then i suggest you give your friend your hard earned money. Pray over it and let god give you the final answer. |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Problem With The Atheist by manmustwac(m): 2:25pm On Oct 02, 2011 |
toba: Nice thread.
There are some many problems with these folks. No one is born an atheist, this is for sure. RUBBISH! You can convince me that yyou were born a black male and into a yoruba christian family. But you yourself were an athiest at birth. WHY? Because you didn't know anything about jesus christ or the bible at such a young age which makes you an athiest its only when you started to grow that you learnt who was mummy who was daddy which tribe you were and taught the religion that you were born and bred into. Do you SERIOUSLY think that if you were born into a sunni family in saudi arabia that you would be a christian? Or if you were born into a muslim family in afghanistan you probably would've ended up fighting for the taliban pending your religious brainwashingtoba: And no matter how strenuously some may try to deny it, atheism is a belief system. In my unending argument with a Nl atheist, even after debating on a 4 page thread and giving him direct definition of belief, he gallantly denied the obvious don't you trust wikipedia? i took this quote from there? , atheism is simply the absence of belief that any deities exist toba: It requires faith that God does not exist. This it self is something u believe in and carry into almost every discussion. When an atheist says to me that hes certain that the christian God is a non entity, then hes affirming his belief in same regards. When dialoguing with atheists, it is helpful to point out the logical problems inherent in their belief system. Whether they accept or reject it, is a different ball game. smdh once again WHAT FAITH? You must be refering to religious faith More like science, archeology, geology technology and history. I have faith that if i put my clothes outside on the washing line (in this sunny weather) that they will dry by tonight and i can then iron them against work tomorrw morning. I also have faith that if i hold two dices in my hand and keep throwing tem on the table that it will only be a matter of time before i throw two sixes. And i also have VERY STRONG FAITH THAT SUPER TOTTENHAM FROM THE LANE ARE GOING TO BEAT THE ARSENAL THIS AFTERNOON BY AT LEAST TWO CLEAR GOALS!!! |
