I have lived most of my life in london and have never ever come across an athiest giving out leaflets or knocking on doors like Jehovahs Witnesses.

First off all it is not well. Secondly what you have just been through is very unfortunate but then how can you have these bad feelings towards your wife when it is not her fault? You both need councilling or to see an agony aunt.
