TheNoble007: Calm down.... Do well not to fall into shams that most men put beautiful young ladies in the name of GC.... Especially our fellow black men... If you get a PhD funded offer, do not hesitate... That's the sure route to EB2 NIW for those who are wise...
You seem to agree totally with everything I say lols.. Can either of us send a Pm? Chibertha is not a small madam to fall for that. She has 13years industrial experience before even leaving for MS, so I believe she can't fall for that. Lol |

Thanks NOTE: I studied Computer science Are you looking for funding with all these exceptions or you will pay from your pocket for school fees?. Moreover, computer science MS with no GRE? There are schools anyway for your criteria, try use usnews.com to search extensively. |

LeoGJB: Hello everyone!
I recently got admit for PhD at a US university with assistantship. But I'm still expecting other decisions. So I don't wanna be hasty in accepting the first offer. However considering the struggle to get dates and all, I would like to secure an interview date. Someone hinted me it's possible to do that without an i20 yet. Kindly point me in the right direction on how to do this, if it's possible at all.
Thank you. Accept the offer first. Request for I20 and start looking for date. If a better offer shows up, you will cross the bridge then. The school you think is so sure for admission might 'shenk' you. So hold the first offer well for now. |

Zihno: This school do not fund Masters students ( Please correct me if I’m wrong). They also require you to secure a supervisor before you’re admitted into their PhD program and they need official transcript evaluation and GRE score. This is not true. I have friends here doing MS with funding. Depending on your department. Another thing about this school is, apply and get admission, there is a site where they post vacant GAs, try and monitor the site to apply for GA on time once posted. But you must have been admitted before been able to apply for GA. |

Phunmmielurlar: Thank you so much for your response, although i do not intend to attend the school when i get there, do you think there's any way i can get a visa approval for this or do i start looking into other options? If I get you well, this is the only school you applied to and you have the mindset of just getting visa and not going to school. Not like you want to transfer to another school right? This is one of the reasons some genuine students get rejected at the embassy. Unless maybe you have a plan to transfer which I doubt you will. |

Phunmmielurlar: Good day every one I got an admission offer since August 2022, for masters study into the UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE for Fall 2023 (which is the only school i applied to because the offer came in the following day) but with no funding and the total fee is $55k which will be paid by my uncle who is a customs officer, and on my i-20 the ending date is May 2026 (approximately 3 years) so i was speaking with someone (as per getting visa appointment date) and after some questions the person said the VO might have issues with the fees and not approve the visa because paying $55k seem a like with the current exchange rate (I wish i can find someone to explain this to with VN and screenshot), this has got me really worried, and i don't know whether to start looking for other schools or still try to apply for the visa first
Really looking forward to getting responses. $55k COA annually is a lot. Does your custom officer 'Uncle' make that in a year? Are you his only responsibility? Why will he pay this if he has the money? Try and apply to other schools and see if you can get funding. What is your Profile like? What course? With funding, your visa application will be easier.. |

DAramis: My small question is this:
is there anyone schooling in University of Georgia? I logged into my profile now, and saw that my application has been decided, but they are insisting on me to pay the application fee ($100) which has been pending.
Is there a way Someone can get information on the admission decision without paying going by the fact that the app fee is lot of money. I have already sent email to them today which hopefully they will reply by Monday or Tuesday.
Lastly, does it worth it paying for pending app fee for some pending schools by 3rd week of February? That is when I could raise money to pay for those schools (Ohio State, Purdue, and Oklahoma State ) Lol. My naija pal. No one will tell you the admission decision, maybe you can try contacting the Grad Coord, he/she might just give you a tip about the decision but I doubt. Best |

YoungWizard007: I studied Mathematics and I would like to have a second degree in CS and if not then I'll go for Ms in CS
And again the one most likely for full funding
Any advice on the matter? Hello, please apply for MS and not for BS. I don't know your age, what will you tell the VO for just going for BS now? Also, as regards funding, mathematics is well-funded, and the competition is less compared to CS. You can find your way around your goal when you get to the US. If you have GRE with a good GPA, I am very sure something will come up. All the best.. |

I have a HND degree and currently working at a financial institution. What should i do in order to increase my chances of getting admission and funding. My target is for fall 2023.. Should i proceed to do wes? Should i do GRE or GMAT. I will advise you get WES done. Depending on your program, the requirement might be GRE or GMAT. Writing this standardized test makes you more competitive for funding. |

Icesnow: Hi all! Does US Universities allows admission to be deferred? Thanks Yes, you can defer your admission. Depends on the stage you are in the process. Do you have your visa already? Also check out your school requirements as regards this. If you are funded, ask if you won't lose the funding. |

Donbigi2: For someone looking for graduate assistantship, how do the person go about it? Is it before applying or after getting admitted you mail the school? It all depends on school or some programs. Some program, assistantship will come with admission while some, it's a separate process entirely. Check the school website and also try and mail graduate coordinators to ask further questions you are in doubt of.. |

A very long read, you can stop after the Congratulations from the VO. So I have been denied twice in 2021 for MS Software engineering (zero funding). After the second denial, I decided not to go back unless something tangible changes in my application. So applied to as many schools with better application dossier( GRE, Duolingo, SOP Rewritten, Changed Recommenders, Mailed Profs) I got to the embassy around 6:10am, it's just 7mins trek to the hotel I stayed. The hustlers approached for stapling, told them I be veteran for embassy. lol
Interview proper:
The very beautiful lady, she just approved 4 F2s going to meet their Dad and husband. I jumped to her front and helped the woman carry her youngest son dragging not move. (Baba, move on time nah).
VO: Let us do your biometrics. Me: Alright.. VO: Have you been to the US before. Me: No, I have not had reason to. VO: What do you do presently? Me: I work as a software Engineer with *********. My duties includes Applications development, system analysis, coding, testing and deployment. (And some other functions with Jargons as the lady dey nod head dey go) VO: What will you do after completion of your program? Me: I will be picking up a role as Senior Research Software Engineer at the National Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. VO: Do you have commitment from this place: Me: ( Thank God for @Euler transcript, I quickly formulated something asking @Tumi if it's right yesterday afternoon) Yes, I have been in correspondence with a director at this place and I am aware PhD is the minimum requirement for this role, moreover with my years of Experience in the field coupled with the advanced skills the PhD would equip me with, I will definitely be employed. VO: You said National Center... Me: National Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics ( said it slowly while she types) VO: Are you married? Me: Yes, I am married to a lovely wife and I have an adorable daughter. VO: Will they be coming to join you? Me: Yes, my wife is presently engaged with her business but she will visit with my daughter and I will also visit them during Summer break if chanced to. VO: (Made a gesture of one, as in one daughter) Me: I said yes, one daughter for now. ( She types) VO stood up and went to bring blue papers and pink, I was like Mama, no do this nah, she went back to pick the white ones and said Congratulations, this paper will tell you how to pick up your passport.
Collected the white paper and left. |

EkemNgo: Pls bro I made a slight mistake in my DS 160 form and I have submitted. After filling my sponsor address which happened to be Canada address that ends with S7V 0G6 and then the space for postal code I was supposed to fill the same code S7V 0G6 even though it appeared on the address but its the postal code, now in place of that G, I wrote C. Will this be a problem or should I fill another form Hello Nkem, I am not sure that should be a problem but if you are doubtful about that, if you still have more than 72hours to your interview date, you can fill another DS160 form and then update the DS160 form ID on your profile at the CGI portal. But I dont think this is necessary. Regards |

Oale: Alright. I don't remember exactly how my interviews went. But I know that during the first interview the issue was funding. I had not secured a loan at that time and I naively thought that the financial letter from the school was enough (don't laught at me)
During the second interview the topic didn't even come up. But by reading transcripts here I understand that I didn't convey enough passion in my answers.
I'm better prepared now so I just need someone to roast me and make sure that I'm making sense and I'm convincing enough.
I would really really really appreciate.
Thank you in advance. |

Florence56: Good evening everyone. Please help. I'm trying to evaluate hnd with WES. I know I'll send my ND transcript together with the hnd transcript but In the process of creating profile on their website, I want to know if I'll only input details for Hnd alone or I will include details for OND as well (that means I will have details for two diplomas there) I'm really confused and I don't want to make mistake. Once you select HND as your education, automatically it will add ND as a requirement. So just ensure you give your schools for ND and HND the reference number from WES. Best |
