I believe you guys should learn to be patient. Investor funding is not cake-walk... and complexities of projects like these is not just your everyday "political" projects. Even if it takes 10yrs, at the point where the Sea Port is completed, the economy of Akwa-Ibom and of Nigeria will be boosted in quantums unimaginable.

Lekki Deep Sea port is ~96% ready. This is a project that was conceptualized in Tinubu's 2nd term, started by Fashola and all the way to Sanwo-olu. Lagos state government is now about to have complements of Industries clustering around the area. We are not like Europe or America yet, we don't have the deep pockets neither do we have the wherewithal. We just need to creatively and patiently get at projects like these.

The Lagos-Ibadan Rail line offers connects to the Tin-Can already. I think the Oyo State Govt. have not been proactive on the Dry-Port project unlike Kaduna State Govt. The size of the land allocated was too small compared to what was requested.... Kaduna gave enough land and already developed road infrastructure leading to the dry port.

Ibadan stands a lot to gain from Lagos in the future. They need a Dry Port badly. When Badagry Deep Sea Port is ready, access to Rail is already available on the Lagos Rail currently going to Okoko. I understand the FG is part of a Trans-West-Africa Rail and Road Project from Okokomaiko Lagos to Abijan where ours terminate at Benin Republic. The Rail can thus connect to Ido from Badagry....and all the way to Kano or Calabar.....

I believe you missed the point. This is not an FG driven project...just like Lekki Deep Sea port, this is a Lagos State driven project with partnership with private sector and FG.

Your retort should be directed at those states you mentioned why can't they embark on projects like this since they also have waters in them. Why have they not attracted investors in this area.

as I said earlier, the ACJA section 18 permits Law Enforcement (Police) to conduct a search and arrest without a warrant is stipulated cases

(k) whom he reasonably suspects to be designing to commit an offence for which the police may arrest without a warrant, if it appears to him that the commission of the offence cannot be otherwise prevented

Lagos has a GDp bigger than the whole of Ghana, yet the geographical area of lagos state is 3,500sqkm compared to 238,000 sqkm for ghana, I.e lagos state is 70 times smaller than Ghana. What that means is Infrastructure in lagos should be much better than ghana because there is less expenditure required per Sqkm.

But Lagos is the 5th Largest Economy in Africa...bigger than Ghana, so what's your point?

The OBJ Govt. did not approve the request.... and Fashola started the Phase 2 (Okoko - Marina) which Sanwo-Olu has progressed significantly. The Marina, Yaba, Agege, Ikeja and Sango-Ota Stations are currently in advanced stages of completion. That vision is very much alive....4th Mainland Bridge will soon start with Sanwo-Olu.

It is curious that someone with all these lofty visions that his successors are continuing is whom you tagged failure..... are you being cheeky, hate-filled, drugged or drunk?

Now to the issue, I believe this video was posted to buy more friends to the BAT team. However, my sole prayer is for God to give us the leader that will turn things around irrespective of the tribe, colour or language.

Everyone has the right to contest and vote; 2023 is around the corner. My fear is on the next president of Nigeria. How will he be able to conjure a magic to turnaround things to our favour because almost everything seems to have collapsed in this country?

Expecting Magic in itself is the first problem..... How do you perform magic to undo decades of corruption and mismanagement across virtually all strata? we need to be realistically manage our expectations.

The next President for me should focus on self-sustainability as one of the cardinal point i.e. We should produce our basic needs internally - Food, Products, Health System, Education and Industry. I want the president to drive SME growth and spread, focus on skill-acquisition and jobs; and sustain/ramp-up the current infrastructure (Rails, Roads & Bridges) projects

Unfortunately for many of these young folks, you lack depth in critical reasoning. Nigeria is grossly undermanned military-wise.....about 200m population we have ~230k in total in the military. Countries like Egypt, Algeria & Pakistan with less population and better Arsenal has more than double that number.

How can we have a huge unemployment challenge and then have a grossly undermanned Police, Army, Navy, Airforce, Customs etc.....

The danger of single-story or single perspective to issues is that it so blinds you from the big picture. This is more of an emotional than objective submission.

1. Each applicant "driver" will have to pay a non-refundable 17k to pre-qualify.. - Pre-qualification comes at a cost. An independent agency will be saddles with the process and someone has to bear this......

2. If the driver passes the prequalification stage, the driver will have to pay the sum of N1,845,500 which is to cover 20% cost of the vehicle, registration and insurance, advance rent payment, first aid kit, e-taxi licence and training.- This is standard....and it is not like Lagos State Government had some pool of cash to fund this 100%, they did in conjunction with Car Assembly Plant and Bankers; who wouldn't have backed the scheme if there is no standard proceedure to recoup investment in reasonable time and provide a platform for its sustainability......

3. Driver will remit 8,709 daily and compulsory.

4. Driver will still pay 25% of each trip like the normal uber commission.

5. Number 3 and 4 will continue without any hitch for 4 years and the car becomes driver's own.

6. Driver will fuel the car on his own.

7. Ibile holdings will handle servicing and maintenance through GAC motor
The above is just summary of the scheme.

Questions are as follows:�

1. If I am a driver and I have 1.8m, will I be fool enough to go and subject myself to all the above or get a good Toyota car of my own and register with already available e-hailing platforms? - - Well could be an option, but your current e-hailing platforms are saturated and also know that Govt may enable priority arrangements for LagosRaide and restrict other e-hailing platforms from operating in some places. Govt be give some reliefs to LagosRide to make it more cost competitive

2. If 1.8m is just 20% of the vehicle, that means the actual cost o the car is 9m even even if it's more than brand new who cares?- Have you considered wear and tear, maintenance and consumables? Most of the Uber cars I see around are suffering from one wheel problem or the other due to wear and tear and lack of maintenance. You find situation where Uber ride investment hardly last beyond the second year

3. Please multiply 8,709 daily by 365 days. This means in a year, the driver would have paid 3,178,785. Now multiply just 3m by 4 years and it follows that the driver would have paid 12m and worked for 4 years to own the car. Now, the car cost 9m and you will pay 12m over 4 years. - Bros, with inflation and other attendant costs, the car will not cost 9m in 4 years.....

4. If the e-hailing platform charges between 10% and 25% commission,why can't the scheme that is claiming empowerment not charge below the 10% at least? - Lagos State Government never promised Father-Christmas on this scheme. Empowerment does not necessarily mean they bear the costs of other enablers. Pray tell, have you considered sustainability of the scheme? How will they maintain a sinking fund to produce more cards as the year goes by....

5. The 25% commission itself will also affect the driver's ability to read the daily remittance of 8,709.- ...except you're referencing the survey and data collected, this is conjecture. The proponent would have collected data that shows that after all deductions, the driver still get's to make a sizeable amount as profit.

6. With the above, can one consider the scheme empowerment or slavery?

7. In my honest opinion, I will prefer to do nothing than enslave myself with the arrangement even if I don't have an option. Do you also know that if in the course of working under the platform, there is high possibility that the car will be withdrawn from driver in the event not meeting the remittance repeatedly for whatever reasons even if genuine?- this is the pessimistic defeatist orientation of a poor mindset. Someone else will get on the scheme and will be looking at opportunities to payout early enough so that his margins can increase....

So after two years or so of labour the car can be taken away from you & if you go to the court the main contract terms and conditions will be read to the driver and will be all efforts wasted. Sad that some drivers won't read the contract word for word and even some that will do will still accept because they just want to start hustling as the saying goes.- Why even will you want to get into a transaction agreement and the first thing in your mind is when you will not honour the terms of the agreement?......
