Abuja's role as the admin. capital has been realized. I see it as unnecessary and a waste of money, a white elephant project like the mil tower and many houses in Abuja. Many development projects in abuja have become abandoned. Many houses have been abandoned. There is no need for a building boom in Abuja as of now, that was the 1980s era when a lot of businesses located from Lagos.That era is now over. Despite the excessive money spent on Abuja, Lagos still remained the commercial/financial capital. I sure hope, the gov is not spending a single naira on that fake project. Also what viable use does it serve. It's just a waste of money. Eko Atlantic is trying to be the new financial HQ of Lagos, Konza city is trying to be the tech cap or Silicone valley of Kenya. Centenary city is even more ridiculous considering that it's supposed to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Nigeria. Building a fake artificial city is not a way to do so, Nigeria's accomplishment should be visible in its development. Develop the country as it is, not waste money on a fake city with no purpose.

I agree and disagree with you at same time, although your reasons aren't precise and cogent enough, I think that money should be used to develop the standard of living of the people, and also invest it into profiting areas of the economy like investing it into our health care system, education and building more industries as to reduce the problem of unemployment.

On the other hand, Infrastructural development is also very good, as a capital city that it is, I should serve as a model for the country and the whole of Africa, this very project would also make Abuja a small heaven on earth and attract more foreigners in a way which would build our tourism sector.

So in conclusion, it all depends on the capital available, this one the government is crying of recession, if there is surplus capital, then the government can invest in both or face the most important which I outlined in the first paragraph.

To me, I think the only way a foreigner would make it big here is to create a big investment which requires a good study of the area and what they may likely need/patronize cos the competition here is much, you can't stand or survive it unless you got too much money, as for small scale businesses...they are much here already, there is a large market and one would make it big if they bring in something new entirely which isn't well known, then subsidize the price, if it enters the market and people get to patronize it, you sure heading to be a millionaire in no time so in my own point of view, there are various opportunities but too much competition.

Reason many migrate to other smaller countries where the competition isn't as intense as to dominate the market there, you won't go to where you can't exploit..
