Romance › Re: Can You Live-in With Your Mother-inlaw For 2 Years...? by MariaGoretti(op): 9:41pm On Aug 10, 2013 |
Tolexander: i can live with her for as many as possible depending on the type of woman she is(not mama G type) though i don't think and pray to have a wicked and wack mother inlaw cos the family of my bride is one of my criteria.
It will be better having an elder if possible, mother inlaw to be in ones home to help in supervising our children most especially, parents that are occupationally occupied rather than looking for an house maid.
This is african for goodness sake.
Moreover, she isn't coming to be a rival to her daughter or son. 'moreover she isnt coming coming to be a rival to her daughter or son'... I sort of agree but how are you sure she wont be a rival to her son's wife or daughter's husband...? |

mitwitdot: One of the problems, is "FREEDOM". It can be abused n misused. Since you av state its your Family house, I think every member has a right to live in the house.
@maria-Gorietti, no attempt to derail your thread no problems, hon, as far its a fact concerning the topic. |

rhowly: ok o lol. forgive me for assuming research stopped @ "he fell like the walls of Jericho." Anyhu I applaud girls who can ask a guy out. It screams CONFIDENCE and yes the risk of rejection & presuppositions exist as with every other thing in life. But I think it'd be an immense loss to miss out on a cool individual just cos you're proud or got self-esteem issues. then again some guys just hate that stuff. been asked out twice; one went well for a while, the other I respectfully declined no probs..... I cant actually conclude with just one specimen....there are so many guys I will love to try that on....so many different guys. You can call that, ADVENTURE...! |

Tolexander: i don't really understand your question. Do you mean living in the mother inlaw's house or the mother inlaw coming to live with us? Actually, it was already stated (3rd post) but it seems you didnt read through..... I will repeat nonetheless. Can you live-in with your mother-inlaw, in your house, for 2 years? |

I actually meant, she, the mother-inlaw, coming to live with you and your husband or wife in your own house...even if its a one-room apartment.....? |
Romance › Can You Live-in With Your Mother-inlaw For 2 Years...? by MariaGoretti(op): 7:45pm On Aug 10, 2013 |
It was kinda funny how my mum popped that question.... I happened to be in the kitchen this evening, trying to make up something for dinner, when my mum walked in and was like: 'eh nne, mgbo, can you live-in with your mother-inlaw for 2 years? To be frank, I was so confused, and the expression on my face made her laugh so hard...and even increased when I answered,'doesnt she have a house..?'. We didnt really discuss such this evening, so I wondered where she could have gotten her 'jamb' qquestion from. 'Well, I heard it over the radio, so I thought I should ask to know your own view'...that was her answer to my wonderment.
So now, I am asking you (guys and ladies), whats your own view on that...? |

Syncan: "And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 12:8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong".
St. Paul in verse 7 talks about the lord taking care to prevent him from the terrible vice of pride(the bane of charisms), that precedes the destruction of the mighty (prov16:18). To Paul, God has revealed what he taught the apostles directly, taking him even to the "third heavens" etc,so he had every reason to be proud. Yet he had a "thorn", could be a physical health case, suggested by "in the flesh", or a spiritual defect, suggested by "messenger of satan",all the same, permitted by God,which constantly reminds him of his humanity and prevents pride from setting in. This tells of how loving, caring and watchful the good Shepherd is when it comes to His sheep.
Verse 8 talks about his countless prayers and pleading that God should remove this "thorn" from him
verse 9 The lord assures him instead; that despite this weakness being present in him,His grace will ensure that he does not fall into gravely displeasing Him, eg,through grudging impatiently (in terms of physical health) or falling into a deadly Sin(due to a spiritual defect). The more he realizes how human he is, the more he flies to God for help, who then supplies His grace according to his needs Verse 10. Having now been schooled by the great teacher himself to humility, he is more docile to accept insults, pains and hardships, knowing that the more he acknowledges his nothingness, the more his glory in the eyes of the God.
