Romance / Re: I Sent Her Out Of My House Late In The Night: Did I Do The Right Thing? by mariemummy(f): 4:53am On Mar 24
AyobamiOluwole:
So this girl has been coming to my place, eat the best food and all that. I've asked her if she has a boyfriend and she said no. I do give her money without asking her for anything on return because I could see she is not the lazy type and she is really hardworking. I am very much ok with finances and I see no issues with some of her demands.

Yesterday I called her and told her that I'm not happy and that I need cuddle only and not sex(I lost so much Dollars from futures trading that night). She later called and said she will come to my place for that reason. In my mind I was thinking this will go down as sex and all, but I don't really want sex.

All I just needed is someone to cuddle and get distracted with that's all. This is the only time I am demanding something from her.

So she came during the evening time, and later that night we went to supermarket and I got her something's to eat at home for the night. We got back home and everything was going well. We were both on the bed when I reminded her why she came. This is someone I've been doing quite a lot for without even thinking twice out of pity. She wouldn't give in and wouldn't let me know why she can't just allow me to cuddle her.

Mehn, from the loss I had earlier and all that, I got infuriated and called another girl telling to pls come over for the night. Then I told this girl to leave my house since she can be that selfish. I sent her out of my house around 10pm. She was telling me she doesn't have money to go home, I didn't care and I shut my door against her. Though I was scared letting her out on that road and that time of the night but my anger got the better part of me. It was later after getting over the whole thing I confirmed nothing happened to her from someone else.

Pls is there anything wrong with what I did?

Modified: Anger is a bad thing. I am wrong sending her away at that time of the night. This is probably the judgement I'll get 😔

Idikwa very wicked. And we wonder where our bad leaders emanate from.
Just imagine what you did.

Congratulations baby girl on destroying your sister's marriage. Accept the proposal. Happy married life.
What do they say again about 'what goes around.....'
NovesaTillie:
Please I need only matured minds on this.
It's a serious matter.

My elder sister and her husband were married for 5 years and separated November last year but not divorced yet, though the families have been trying to reconcile them to come back together but my sister's husband has been adamant about it.

I noticed that ever since his separation from my sister he started visiting my place and now it has become frequent. I allowed it because I see him as a brother but now I am starting to really enjoy his company. He has been helping me out with stuffs and still maintains his kindness towards my parents.

He proposed marriage to me yesterday and I have been confused. I will be 30 by February 2nd.
Should I accept his proposal?

Career / Re: Should I Pursue Another Federal Job Or Leave For Canada? by mariemummy(f): 5:29am On May 23, 2020
NDakota:
The career dilemma...

Many years ago I was where you are now.

I took the road less traveled. I settled for a career in Nigeria.

I got a job in a Big 4. Then moved on to an FMCG, where the perks are much higher!

On education, I got chartered, and I'm finishing an MBA.

On family, I got married to my best friend from University, and I just made my first baby.

Do I regret not moving to the US to join my mom, a US citizen?

I do. Every. Single. Minute.

Why? Nigeria is a very uncertain place to stay and thrive. You could be up there in the sky today and the next week you're back on the mud. In a country of many poor people, you run the risk of becoming a victim of crime due to envy...post COVID-19 it'll get worse.

Look at you at 30. You're dithering. You're pussyfooting.

Look at me at 28. I still regret the mistake my 25 year old self made. I'm pushing daily to leave Nigeria.

I want to leave, not because I'm broke in Nigeria, but the collective poverty in this country scares me...

Most crimes committed today are more out of envy and hunger than of greed.

If you can, please run. For your SAFETY!

If only I can like your comment a million time. OP, listen to him. If you have the opportunity now, flee. I am in the same system as you. Flee.
God be with you.

Babes, whatever we say to you here, won't change aa thing except you talk to yourself and say "enough is enough". You know your worth, don't allow any person treat you less. That your 40 years old guy is a commitment-scared type of person. In the next 5yrs still, he won't settle down not with you or any lady.

Please, value your self-worth and flee from that relationship and man. Do the talking - to-self, yourself to avoid 'had I known'.
Peace nne

It's no biggie... You can do your research
Few popular examples are spelling of Awka(Oka), Owerri (Oweri), Onitsha(Onicha) note 'CH' is a vowel sound in Ibo alphabets....

Nna forget it, I am sorry but you know nothing about the igbo alphabet. Igbo vowels are (a í ó ú - e ì ò ù). ch is a consonant letter of the igbo alphabet

BabaIbo:

Don't let that person mislead you... it's written and spelt Igbo. He is telling you two consonants are not spelt together, ask him how do they write Ogbuefi, Ogbuagu, Olugbo (bitter leaf), Ogbor, Okpa, Okpu etc.
He doesn't know anything about igbo alphabet but this is Internet where people claim to be professors.
If you pronounce it as Ibo in the midst of Igbos, they will look at you as a non-igbo.

Ordinarily, the way Ndigbo, Igbobuofu, Igboboy and other Igbo related topic is being spelt should serve as a guide.
Didn't you write waec, neco, newspaper etc or haven't you seen it on any official or important documents, check and see how it's written...
