PoliticsRe: Dehumanizing The Palestinians - By Ali Abunimah by Mariory(m): 8:43pm On Oct 05, 2007
I have a problem saying the land belonged to Britain. The way I see it, the land would belong to the first settlers there, if they still exist. I prefer to think of it as occuppied by Britain.

However, whoever it belonged to is not the issue. The issue is who has the rights to it now. The answer to that question as far as I'm concerned is both Palestinians and Israelis have claim to the land.

How can the EFCC have screwed up when the investigation and subsequent freezing of assets was carried out by the Metropolitan Police in London?
PoliticsRe: Killing Of Nigerian Soldiers In Peacekeeping Missions: by Mariory(m): 4:39pm On Oct 05, 2007
yemmight:
The recent killings of 10 solders in Sudan that involved 7 Nigerians solders raises another poor security of life of peacekeeping forces outside the country.

I don’t think Nigerian Govt is up to the task in providing enough kits for these solders, if it did, how come Sudanese rebels would not even think twice in attacking and kill up to 7 Nigerians? If they are stronger why can’t they tack other peacekeepers easily?

Though The President has described the killing as shocking & unacceptable. In my own view, The Solders should be withdrawn while investigation to the killings go on.
IMO everyone is to blame.

The AU for not putting enough pressure of the Government of Sudan to allow peace keepers more amour for protection.

The United Noise for not putting enough pressure of sanctions on the Government of Sudan in order to stop arming the Arab militia. Special blame goes to China for this one.

The Government of Sudan for arming and aiding Arab militias in their genocide against black Africans (even though those Africans are Muslims themselves)

Finally the Rebels who carried out the attack. Their time will come.

Afam:
1. Israel declared independence as a state while Palestine has been denied statehood hence PLO. As a state Palestine will be able to own regular army, negotiate with other states for arms and my their the whole dynamics will change. For now most of the arms are smuggled in by sympathizers.

2. Are you actually stating that the land belonged to Britain before it now gave part of it to Israel?

3. The content in bold makes nonsense of your position on the issue of the land. Or, do you know expect the people of Palestine to sit back and watch their lands being given to Israel by Britain?

The content in bold above goes to show 2 clear things

1. The area that was divided into 2 was the land of Palestine by the British, I believe this is well documented and you produced it yourself.

2. Considering the fact that the intention of the powers that be at that time was to create a jewish state in Palestine it is natural for the arabs to object to the creation after all you don't share something that belongs to someone without taking into consideration his/her concerns.
Palestine belonged to no one. Before the British it was ruled at one time or another by Hebrews, Egyptians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, and Turks. I'm not to sure but, I don't think Palestine is even an Arab word.

The Arabs caused this problem when they rejected the initial resolution and decided to remove Israel by war instead. It's kind of funny because if they had accepted at the time, Israel would be a much smaller country than it is today or will be when it withdraws from Syrian territory it currently holds.

@Afam,

Trying to have a civil conversation when you have a biased mind or a fixed mind set on an issue rarely leads anywhere productive. Maybe you should step out of the case and see it from a 360 wide angle. you might see that it is not all one-sided at all.
If only. I know I have tried several times to make the poor lad understand.

There appears to be a change in the way this report was written. This time they appear to be emphasizing that Nigerian investigators are working hard to stop this. The report also suggests that online fraud is global not not only perpetuated by Nigerians in Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: Northern Nigerian Killer Muslims At Work Again by Mariory(m): 1:12pm On Oct 04, 2007
Your senegalese friends are being economical with the truth. the key here is that in their country, 9.5 out of every Senegalese is muslim. If they went on rampage whom will they kill?

It is just like saying there are no religious riots in Saudi Arabia, it is because there are no christians to kill and the few that exist are busy hiding underground.

Look at nations where christians/non muslims are a sizeable number - Nigeria, Sudan, Lebanon!
Perhaps that's because the Saudis will come down hard on those who go around killing non-Muslims.

Since when have Christians been a substantial number in Sudan?

Amen! Or other sane Muslims for that matter.

Imagine this, Nigeria is under threat of sanctions and our Christian president goes to the National Assembly to explain why we should not be put under sanctions. And instead our leader begins lecturing other world leaders on the second coming of Jesus Christ, or on what to do to get to heaven. Would it not be logical to class such a person as senile?

While this is cleary another one of those threads that should be put in a shredder, I just want to add that the sect of Jews he meet in the US are the same sect that were in Tehran for the "discussion of the validity of the holocaust" together with white extremists. The same sect that like him (Ahmadinejad) believe Israel should not exist. Enough said really.
It's funny signing an economic agreement with a country that has little economic growth.During the Sani Abacha era,we signed such an agreement with them and I didn't notice any growing economic ties between the two of us since then.

Iran imports fuel and suffers regular fuel scarcity just like Nigeria. . . . birds of the same feather
Indeed. Iranians are getting poorer and are leaving the country in droves. Nothing wrong in signing an economic agreement with Iran though as long as it doesn't break UN sanctions.

I know your intelligence is little. It's a good thing that it is otherwise I would have been unable to translate as I'm not fluent in slowpoke speak. Thanks for translating.

@Afam
Now that your mongrel has cleared things up, let us discuss what part of my comment confused you. I will break it down into smaller, easier to understand sentences.

As for Iraq, the only people being 'humbled' are the Iraqi people. They are being humbled daily by suicide bombers, car and truck bombs.
What I tried to put across here was that most of the brutal murders you hear about in the 'Sunni triangle' are carried out by mindless madmen that call themselves Bin Ladens followers. This is reciprocated by their equally mad Shiite countrymen of the other militant groups.

This is the mindset I cannot understand. Yes the terrorists are sticking it to America by slaughtering Iraqi people. Really saddening that people who claim to be intelligent see things this way.
Here I was referring to people who say they are intelligent perhaps even objective yet decide to celebrate the mindless killing of Iraqi civilians by barbarians, as a defeat to the US (or victory to America's enemy).

You know, there is a reason why former rebels are now working with America to defeat Bin Ladens boys in Iraq.
Here I am referring to Sunni Iraqi's who after the invasion of Iraq fought against the American "invasion" but, are now fighting alongside the Americans because of what they see as unnecessary destruction of life and property carried out by Osama's boys.

*For those with quick fingers, this is not a general defense of US foreign policy*
I think this one was clear enough. For example, I will always regard the invasion of Iraq as illegal for so many reasons I will not go into here.
