To the best of my knowledge, a statement of result is quite different from a transcript. A transcript is a document that shows your TCO (Total Credit Offered), TCP (Total Credit Passed) for each educational session and your CGPA. So if you've a statement of result, you don't have your transcript yet.

2. This depends on you, either ways leads to the same result so it is what you're comfortable doing that is okay. So many people submit online and so many people also submit via paper route.

3. Oh well yes cos I think NYSC discharge certificate is an important document to submit along with your application. You can ask other people though but every person I've seen their timeline submitted their NYSC discharge cert with their application.

In a situation whereby MSc certificate is taking like forever to be released after fulfilling all requirements and passing all courses, transcript processed, but no certificate send to WES for ECA, can a letter from the institution suffice?

I am not sure if mine has changed yet because I used an agent and she's the one that checks my account. Will confirm from her though. I got to know about this forum after applying, if not, I would have graciously done the whole application myself.
Anyway, God will favor our applications.

I really do not think there is a plus for having a PR or citizen as sponsor, infact from experience, you have to demonstrate having strong ties back in your home country to avert being perceived as an economic migrant. In order words, it's always better to have your sponsor in your home country or in another country but Canada. My opinion though! .

Yes just go to the head office in Ijora and ask to see the personnel manager. Though not in CIC format. Just the standard introduction letter to the embassy stating when u joined, resigned and position u held. Also I am guessing you have one certificate of service they usually give when one resigns. Plus u can contact your then supervisor who can help u with your job description on a plain sheet and add his complimentary card.

Hello Everyone, been a while!

I felt this information will be vital for those planning to apply.

Got the info from a reliable source that cic gives open work permit for 5yrs if your passport duration is up to 5yrs, but could not share the info here cos I was not sure, until I applied for my open work permit renewal 3wks ago, and my application was approved this morning with 5yrs validity, expires same day as my Int'l passport.

If you are yet to apply, kindly renew your passport before applying, so the validity can be to the end of your passport, and the advantage is when your spouse finishes his/her studies, and apply for post graduate work permit (post graduate work permit will be given to her, and visitor's visa inside Canada will be given to you) you can still be working with your permit, until he or she get a job in NOC 0,A or B, and you can apply for a new open work permit, if you guys have not gotten PR already.

Also, for those already approved, and are in Canada or about coming, on your correspondence letter, cic said you should get a private health insurance, you dont have to buy a private health insurance, as you can get a health card if you are in Ontario or will be coming to Ontario from Service Ontario by getting a letter from your employer with the details below; and take the letter to Service Ontario,
-that the employee is working full time
-the Title/Occupation of the position
-that the employee will be working for the company within Ontario
-the start date of the employment
-that the employer intends to employ the employee for a minimum of 6months.

I wish everyone still waiting for cic approval and those planning to apply all the best.

You guys should be patient with cic, i really understand what it takes to be apart with your spouse.

When you come here, you will see that the wait worth it (You will become a millionaire in naira few months ���).

I am new to this forum but have read all the threads.
My wife got a study permit in June 2017 and has long resumed studies in Canada. We paid full tuition for one year and I am her sponsor.
I applied for a visiting visa for myself n 3 sons to visit her since August and only just got refused last week. I had an account balance of NGN4million. I added all evidence of employment etc as ties to Nigeria.
The reason for refusal stated was "Purpose of visit".
My wife is really devastated by this refusal n is affecting her studies as she has never been away from our boys.
She's also pregnant and due for delivery in March 2018.
So sorry for the refusal sir and I quite understand how it feels like to be away from one's spouse even for just 1day.
You should have waited for her to get enrolled in september before applying, not for visitors visa but for Open work permit, the refusal rate of visitors visa is very high especially for spouses. You are most qualified to apply for a spouse open work permit

My questions are:

1. I am confused whether to reapply for the visiting visa or just opt for the SOWP. Considering my wife's present condition I need to be with her as fast as possible.
Please apply for SOWP asap and let the count down begins, March is still very achievable as processing times around 20weeks
2. Should I indicate that she is pregnant in my reapplication? She already has health insurance in place.
I don't think it's necessary, our gurus can do justice to this
3. Also do I request for the GCMS for this refused application? How long does it take to get it?
You can request for gcms note if you're reapplying for visitors visa, but if you are opting for SOWP, it's a unique application.

Sorry, I guess yours is still showing the previous update of October 16,2017 while mine is for October 23. It's updated every 7days. Use a different browser, you will see the new processing time
