You have to explain things better for someone to understand to avoid mistakes and regrets.

Rather say you replied within the confinement of your knowledge. I know alot of people and myself inclusive that got admission with EPL addressed to a different school. Moreover, wouldn't it be wise to still apply to other schools irrespective of what is written on the EPL, would you rather have him getting different EPL for different applications. Have you checked the cost implication? Stop misleading people.

my question is, CAN I USE THE SOFT COPY OF MY ADMISSION LETTER IN MY MAIL AND A SOFT COPY OF SL for my visa application at the embassy, or do i have to ask my sponsor to send the originals....i don wanna take chances....

Soft copy of AL ? Yes. Soft copy of SL? At some point you still need the authentic copy to be sent to the German Consulate before visa can be issued. Infact your sponsor should find a way of sending it before your interview date-your best shot.

I think best time to block is when you have gotten visa interview date then you can go ahead and block and make sure you do so early enough so you can have a blocking confirmation for interview. Experiences with Fintiba has been the best so far. Others are not as simple and seamless like Finitiba for blocking and unblocking.

I lived outside Nigeria for years with permanent resident,
I decided to come home and learn this business and since then,
I will only spend 2 months outside Nigeria and come back waiting for my container...

The best part of it is that there are buyers waiting with cash and within 3 days you are done and off to your house awaiting next trip.

Note that you must bring out time to learn the business because everything has a sacrifice...

Won't you want to thank princejck, he has made some good points as well. Studying good courses in Germany and with lang and some skills lands u job faster than some "kind" of programs coupled with your good lang skills might still be difficult to get job after studies. Some job opportunities are somewhat reserved for German graduates( unofficial but that's the reality). I hope we choose wisely and make best use of our time.

You can try msc Global Software Engineering from Fulda Uni. Its quite comprehensive. It also gives you what the job market already demands, straight to the point.

Hello Bro, I just have one piece of advice to give.

Since you plan on changing your course, If changing to another MSC succeeds, that would be much better instead of re-routing to a BSC path. I am speaking as regards to IT & working in IT since I am also in that field.

One year is enough to pick it up & do considerably well if serious. Be it Networking, Project Management or Software Engineering. Apart from the basics which you need to learn from a classroom setup. IT itself is self learning, emphasis on Self-learning because most of the things you would learn is already online. From websites like Coursera, Udemy, Pluralsight & Udacity.

You have 10 years to study as a foreign student in Germany the last time I checked. A BSc will take you an average of 2.5 - 4 years (pretty sure you won't be doing studienkolleig), Unless you have already used 3 years to study MSc and still want to do PhD, so most time, people still have enough time. If you have the grit, you can even finish earlier ...and if the BSc is even IT, you will gather enough work experience before you graduate to make smooth transition into the main employment market. Personally, the only con I know is the "shame" attached, that is if you care though..

The issue here is our mentality, you left Nigeria for MSc, completed or half way done ...only to now switch to another BSc. .. you sef reason am.. how e go sound for ear? how you go take table am for friends/families back at home(in NG)? but the reality is, your life is your life, every other thing/body will follow you as soon as you take any decision. Switching, terminating or pausing programs is kinda new to our culture as it looks like failure but I know of non-Nigerians, Germans that have done each of the three.


If you are making a switch to IT.. you should prioritize applied science schools though..

@the bolded, this is my 3rd month in Germany, studying advanced materials analysis (course is a deviation from what I anticipated and research oriented) in a sch in the east of Germany with no student job prospect whatsoever. So u can imagine the scenario.

As for "shame" ish, me no care as it's my life, my career and I hope I make best decisions for myself now that I am some months old in German. I really don't care even if it's BSc path I re-route to now I have the opportunity and chance. Except there are IT MSc programs that are non consecutive for a Materials and Metallurgical Engineering BSc degree holder like myself then fine. (If you know any as such kindly let me know).

U mentioned considering unis close to or in cities/states with growing ecosystem, can you mention a few of the cities and also likely Informatics prog I should consider.

I have same thought after i went for job seminar where companies sent representatives and in all I noticed 70% if not more of the companies represented searched for candidates in I.T field for opportunities ( full time jobs, internship, working student etc). It got to me that opportunities abound in IT sector in Germany. Also, I know a couple of naija guys in my Uni undergoing their 2nd MSc and I felt why do MSc upon MSc instead of switching to a more 'marketable' field. I engaged some of them and feedback was "doing BSc again? & considering the duration". I seriously have asked the pros and cons of doing such and no concrete progress made. I hope someone with a broad view helps out and leme know the out come after u have met the advisory council. Regards

Don't do it if you know you won't be dedicated to the intensive course!.

Some people put their studies on hold to learn the language but at the end of day, they actually want to work full time.

It will be great if it's something you really want to do. The pro is that you will learn the language up to b1 level. The only disadvantage is that you might be tempted to work full time.

Hi Mates, can someone put me through on the pros and cons of putting studies (MSc. prog after one semester) on hold for about 9 months for intensive language classes ( to be held in another city). Contributions are highly appreciated, cos I recently thought; the lang. skill play important role in landing jobs after studies why not do as mentioned above. Let's rub minds.

I tried for Germany in 2016 and stuff happened. I was discussing with my friend the other day and he reminded me how I could have been in Berlin, probably struggling with high living cost and all, but when it God's time, I ended up in a state and vicinity that is way better for international students.
