I was headed to the Island for a meeting yesterday when I received a call that not only was the office inaccessible due to the flooding, key decision makers couldn't even leave their homes.

Logged on to NL, and saw the thread about the flood situation and recalled that someone called threebear was making a fuss about this a short while ago.

I know this is moot, but this is also for the young man @threebear who was ranting about Lekki being devoid of flooding issues and all that...

https://www.nairaland.com/3872504/lekki-flooded-after-heavy-rainfall/1

So, for those looking to move to Lekki, make sure you do have an SUV, and be ready for such big man/boy problems like this during the rainy season grin cheesy.

Oh... You might also want to ensure that you're mid-level management at the very least too. That way, you can at least wait out the rain before showing up to work. Otherwise, rain or not, you better show up to work, and on time too lol. cheesy tongue.

Hmmm... Even on the day of his remembrance, only few visited his grave. Says a lot about people and tells you why the only legacy you ought to concern yourself with is raising your family right. Not some nationalist idea, ambition or the relentless quest for often fleeting power.

Note to self: God, family, eternity over everything else.

So, while he was running for his life and trying to escape, he took notice of everything about the assailants ba? shocked Dino my guy wink cheesy grin. Looks like you missed your calling as a detective lol.

On a more serious note, are we sure Dino didn't orchestrate the attack to validate his claims of the so-called assassination attempts on his life?

Thus casting himself as the victim, disrupting the recall process and distract his constituents? These politicians aren't above doing anything that will keep them in power

Checked out your handle on IG... Looks good. Thanks for the information. My major concern is the bolded. Parts of the estate were flooded last year, right?
IsheriNorthGRA:

If you consider the traffic that is now eradicated, it's no more too far. You can follow @IsheriNorth on IG to see what Ojodu Berger looks like now and also pictures of Isheri North & the GRA.

And regarding flooding, it's raining tonight, get pictures of Lekki and VGC and upload and I will upload pictures of Isheri North by tomorrow.

So many people deal on hearsay and makes them miss lifetime opportunities. It's a thing you can come check by yourself. Except from when the people at the dam need ecological money from the government, then they allow the artificial flood which will be dealt with if not already.

I disagree with you, I lived in surulere and what I witnessed there is far more worse than what happens @ those areas

Don't be stupid and crass... And it's "places", not place seeing as it's plural. I currently frequent the Island whenever I'm in Lag for work/pleasure and am aware of the flooding situation, particularly during the wet season.

If you have no meaningful contributions to the topic, kindly leave the thread.

Lekki and VGC, Two very different place.

Gbagada phase 2... Where's that please?!
bunlizlaw:
Please choose Gbagada Phase 2. It's the best based on the conditions u listed. You will thank me later if u do. Gbagada all the way.
Properties / Re: Where's The Best Place To Live In Lagos Mainland? by markpenk: 5:08pm On Jun 11, 2017
Thanks bruv... Excellent suggestions... I'm inclined to follow your suggestions. Magodo 2 and Ikeja GRA/ikeja generally seem like excellent options at this point
PunditAfrica:
You have the money,, Ikeja GRA is best, it is close to everything that matters.. Next is magodo, cool and planned estate that has a unique prestige.. Then houses on Allen avenue, opebi, alausa, very serene wt proximity to businesses that matters and luxury clubs on Oba akran. Omole phase 1 is next wt quick entry and exit lagos access. Gbagada is a large "above average" settlement, big bussineses lyk yudala, Zinox, UPS have dia HQ dia and every neibourhood is tarred. Surulere is a mixed settlement, it has d upscale bode Thomas street, adeniran ogunsanya street, eric moore etc yet it has d pulse of ojuelegba, Lawanson, shitta etc bt the good thing is that as large as it is 90% of roads r tarred.

Pple don't actually know that yaba has London within it. Behind the noise of yaba market and the pulse of insurance companies are very beautiful foreign designed homes in yaba. I stumbled on that settlement not long ago.. I cut in somwhere on murtala muhammed way and behold, fine homes, beautiful women and serene cool environment...

So OP, ur pocket is all that matters, Lagos has somtin for everyone... Anthony, Maryland and palmgroove estate are also nice settlement on d mainland...

And if you vex, go to lekki, ajah, vgc, ikoyi, banana, Victoria or eko Atlantic!!
Properties / Re: Where's The Best Place To Live In Lagos Mainland? by markpenk: 5:05pm On Jun 11, 2017
Is this true?
Fiwasayo:
Surulere,there is power supply 16 hours a day,at least,where i live,it is secure,and it is a central location to other places...you can easily asses ikeja,the island,badagry etc
Properties / Re: Where's The Best Place To Live In Lagos Mainland? by markpenk: 5:04pm On Jun 11, 2017
Thanks Mzjin. Only problem with Ajao is poor power supply. It's why I crossed it off my list.
MzJin:

Congrats Sir......nice criteria we all love good stuffs. ......another thing u shuld consider is having ur place of work close, market,n church as well coz i bet the traffic is one hell u wont like to deal with on daily bases as well as dat of ur partner...then landlord's another important one...ensure u make tins easy for urself n ur sweet lady....all d places u mentioned are nice Ajao Estate i will prefer... Another option is the proximity to ur choice of transport terminals(e.g airport)..i wish u luck

cry... Removed Ajao from my list. There's zero power there. Found out about that when I was rigorously searching in January.

Do not accept any other place. the best place is Ajao estate...you see celebrities, make good friends and hang out with big people. nice location

Thanks for this. Should be useful to others too. I've been so busy I had to put the house search on hold. So, it's still useful now. I have revised my areas of focus though... No more Ajao estate. That place has no.light.

Well said... There's a saying that "he whom the gods want to destroy, they first make mad"... or something along those lines. This is what happens when the powers that be in your village decide to deal with you cry.

Usually starts with deceit (his scam), followed by arrogance (his replies to on whatsapp and here on NL), then sheer stupidity (the assumption that some "chairmen" will help pay off his debt), and then the inevitable downfall/penury that automatically follows.

rickkychidex111, if I was in doubt about dealing with you before, your actions have removed all doubts. I am now 100% certain I'll never buy any vehicle from you (I'm sure many others are thinking the same thing).

If you are wise, you'd do well to refund chidi2pus' money. Otherwise, you can be sure that your hunger is just beginning as no one in their right minds here on NL will do any business with you.

Chidi2pus, can you please publish this guy's contacts -name, phone no, acct name and bank details if possible. This is in case he decides to open another acct and change his moniker.

holusormi:

Your stupidity is amazingly legendary , make people help you pay for money wey u scam ? Upon all the Porsche and masseratti u dey sell , you no fit refund 50k .... Smh , agbero forming dealer undecided

Wise words from a very smart man.
GAZZUZZ:
Chai! This is not a family matter.

I hope it gets settled soon.

Word of advise to the accused, it is cheaper to refund than have a bad review on things like this. I cannot count the number of times I have refunded for parts, logistics and labour and still left client with already installed parts, because they were Not satisfied and still apologized.

We are not all perfect, there are times people supply us with wrong parts and out of trust we re-supply those parts without giving them a 2nd look, and before you know it issues like this could happen.

This is a very simple issue that can be fixed in mins.

Culture / Re: Emir Sanusi: "If You Don't Have Money, Don't Give Birth To Many Children" by markpenk: 11:31am On Jun 02, 2017
#commonsense... well said sir
247frolicboss:
The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has called on Nigerians to stop birthing more children than they can cater for.

He spoke on Thursday when Mohammed malick Fall, the United Nations Children’s Education Fund (UNICEF) representative in Nigeria paid him a courtesy visit in Kano.

According to him about 3 million children in Kano are out of school due to ignorance of their parents on their responsibility to their children’s educational up-bringing.

‘’for you to have kids you must make sure that the responsibility of their education, health, and general up-bringing both morally and otherwise are part and parcel of what a parent should do’’.

He said "it is not only giving birth to the child that matters, but how to take your responsibility as a parent to bring-up that child to grow and be a benefit to the society in general’’ saying ‘’if people are aware of this they will not even have many kids that they know they cannot take care of’’.

Exactly! This is how InspiredM started too. rickkychidex111 you can now see that people are beginning to associate/compare your actions with that of a well known scammer here. Do the needful o. InspiredM may have gotten away with it because his business was already thriving, but you may not be as lucky.

The only thing we want to hear now is that you and chidi2pus have reached a compromise, and you have paid him. Nothing more! Then apologize for any misunderstanding and show some humility and contrition.

However, if you want to keep arguing, just understand that you're bidding goodbye to future deals this platform would have brought you. After all, I wouldn't want you wondering about my source of income IF I approach you to buy an expensive vehicle. cheesy grin cool
