OKKO: I disagree with this idea you ppl are sharing that GEJ govt was corrupt and untrustworthy as at 2012 just less than one year after he took over power in May 2011. It is a fat lie. Ppl believe GEJ die that time...in fact it was attempt to remove subsidy that brought his political down fall.
There is always this usual/normal reaction against price hike of public utility...GEJ was politically naïve he consulted poorly, labour reacted as they are reacting now...but he allowed the opposition and his political enemies to hijack the protest.
Today PMB too has poorly consulted but he is lucky to have both labour, political jobbers, MURIC, "born to rule" and "sophisticated west" under his foot. He will escape unscratched. by 2011 jonathan was having his third year as president don't forget. by then his SS brothers too were confused why he hadn't done anything for them. Jonathan's destiny for Nigeria was to stabilise our democracy and he will be remembered for it. |

booblacain: How many Nigerian did you hear say that. Is it the Nigerians struggling on the street to feed, that can't even afford N100 to buy mb data for their phones. Some of you just talk with so much ignorance and insensitivity. You think the very insignificant population you meet on the internet represent the true voices of millions of poor Nigerians out there. it's very easy to sit down and accuse me of insensitivity to the poor some of who have a hand in their own situation. It was a man who was tired of oppression in Tunisia that caused the arab spring by setting himself on fire but we have people here selling their votes and future for a bag of rice or #1000. pls don't blame my enlightened self for saying the truth as it is. I was once a poor man but poverty is just a state of mind. |

medpren: Na today? Forget all the jamboree. One of thr biggest way the british makes money is by hiding stolen assets from nigeria, that's why the big for nothing useless crown must continue to exist. Even buhari's daughter flew British for 5 million naira. Only zombies can't see clearly. Disintegrate the country and the british will lose a major source of usual income from their royal niger company. you know you don't have to wait for an official disintegration just find your own way and Nigeria wam will not bother you again. countries like Liberia Congo and Chad will welcome you with open hands if you don't mind. |

Do you even know that inflation has attendant consequecies? Even if minimum wage is increased, the value of our currency will keep depreciating. This government is sick. emmygzy: see this one, how many people are government workers in Nigeria? Nigeria is mostly made up of artisans and hustlers. Even apart from that, the 18000, most states are owing backlogs of salaries. Fighting for minimum wage doesn't make any sense. Barbers, carpenters, bricklayers, pepper sellers ain't government workers. ok then let them fight for a better future. subsidy by the way shall never return. |
Politics › Re: NANS To Protest N145 Petrol Price Next Week by mars123(m): 6:31pm On May 12, 2016 |
Mohderry: An increase in minimum wage will affect how many Nigerians exactly It would only lead to inflation with jobless Nigerians feel it worst.... let the price reduce there is no good reason for this increment in my own view tho.... it is not easy to do business in Nigeria especially when government is involved. so what the government is doing now is to remove its hand from the control of the business of petroleum importation and distribution since it doesn't refine Nigeria's total consumption. Therefore there will be competition amongst distributors for cheaper sales which will reduce price overtime. In the meantime there is a sure banker that petrol will sell for far less before 2019. I am someone who naturally can endure for a better day ahead so I won't be joining you guys marching in the streets. |

Perhaps majority of Nigerians have been lying all along, looks like most were still buying at the official price but saying something else. I can't remember since January this year when I bought at the former official price of 87 hypocrisy everywhere... |

But I tell those foolish wailers that if Jonathan had fought the corrupt opposition APC then Buhari fights the corrupt opposition PDP. what will be the level of corruption in Nigeria today?
Nevertheless a fight against corruption has been initiated and we can only move up from here. |

He ought to cancel going to that summit because of Cameron's insult but the govt doesn't see anything bad in the statement after all. no...imagine a rich man's party, you just made a billion so you get to go. but you overhear him saying you among the poorest. you will want to go to the party to prove to him you've landed. That's just the scenario. But it will be foolishness for Buhari to go there and not make any statement because this is only the beginning. |
