I think it is simple, hard times bring out the real you

I remember when things were so hard my family members who know that I am atheist would say things like, "you better start going to church so god will touch your life" but since the trash bin I threw god in was already emptied and god recycles into a pet bottle there was no going back

Now those same people look at me with obvious confusion and jealousy and now say, "just because things are working for you does not give you the right to say bad things about the most high(apparently god smokes weed too), when bad things happen to you you will agree that god is real"

And I am like "bitch please"

it appears that the sheeples are confused set of homo sapiens.

Why is it that when so people are comfortable in life, they can embrace any philosophical or religious belief but during hard times, they humble themselves and embrace mainstream religion? These were people who were bragging and showing off their beliefs as if they are some intelligent folks.

Even some christians and muslims will be bragging about their God but in hard times, you see them going to native shrines for solutions and they were the same people disturbing others with their religion. When a christian has so much money, he doesn't take church or pastors seriously, he/she might be very proud and might not be attending church regularly. During hard times, this same christian will be running from one pastor to another.

Some who attend new generational churches will be disturbing me, but during hard times, they will go to the very deliverance churches whose teachings they condemn. Chai, what is happening here. They preach love but don't treat others well.

The one that burst my head pass is that some atheists have been reported to convert on their death bed. Atheists like me and those who have been involved in the religious hocus pocus don't fall for this. I have seen an atheist who suffers and starts suspecting supernatural forces. Are beliefs sometimes a luxury for those who are comfortable in life?

I discovered and I second with otemanuduno, that dreams are due to what you have in your head. Dreams are random and should not be taken seriously. Pastors are smart, they fill your head with all sorts and take advantage of you.

HopefulLandlord, do you have an idea who is closing down some posts? Since analice107 was exposed , she has been active on nairaland, replying every post against her. What a useless damage control. She might be the one closing down useful posts that brings her in bad light.
If she did nothing bad, why was the topic by otemanuduno closed? Even in this topic, posts are closed. analice107 is like a woman saying that she didn't cheat meanwhile she was caught pants down.

Religion is a facade of reality, if people can just be good no matter what, the world will be a better place. It may not be in ourlife time, but surely we did set the foundation for our future generations.

To every christian, pastors are holy and anointed men who are filled with God's power to help the church and perform a certain duty. What I want to point out here is that pastors have nothing mystical or temporal to offer you more than a poor atheist hustling in the streets. They are just like the common man in the sense that there is nothing special about them.

If they want to preach, they give you motivational speeches and coat them with god talk. Whether one likes it or not, church is a business, MFM, redeem, deeper life, winners etc. People don't get that it is easy to fake the "falling under the anointing", "receiving a word from god", and other nonsense. These pastors are good at psychology in the sense that they know how to manipulate and ginger people.

Raise the dead they can't, heal the sick and restore amputees they can't but still people see them as special. Not matter their noise, singing and so called prophecies, they are empty and not special.
