I was told to wait there until a man walked in and led me to my room. The place was beautiful, cool, serene and full of light. I also remembered asking the man about my younger brother, he told me not to worry about him.

There's a reason God told him to undergo the fast at that time, the angels that were waiting to bless him at the end of the fast have long gone back to their abode , defeating the purpose of the fast. That's why the devil tempted him and unfortunately he fell , so it's not necessary again. It's very possible that he would have conquered that weakness if he had totally submitted himself to God, the devil must have seen this and lured him back before he finished the fast.
If he decides to fast now , it should be because he feels like and not because of the previous instruction.
He should go back to God that led him into the fast and ask for the next step , since it's God that led him into the fast.
If God tells him to start the fast afresh, he should ask God for the grace to do so, cos the devil will likely come again with another temptation, cos he never gives up.
