Jackanda1:
Happy sunday.

The bible talks about hell and death been cast into the lake of fire.(Rev20:13-15)
This means every unsaved person is going to be swimming in fire for all eternity.

What about people who were unlucky to exist before the gospel got to their location? E.g people who lived and died before the gospel got to Nigeria.

What about most people in countries e.g north korea and other such countries who have little to no knowledge about christ?

What of people who were unfortunate(they're all going to hell) to be born into say islam, budhism, hinduism and other religious movements? You might say these people should simply convert to christianity just by hearing the gospel, but switching religion isn't that simple. They are plugged to their faith the same way you have been indoctrinated and plugged to yours.

What about other sects of christianity that aren't getting it right?

Are all of this people going to be thrown into the lake of fire recieving same punishment as shekau or Hitler for all eternity?
I think the question should rather be: when was hell created? Was it created same time as heaven? Or was it after Jesus went to heaven? When really was it created for the devil and his angels before humans were later considered as partakers.

God is indeed using Tinubu to deal with these shameless abgadorians. What kind of people will fight, curse and kill others because they want the Presidency only to be the ones to be looting food after their man became president? What a shame indeed.

Religion / Re: If God Truly Forgive Us Our Sins, What Then Is Karma? by marvrick: 11:55am On Mar 31
MadeINchenzen2:
The complete chapters of the Bible gave no insights or notes about 'karma'... Though the term 'karma' is from the Janism, Hindu and Buddhist religion, but everyone believes in it strongly... Maybe the Bible insinuated it when Christ said "He who kill by the sword, will die by the sword"... " What a man sows, he reaps"...

If we all agree with this (karma) why then do we ask God for forgiveness?v

Can one commit a sin and be completely forgiven by God and free from consequences?

Kindly help me with your insights. Thanks

Here are my thoughts
Sin is transpression of God's law. Once committed one is guilty of breaking God's law and hence is cut off from God's presence, grace, mercy etc. And that soul is doomed for eternal separation from God which is the worst fate for anyone.

Forgiveness therefore is an act of mercy God provides to save the doomed soul from eternal separation. It comes either with the consequences of the transgression (karma) or without consequences.

It is evident then that while one can and should bear karma whenever it chooses to occur, same cannot be said of forgiveness whose lack places one in eternal danger.
Religion / Re: Who First Saw Jesus After His Resurrection? by marvrick: 11:18am On Mar 31
jesusjnr2020:
Who First Saw Jesus After His Resurrection?

According to the Bible, it was a woman.

Mark 16:9-11 (KJV)

Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.

The woman's name was Mary Magdalene. She was the one Jesus first appeared to after His resurrection that He first sent to His church to deliver the message of His resurrection.

John 20:16-18 (KJV)

Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.
Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.

So it was a woman who preached the first Gospel in the church after the resurrection of Jesus, and it was Jesus Himself who sent her to preach it there.

Therefore anytime you hear any idea, doctrine or teaching which says that the woman ought not to speak in the church but to be silent, know that it's not of Christ, because according to the Gospels and Bible, Christ clearly permitted a woman to speak in the church, as a woman was the first person He sent to to convey the message of His resurrection to the church after He had resurrected from the dead.

Moreover, if you see a woman preaching or speaking in a church, saying that Jesus had appeared to her and sent her to deliver a message to the church, do not see it as unusual just because it's a woman and not a man, as a woman was the first person Jesus appeared to after His resurrection and also the first He sent to preach the Gospel of His resurrection to the church.

Jesus even rebuked His church, which includes His first eleven disciples, for not believing the woman and the others He first sent to them with the Gospel of His resurrection before He physically appeared to them, to illustrate how important the message He sent her to deliver to the church was to Him.

Mark 16:14 (KJV)

Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

God bless.

The Bible's instructions are clear and need no modifications. You err by presenting your own interpretation of events instead of God's clear commands as presented by the holy apostles.

You err by thinking that the church already existed at Christ's resurrection when in fact it would still take another 150days ahead, on the day of Pentecost. So it wasn't the church Mary told about the resurrection but Jesus's disciples. Take correction.

I'll advise you to stop wrestling scriptures to suit your opinion, you don't know more than the Spirit-inspired men that authored those books.

Crime / Re: My Experience In NDLEA Jail by marvrick: 9:30pm On Mar 05
You've got some talent in writing, I enjoyed every bit of it.

Your story reminds me of the first and only time I ran into the NDLEA chaps around 2016 or thereabout.

I had to travel down East for my parternal uncle's burial and I loathed the idea of asking village people where I could get weed. So I decided to buy a small quantity that I was sure would last me throughout three days stay over there.

So the next day, I set out early and boarded a bummer bus at Jibowu going down to Owerri. While the other passengers and I were waiting for the rest passengers to arrive and fill up the bus, I strolled out of the park and lit up a joint. It was stl dark and there were less pedestrians on the major road that housed the park.

I was already halfway through when the driver announced loudly that he was ready to roll. So I quenched the roach, put it in my breath pocket intending to smoke the rest when we get to Ore or Benin for a rest and some leg stretching.

The journey was very smooth, no undue hold-ups and the few checkpoints we came upon were those of mostly police and army just needing the usual driver's tip. Everyone in the bus was enjoying the trip as the driver who must have been a religious fellow was playing some sweet Igbo gospel music all the way.

We did stop at Ore but not to eat. The driver just wanted us to stretch our legs and relive ourselves if pressed. So we spent just less than five minutes making it impossible for me to relight my half-finished joint. We continued our journey.

As we were approaching Umunede in Delta State, we were on top of a hill coming down and the road spread out before us looking like a long, black, shiny carpet. I looked infront of me and I could see two other Hummer buses far in the distant front on either side of the road. As we got closer I could see another vehicle, a white Hilux parked in front of the Hummer bus on the right.

While our bus was about 200m away, a man stepped into the middle of the road and started to wave his hands at our driver, indicating that he should pullover. Every passenger started to, you know, started to complain in the characteristic manner we do whenever we sight these government officials. They were like,"wetin these ones want now", "we Don nearly reach where we go come down chop na im these ones want come dey stop us".

So our driver drove the bus to a stop at the spot the official who by now we could see was an NDLEA personnel directed him. We could see the passengers of the other buses gathered together and talking among themselves and we also saw four other officials with guns ready.

The fellow that stopped our bus came over and greeted our driver. Then he came around and pulled open the sliding door. After looking around the interior of the bus, he suddenly pointed at me to come down. Chai! My heart immediately skipped a two beats. At that moment, I remembered with horror that I had hidden the weed I bought in my backpack! My brain was still trying to find a way to avoid detection when the man inquired if I was the owner of the bag in front of me. I replied in the affarmative and he told me to bring it along with me.

I got down with my bag and he took it and searched it. He found the small weed easily because I didn't really hide it, just put it among my clothes. I wasn't expecting anything like this could happen. He then asked me why is the quantity so small? Didn't I have some more for them? I just kept mum. And then he searched my pockets and found the half joint. Then he laughed wickedly and led me away to their parked Hilux. As we were going, he looked back and told the driver to continue his journey.

That's how they pushed me into the back of the Hilux where I met another guy, probably from one of the buses we saw. My fellow passenger all came down with the driver and started to plead with the NDLEA men. They were told to continue their journey, that they have their man already. But they kept on pleading for my sake.

By this time, the initial fear had started to wear off and I began to find my voice which had left me the moment I was asked to step out of the bus. So I joined the passengers in begging the officers but they just laughed. After about 10minutes of begging, they took me to one side and told me that if I wanted to continue my journey with my other passengers, that I should pay N50,000! That was when I knew that I was in deep shit, infact I almost poopooed on my body after hearing N50,000 when all I had on me was just N6000.

I began talking to them gently while trying to negotiate the amount they asked me to pay. They insisted on the amount. Sometime later the driver came around and when he was told how much to release me, he also began to plead with them to accept a lower amount. At the end sha, they agreed to collect N20,000.

I had about N25,000 I'm my account. So I begged them to let me transfer the amount to them but they refused point-blank, telling me that do I want to implicate them? I told them that I have only 6k with me on hand. After more threatenings and such, they collected the money from me. Of course the weed was confisticated.

It was no small embarrassment when I joined the other passengers to continue our journey which was interrupted for close to thirty minutes because of error. I had to apologize for the delay I caused them and also thanked them for their assistance. And to make matters worse, there was this fine gurl that sat beside me that I was trying to befriend. Shame couldn't let me even look her again in the eye as I was doing before we encountered the NDLEA guys. I just relaxed back in my seat, closed my eyes and feigned to be asleep while thanking God from the bottom of my heart for saving me that day.

As soon as we got to the park, I was the first to jump out, immediately walking very quickly away from the bus while looking out for the next vehicle to take me straight to my destination.

Lesson learnt, never take unnecessary risks.

I pity most Nigerians who are largely illiterates and are all the time in a constant and unrelentless state of unawareness. Add to this their chronic disease of short memory and you get the true meaning of hopelessness in its rawrest form.

A couple of years ago, the world banking institutions were always warning us about how more than 80% of Nigerians were living below $1 daily. If I can remember the warning began during the Buhari administration and continued on until the clueless inglorious mannequin left the scene. When Tinubu came onboard, the percentage had increased to 90%! Yet, the clueless and ignorant horde of masses kept on as if everything was fine.

Today, can we honestly say that we're not living less than $0..25 per day?

Yes, since it's Nigerians are too daft to understand a simple explanation unless when accompanied or backed up with appropriate comparisons, let me make it very clear to you.
If since 2015, the World bank and et all were telling and warning us that more than 80% of Nigerians are living below $1 daily, how much below that are Nigerians now living?

Your guess is as good as mine. The honest truth is that everyone knows what to do to change the narrative but no one is willing to suffer or die for the betterment of the country including both the leaders and the governed. We are all waiting for the country to collapse finally and I don't blame anyone as it is the best posture to assume in this confused contraption that has never benefitted anyone.

I don't care whether you're Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa, even if you're middlebelt, Edo or SS las las everyone will go back to their enclaves when this stunted giant called Nigeria eventually ceases to exist soonest.

I agree that the Igbos are pained that you yorubas are supporting a known criminal and certificate forger. Is it their fault? Or you forgot how this same Tinubu used his influence to demarket Jonathan in 2015 and thereafter brought Buhari who you all have maximum support to inflict pain on all Nigerians. For your information, it's not only Igbos that were disenfranchised. The North as well are not happy with Tinubu and the SW.
You will do well to admit the truth: The Igbos have nothing to gain from Tinubu's failure but you don't have the right to condemn them after what you people did to bring in another disaster in the person of Tinubu to continue inflicting everyone (including you) with more suffering.
I am civil towards you because you were civil. Leave the Igbos and other dissatisfied ethnic groups. They have the right to serve Tinubu the same thing he did to Jonathan.

ogugwa1992:
Nigeria Suffering Insecurity Because Buhari Regime Failed To Rearrest Freed Terrorists - Omokri

Former aide to ex president Goodluck Jonathan, pastor Reno Omokri has said that Nigeria is witnessing increased insecurity because the past administration of ex president Muhammadu Buhari failed to rearrest terrorists who were illegally freed from penitentiary by other terrorists.

Recall that Tuesday, July 5, 2022, during the administration of former president Buhari, hundreds of terrorists on motorcycles invaded Kuje prisons and, according to reports, freed over 600 of the 900 inmates in that penitentiary.

According to Omokri, the Buhari administration never rearrested the illegally freed terrorists. He said consequently, Nigeria is suffering from that failure by way of worsening insecurity.

Pastor Omokri, who is also a best-selling author took a swipe on some politicians who were among the previous administration, like popular Islamic Scholar, Isa Pantami, saying they lack moral grounds to say Nigeria is facing worse insecurity under president Tinubu than under ex president Buhari.

Omokri said, in fact, that there was worse insecurity in Nigeria during the Buhari administration than the country currently has.

He said, "Jailbreaks, airport invasions and train bombings are now a thing of the past. Oil thefts have reduced, and our oil production has increased from what it was under Buhari to about 2 million barrels per day today. And no police stations have been destroyed in the Southeast since Buhari's inept regime thankfully came to an end."

His statement reads thus:

Reno Omokri

Can't you just see that you've been demystified? Just shut up already. Everyone knows you're empty. And in this piece they called you a pastor just to ensure the northerners won't forget this your thoughtless disparaging assault on their ways.
You're in for it, mark my words.

I will try and make this brief and please ignore the errors.

I was with my close friend yesterday evening. While we were chilling together, a call came in on his phone. it was his cousin that called telling what had happened and also seeking his advice. Now this is what happened, this his cousin has been dating this lady for about a year I think and he has already proposed to her and even took her to his parents and siblings. He also visited the lady family and did some introduction. Now April this year has been chosen for the wedding ceremony proper and a date has been fixed. This is where trouble started.

My friend cousin created a WhatsApp group for his wedding ceremony, he added all his friends and some of his classmates to this group so they can join hands and make his wedding day memorable. He posted his wedding IV to the group and some pictures of him and the lady, one of his old time classmate recognized her and immediately called him for a private meeting for urgent discussions.

He visited him the next day and this guy told him everything about his fiancée. How she used to be a stripper in Lagos clubs years back and how he and his friends had wild 3some with her. She used to base in Lagos as a call girl but relocated to Abuja and that’s where she met my friend cousin. After all these revelation this guy was in deep pain as he had already gone far with the weeding preparations. Of course his old time classmate advised him not to marry her, but this guy loves her so much and he is in a big dilemma of what to do next. As he thinking of leaving the country and go start life with her elsewhere.

Can such past truly be overlooked?

After my friend explained everything to me, I was just short of words but of course I advised he shouldn’t marry her. What advice would you give him in such a situation my fellow Nlanders ?

Ehn ehn? So your friend is feeling bad that his fiancee had the best time if her life when she was young. What about him? Did he remain a nerd all those years? He should forget that shit and marry her.

I have watched this boy from head to toe so I can see at least one feature in resemblance but I didn't see anything, not even from the mom, he's just totally different. The other kids are ok, two share a striking resemblance with their dad while the last took after her mom but with some of the dad features, so are you thinking what I'm thinking?

It's normal. It's a case of variation. Sometimes kids look very different from their parents due to recessive genes.

I have said it before, the Yoruba people are gifted and are the front-runners in Africa. I am an Igbo man but I no go lie Yoruba people are good. I love their language which can blend easily with any other language. Their easy lifestyle also is another catchment area. In short I love Yoruba people. I also speak their language.
