Christianity EtcRe: Why Are Nigerians So Religious But Corrupt? by marvrick: 2:29pm On Jan 11, 2024
Siberia01:
Almost everybody I know wakes up with different bible verses on their social media platforms. You see everybody going to their different places of worship, praying, crying ,dancing , shouting. Alot of others preach repentance.

Then I wonder, how come we have such a corrupt society?

Jobs are meant for a particular church congregation..

If your not a member of the church no job for you huh

You see politicians in churches and mosques
Who are the ones stealing this monies grin ?
Bro, it's not a rocket science why despite our religiosity our country remains perpetually backward. It's not the fault of religion.

The simple reason is this: Those other nations are more homogeneous than Nigeria. So they tend to be more likeminded and focused on the good of everyone in their society. They have an organic connection/link with their society/country. They own the country because they are the country.

Ours is a country begging for that organic connection with its inhabitants, with us but strangely we have always refused to give it. Apart from our heterogeneity which is a massive bulwark against any meaningful development, the system that holds the numerous differents tribes together is skewed very disproportionately against some groups of people.

Stop blaming religious people who seek God's solace due to their awareness of the real reason why Nigeria is not working. As we can never have a government that cares for our wellbeing, it's only natural and sensible for people to turn to God as their only choice.

Christianity EtcRe: Why You Must Repent Today, Even If You Profess Jesus by marvrick: 10:42pm On Dec 31, 2023
Onyiiobi7735:
The truth is that not everyone who professes Christ Jesus will make Heaven.
There are many gospel ministers who masturbate, fornicate, lie compulsively, steal from the church purse, engage in homosexuality and bisexuality, lesbianism and other vices, yet they stand on the altar and preach, sing and conduct counseling sessions.
There are gospel singers who live sexually immoral lives .
There are also Professing Christians who pray at all, attend churches, read the Bible, yet the Devil uses their lives to do target practice.
WHY?
Because they have one foot in God's Kingdom and the other in the world,or they have both in God's Kingdom and look backward at the world.
Or they have still the Old Man still active in their lives. The characters of the Old Man include
1.Pride
2.Arrogance
3.Anger
4.Disobedience
5.Self centredness
6.Domineering spirit
7.Rebellion
8.Controlling freak spirit
9.Spirit of criticism
10.Unforgiveness
11.Keeping malice
12.Judgementality
13.Sexual sins of any sort
14.Hypocrisy
15.Backbiting
16.Greed
17.Covetousness.
18.Love of pleasure rather than God and many more .
Many men of God do possess one or more of these vices characterising the Old Man,in their lives.
Sorry brother, you're wrong. Judgement of any and all humans has been committed to Jesus alone, the only one Who identifies with our frailties having gone through it too. He is merciful and understands. He will accept anything as long as love is the motive.

You're very ignorant of what Jesus has done for you. If indeed you have received Christ, then you ought to know that you're no longer the one there. You're dead and in place of you is Jesus, the immovable rock. Sin has no place in your life whether you did it knowingly or not. Righteousness is what you are.

Sin as we know it has lost its hold on any born again. It's up to you to grow into the full measure of Christ or remain a babe. There's so much room for growth and improvement for anyone in Christ. Just know one thing: No ine, not even you can pluck yourselves out if Jesus's Hands as long as you have believed in Him.

How can SE state make revenue when IPOB terrorists keep killing them and declaring sit at home every week.
Speak about you sorry lots that cannot do without government work and Sara money. Who told you the Igbos need government to survive? No matter how poor an Igbo man is, he can never be as poor as an ewedu guzzler.

So, you don't know that accruement from FAAC is the legal entitlement of states.
BTW, where do you think the money from budget is coming from if not federal.
It is definitely not IGR as only 2 states generates up to 30% of their FAAC income.
What entitlement is that? So they don't have the same entitlement to Zamfara gold? It's only the oil from SS that you all have entitlement to. Shameless!
Look you better wake up as soon there will not be enough to go round under this present administration of renewed shege.

Budget is statement of intent. For example,
Abia state plans to borrow almost 100% of its 2024 budget and tie unborn generations of Abia state to monumental debt.

Hopefully, this time, Abia state will not budget N25m for schools and N1.25 billion for state house feeding.

If I were you, I will delve into the details and follow the money instead of surface level. So much mediocre leaders in your zone yet only God knows how you have the mind to compare SE to SW when you should actually compare SE states to equally mostly unviable and terrorist-ravaged NE states like SE states.
We know where the mediocre leaders are found: in the SW and also the North, where despite the huge allocations the states get, yet majority of their populace are always begging for money or touting.

So far only three states have declared their budgets for the fiscal year 2024. These states should be commended for the early presentation of their respective budgets as this will ensure smooth take off next year as they implement the budgets to tackle the urgent and important challenges in their states.

Enugu has a budget of over N5120b, Anambra a little above N400b while Ekiti state tendered a budget of N150b. The disparity among the three states is what I want to discuss in this piece.

From the budgetry allocation presented so far and from others that are yet to be presented, it has become clear that states will no longer be supported by the FG in carrying out their tasks especially in terms of monetary assistance. States will now have to do with their IGR and other means of revenue in order to be able to meet up.

From the initial presentations so far, it is looking like the SE has a higher budget than the SW. Though it is too early to conclude that this is how the trajectory will be, yet I am constrained to prematurely presume that apart from Lagos State, the combined budget of the rest SW states will not amount to half of the combined SE states.

Unfortunately this trend will continue throughout this present administration's stay. This is due to the disappearance of 'free money'. And we know the SW are incurable lovers of free money, Sara money etc while the SE work real hard for their money.

Anyway, let's see the next state to presentits budget and the we can confirm if my thesis proves true or not.

The economic indices still indicate that Nigerians are getting the worst of governance from APC despite all the appointments doled out. And it'll continue to be even worse for their supporters who love to smile while suffering.
It is not God that will punish all APC supporters but Tinubu himself.

I am very much aware of the rising debacle between people of the SW and the SE and I will not condemn either of them for their stands. The SW are right on many points. Likewise the SE too.
It is inevitable that various groups that make up the unclaimed entity known as Nigeria should always be at loggerhead due to factors like resource control, government appointments and migration.
As an Igbo man I will concede that the SW has a right to feel angry and sad that the SE is not grateful for the immense opportunity the SE found to do business in their states. Yes, they are right in their anger but then the SE people are also acting right especially as a people who rose successfully from a bitter war that left everyone impoverished. An apprentice can no longer be acting subserviently to his master after gaining freedom and has become his own man. Such is the case with the SE people. So they too have a good reason to be angry.

Now back to the present. You will notice that I left the north in all this. This is because the north are the south's enemy. They gain from our division.

So going forward, Nigeria will not continue to remain a country but will in the near future disintegrate. This is because things have changed for the worse since our independence. We have not coalesced despite given over 60 years to do so. Nigeria has proven to be an unworkable entity.
As it is, Tinubu might well be the last President Nigeria will have. This is because Nigeria has lost more than 95% of it's glory and relevance in the scheme of things in Africa and the international stage in general.
I have lived in Lagos all me life with short spells living in other places and I can tell you that Lagos is the happening place. I love Lagos no matter how it is potrayed by anyone. Lagos is far better than other states in Nigeria by far especially because of its cosmopolitan nature, even foreigners will agree with me.

May God let His will be done here in Nigeria so that it's citizens will have a reason to continually thank Him.

I am Igbo and I love Lagos and all its inhabitants. I also love the SE. May we all be able to find a middle ground to ensure we continue to prosper regardless of who occupies Aso Rock.

The perennial rivalry between the Yoruba people and the Igbo people is very much welcome in my opinion. One is standing on the continued existence, Nigeria while the other stands on the assumption that Nigeria will eventually don't grate.

I support none of them. I rather watch and see how they both thrash themselves on social media like frustrated couples living in a one room apartment while neglecting the obvious matters that matter to them. I really pity these two tribes of the South. They are prosperous in almost every sphere of influence in this country yet they are at daggers drawn all the time! While they fight over inconsequentiala, the other tribes are flourishing and looking at the two mumus.

The day that Nigeria as a country will give up, perhaps that's the day the both tribes will realize how foolish they have been.

All these cosmetic approaches should be jettisoned for a real fight with the real criminals in the system.

Emefiele's CBN created a new powerful class of arbitrage profiteers who wont just go away because there's a new president. These people must be identified and sanctioned severely. We don't spend dollars in Nigeria but, dollar demands on a daily basis is sky high... why is that?

Desperate times calls for desperate measures, the black market and bureau the change business must be stopped forthwith! All dollar demands and supply MUST be made to go through official channels... the banks!

Nobody should be allowed to hold FX in Nigeria beyond two weeks including (inside domiciliary accounts). People who seek dollars for specific purposes like tuition abroad should be taxed between 10-20% ... After all, no poor man travels abroad for studies.

CBN cannot continue to posture like a lame hapless puppy. Draconian rules must be implemented to run those thieves out of business. A major responsibility of the CBN is to maintain the value of the naira and intervene in the FX market when necessary but, this cannot be achieved if the FX systems is allowed to be wilfully manipulated by external forces.

What's tha business?
Look here, the issue is not about berefment of ideas but the issue of trust. Who is honest enough to keep the records straight? ….as EU describes Peter Obi’s Digital Followers as Faker Than a Hollywood Smile

That EU Report that indicted Obidients, and Atikulated digital followers, as faker than a Hollywood smile who may appear shiny and dazzling, but deep down, they’re nothing more than a mirage of support is worrisome. Oh, the wonders of social media illusion! Bravo to Atiku and Obi for their digital charades, leaving us all amused by their fakery! Writes John Mayaki

Oh, well, well, well, look at our esteemed presidential candidates in all their social media glory! The EU has graciously provided us with a delightful report that exposes their oh-so-authentic followers. But wait, folks! It turns out some of these followers might just be as real as unicorns and leprechauns!

Oh, how amusing! Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, leading the pack with their suspicious armies of Twitter bots, creating a grand illusion of support! I must say, their creativity in deception is truly commendable – thanks to the EU report.

Bravo, Obidients and Atikulated, for trying to boost your egos with a digital fan club! How that translate to winning the elections is another ball game!

In their quest for social media supremacy, the candidates experienced a miraculous surge in followers just in time for the grand show of the presidential election. Oh, the coincidences! But the EU, being the keen observers they are, couldn’t help but notice the parade of suspicious accounts marching behind these fake politicians.

Ah, the wonders of modern technology! These bots were crafty enough to have seemingly genuine profiles, fooling us mere mortals at first glance. But fear not, for the EU’s mighty Botometer and Bot Sentinel tools came to the rescue! Through their heroic efforts, they unveiled the truth – these followers were faker than a Hollywood smile, they declared!

So, there you have it, my friends – a tale of fake followers leading a digital deception to discredit a most credible elections. All wrapped up in a nice EU report gift for our enjoyment! Bravo, PDP and Assistant PDP politicians, bravo! You’ve truly mastered the art of political theater on social media, leaving us all in awe of your ingenuity.

But that’s not all – there is also the call for military interventions in Nigeria – from election victory claims to militocracy dreams; how Peter Obi and Labour Party supporters showcase a circus of political theatrics is interesting. It all started yesterday also on Twitter.

Well, isn’t this just a rollercoaster ride of political shenanigans? We’ve got Peter Obi and his merry band of Labour Party supporters claiming victory in the 2023 presidential elections in Nigeria! But wait, plot twist! Suddenly, they’re moonwalking their way into a military takeover fantasy! Who needs evidence and court rulings when you can play pretend coup?

Oh, I can hear the uproarious laughter echoing through the corridors of power! It’s like a sideshow circus, with the acrobats of hypocrisy performing breathtaking stunts of flip-flopping and logic-twisting! Bravo, folks! You’ve truly mastered the art of bending reality to fit your narrative.

Judiciary and democracy? Nah, they’re so last season! Why bother with such trivial matters when you can join the “militocracy” trend? Forget about the rule of law; let’s embrace the whims of the military overlords! The Obidients thought in their hallucination.

And here’s the cherry on top of this ludicrous political sundae: the grand display of “believing whatever suits me best at the moment!” Bravo, Peter Obi and crew! Your versatility in truth-shifting is unparalleled!

In the grand theater of politics, we have front-row seats to witness the hilarious dance of contradictions. They claimed election glory, but now they’re all about that coup-wanting life! It’s like watching a masterpiece of farcical drama unfold right before our eyes.

So, let’s raise a toast to Peter Obi and the Labour Party supporters for delivering this comedic gem! Truly, their escapades in the realm of politics are a delightful source of entertainment for the masses.

Peter Obi’s election claims to militocracy dreams and digital followers faker than a Hollywood smile – congratulations Peter Obi!

For months now, I've been patiently observing the hatred between the SE and SW. It bothered me because I didn't see how to get these two tribes to love themselves again. It seemed that every post quickly turns out tribalistic. It matters not who fires the first shot.
The truth is that Nigeria is not good again like it was before and our leaders are clueless what to do.
I hate tribalism to the core but in a country like Naija, that's the best path to take.
Now I pity the SW because Tinubu is about to make a grave mistake if ever he is eventually convinced to war with Niger, Buhari's country. Already Tinubu's body odor is oppressively discomforting. He should tread carefully or else the SW will go down as the region or tribe that caused Nigeria's disintegration.
