This country is not changing anytime soon. Bitter truth. |

See as NLders dy attack you left and center, If you 'supported' Tinubu, you shouldn't be coming here to make threads about not eating three square meals. I really hope you take every advice given to you here because your gender is really complex because I don't know why you are still checking his status after he replaced you. It shows you've not moved on.
This is one of the reasons why men avoid single mothers because of complicated relationships with their exes. With your current state now, even if God sends another man your way and your ex comes crawling back later (because I trust he will), you may still give into your ex.
I read your thread in 2013 and it's really sad that you focused on the superficial qualities - he's funny, cute, humble etc, instead of looking for a man with solid principles that comes from the foundation of the word of God. Godly men don't easily divorce their wives, abandon their daughter and remarry over what you've documented here for the past 10 years.
I'm a guy and but I'm moved by your story truly because I know the pain of a failed marriage by virtue of people close to me.
Please seek a closer relationship with God because only He can comfort you on those lonely night, only in Him can you find the true meaning of life again and move on.
Lastly, forgive your soon to be ex husband and family. I know it's hard right now but do it for yourself so that your healing can start.
Stay strong sis. |

Jokers. All the cars in the presedential fleet don't lack fuel, even his own personal car doesn't lack fuel, guess what? The nation pays for it. I can also bet that the first family including other principal officers and their families don't buy fuel, the nation pays for it. How do I know? I knew a driver to an ex - Governor's brother. The siblings to the ex - governor goes to the fuel dump in the state to fill the tank of their personal cars for free. Now think of what happens at the federal level where there's more money Your politicians are out of touch with the reality of the common man in Nigeria. Keep zombie'ing for them. You're the unwise one |
Politics › Re: Benin Republic, Niger Enjoy Smuggled Fuel As Nigerians Keep Vigil For Petrol by Marvyx(m): 7:51am On Aug 24, 2024 |
nairalanda1: SO, government should spend over N1000 per liter so that you can have fuel at N40 per liter then?
The issue is, your government is not able to keep up the subsidy, and is going into debt keeping fuel at N700 and below.
For me it is kind of choose your poision.
1. Keep subsidy, even reduce prices to N200 or less per liter, and the resulting deficit eats our forex earnings, and drives us into debt and penilessness until Sri Lanka level is attained.
2. Remove subsidy, yes hyperinflation for some time, but we eventually get more domestic refining, more investment, and could even become an exporter of refined products, meaning our economy benefits (We won't have a good economy...until we industrialize and become an exporter of manufactured goods and services tho...that's another discussion).
2 IS the least worst option.
NO one likes subsidy removal...but for donkey years we have subsidised fuel...and electricity, and at the end, we have gotten nothing out of it. TIme to try something new. We have been warned about this since 1993, and especially in 2012, when we had the last chance to remove subsidy painlessly. Clearly, you are in government or probably are among the lucky few that aren't really shaken by the economy. The common man on the street can't buy common necessities while the government lives in opulence, your submission while true lacks empathy for the average Nigerian who have done nothing wrong and apathy for the government who single handedly drove us to this current mess. |

Why didn't the Op wait until he was weak before launching his rescue attempt? Where was the "netted rod" the Op used to feel the drowned body earlier? Couldn't he have extended the Rod to the drowning Guy to stay afloat? Bro in the spur and panic of the moment you won't remember all these. Besides, if not for the shit country we are in that safety regulations are non existent, why would the hotel allow people into a pool without life guards present? And if the life guard is leaving for anything, there should be another taking his place. |
Politics › Re: Benin Republic, Niger Enjoy Smuggled Fuel As Nigerians Keep Vigil For Petrol by Marvyx(m): 6:49am On Aug 24, 2024 |
nairalanda1:

It is simple.
1. Fuel costs below N1000 here
2. Fuel costs above N1000 over there. Even in NIger, with the recent reduction, fuel costs N1400 per liter
3. Naturally, smuggling would result. And let's be honest, it is not only big people doing it, even the small ordinary Nigerian would carry a 50 liter jerrycan of fuel across the border, and sell it, and come back with a big enough profit to bribe customs, and still have enough left over.
4. We don't have fuel, because government is struggling to pay the subsidy on fuel. Right now we owe fuel exporters lots of money, we are struggling to even pay the NNPC shortfall, and NNPC is now raiding the dividends to pay off its own shortfall.
5. And yet, Nigerians keep asking for cheap fuel
It is our desire to have N40 fuel that is causing this, people. And it is high time we woke up and realized fuel cannot be cheap, and totally removed subsidy.
Yet, anyone suggesting this now is apparently agbado, even if they have never voted for tinubu or never liked the man (I have not liked tinubu since 2005, when Gani first raised the questions about his certificate then)....
But it is obvious subsidy, even at tinubu level is not sustainable.
The only way to stop smuggling is to TOTALLY REMOVE SUBSIDES. Yes, fuel would cost N1500 per liter, and yes, Agbado people brought hardship to NIgeria, and yes NIgeria needs to divide, and bla bla bla
But you cannot sell at a loss and not expect issues.
And if you think NIgeria is the only country with this issue....
1. LIbya has a severe smuggling problem, to the point that smuggliers are being bombed by the LIbyan air force
2. Saudi has a smuggling problem with Yemen, which they are finding hard to fight
3. Iran has issues on the border with Pakistan. Iranian fuel is being smuggled into Pakistan well well. Subaisy
4. Venezuela has a massive smuggling problem. Same thing happening here. They lost 18 bn dollars to smuggling one year.
See the benefits of subsidy
Yet somehow, we want something that costs over N1000 to make to be sold at N200 or less because 'poverty'
We better wake up folks. All this epistle without thinking that if Nigerians have enough purchasing power or in the least even abundant electricity, they wouldn't mind buying fuel at 1500 per litre. |

Snowx: No is because of ethnic sentiments...most Lagosians never call a spade a spade since the emergence of their brother. Did you see any of your brothers and sisters commenting on this thread? They have gone hidding..however, what is glaring in the face of everybody is that Tinubu doesn't have capacity to lead Nigeria..and some of your statesmen that protested during Gej has kept mute on the coming protest..what hypocrisy is more than that? And you assumed from my post that I'm yoruba or Igbo? You're really projecting your own ethnic sentiments judging by your post. |

JASONjnr: Omo, the fuel scarcity is really annoying and time consuming....
This country is really cursed...
How can you have natural oil yet you can't power your house or have enough gas to drive around....
How can you be surrounded with rivers and you can't build dams to have constant energy?
How can you have a population of 200m, enough create massive tax and generate revenue, yet the country is without food roads....
This country doesn't deserve a peaceful protest, but a brutal protest that should claim these politician's lives....
The suffering is enough... These people begged for good governance in 2012, Nigerians gave them power in 2015 and till date, they're still clueless....
Note: I advocated for state protest and not centered protest where damages will mainly affect properties and not the politicians. Nigeria is like this because the present situation favours the elites. |

Go ready your Bible, the sons of Judah and read what Naomi told Ruth when her son died. It was clearly practiced among the jews in the Bible to keep the offspring and legacy of the late son going. The brother alive was in the UK throughout their marriage so he can't be accused of admiring his brother's widow before death or having a hand in his brother's death and they are two consenting adults, so what's the problem? |

If you think you can attain a wealthy position on earth without influence from the spiritual realm, you neva know wetin dy sup. They may not be religious, but they are all serving something.
