All of us (Wailers and Zombies) should be worried about the recent recklessness and lack of respect for the rule of law on part of he executive. We should not allow sentiments to becloud our sense of reasoning. The Judiciary is an independent arm of government and the last hope of the common man. Granted some few judges may be corrupted but the constitution has provided ways of treating cases of corrupted judges. The executive should have reported such judges to National Judicial Committee. The judges can then be prosecuted by the police if they are found guilty of criminal acts by NJC.
If we allow the Executive to muzzled the Judiciary, the president may become a dictator who can do any thing and get away with it. Our collective freedom may be taken....
i surely don't get this, it seems we have over rate the power of the NJC, Judges are not exempt from investigations, a fellow Judge would have given the dss a warrant they won't just go in just like that, and the funny part is the judges will be tried by their fellow Judges.

Do you understand the workings of democracy at all? When did it become the duty of the DSS to investigate financial crimes? Isn't that an usurpation of the roles of the EFCC? An ominous dark clouds have enveloped this country. I only pray it won't be too late before we all rise up to condemn what is evil regardless of our political affiliations.
please enlighten us on the function and powers of the Dss

PoliticsRe: Tinubu/South West Can NEVER Stop Buhari In 2019. by masseratti: 5:58pm On Oct 08, 2016
I don't know why You guys are having a party because of Tinubu, if his own political sons can fall out with him, not just one but legions of them, don't you think there is something wrong with him of recent? people who are close to him complains and you talk about some powers up north checking him? without Tinubu there will not be Oyegun as the chairman, no PMB as the president, his failure is that he continued business as usual instead of changing his tactics.
Tinubu real power base is not the educated elites in south West in Lagos its more of land families of various communities, in other states its more of his relationship with the chiefs and obas in the domain,

Plus there are swing states? just like Florida is a swing state, Sw and Nc were swing states for the election, so whats the fuss about this Tinubu, if election is held in the country in 2019 and PMB rig and push the country into chaos, he should be ready for the Gbagbo treatment from Trump or Hillary, that's what got Gej out of the way, noting else.

"Separation of powers" is a well-defined constitutional concept - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Separation_of_powers - and the point is to prevent governments from degenerating into tyrannies. And yes, it does mean that one arm of government can't simply decide that it has the responsibility to unilaterally purge another, otherwise a slide into dictatorship would be almost inevitable.
there's nothing in our constitution that stop police from arresting a judge, you know these justices are going to be tried infront of their colleagues, amd those once must be fair and just.
PoliticsRe: Names Of Supreme Court Justices Arrested By Dss by masseratti: 5:17pm On Oct 08, 2016

I despise corruption as much as anyone, but there are good and bad ways of combating it; subverting the rule of law and undermining the independence of the judiciary is definitely not one of them. On what constitutional grounds can the DSS carry out an action such as this?

Even if these justices are each ten times as corrupt as Sani Abacha, I would think that the right way to handle the situation is by impeaching them, and having them tried by the appropriate NASS committees, not through the executive arm issuing orders to have them locked up. This looks to me to be a clear violation of the separation of powers. Of course, given how little regard most Nigerians have for such constitutional niceties, I fully expect loads of idiots to cheer on this action regardless.
judges even the CJN does not have immunity so Whats the talk about impeachment? senate president and Speaker do not have immunity too.
PoliticsRe: How The North Tamed Yoruba Ambition – Tanko Yakassai by masseratti:
This is total trash, and half truth, this kind of lying old men are abound in the North, Sw and in the Se, always coming up with conspiracy theories, this man is Ffk to the north, half truth and half lies is called fallacy.
The only thing that bound the North is the Fulani hegemony, which they use Islam to propagate and the form of rulw before independent was indirect in the North while In the south, it was direct, whats the difference between fiscal and true federalsm, is not normal for the North to have 50% Seats and south 50% too?
the 1St republic was not a total majority government, it was a coalition government between major parties in the North and South East, this man should noy rewrite history for us, if the landmass and population is what they deem as "gift " and advantages, let those who do not see it as advantage to them go or restructure the system, laws are made for men not men for law, if things do noy change under buhari, the catastrophe that the North will experience after a rebellion from the south Will be worse if they don't allow calls for restucturing of the system of government. How can we be lying to ourselves calling our self "federal republic " while the center collect royalties due to the states, pay traditional rulers money till they die, a secular country with religious laws paying for people to go to Israel and Arabia.
Baba continue to lie to yourself until the economy collapse on you, we are in recession now, if care is not taken the country will enter depression, No region can rule without alliance from other regions #Fact, the North did not rule alone in 1960, 79 and 99 all the government were Alliance between the North and South East, Obj was a northern Puppet too before he turned and broke the myth of power among them.
Christianity EtcRe: Question For The Muslim! by masseratti: 11:50pm On Oct 06, 2016
Farmerforlife:
First of all, the verse is incorrectly interpreted. Whoever interpreted the word 'darb' as 'scourge' was being overly mischevious.

The dispensation is understood to have been given for extreme cases as the last option, and even then, it was disliked to have to resort to it. There is a severe restriction on how a husband may beat his wife, should the matter come to that; for example, it must not be severe, liable to leave marks, or humiliating, and the face must be avoided at all costs. The prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) himself never raised his hand to anyone, except enemy combatants in war.

You ask if earlier prophets permitted husbands to beat their wives. The answer to this is not known. There are just no records in the extant OT about how Abraham, Moses, David or any other prophet conducted their family affairs. Jesus was not a lawgiver, but endorsed the old laws, so we do not expect to see any law there. Add to that, the fact that no part of the NT is actually written by any diaciple or eyewitness of his, and the whole is of doubtful transmission and authorship in any event.

The fact remains that NO VERSE IN THE WHOLE BIBLE either prohibits wife beating, or attempts to keep it within restrictive boundaries. A Muslim would obviously be sinning if he beats his wife in a severe or humiliating manner, or on her face, or without first of all using the preferred options. A Christian or a Jew can beat his wife in any way, shape or form at any time he wishes, and there is no sin upon him, because the Bible never prohibited it or outlined what would be excessive when doing it.
David Is not a prophet, how many times do we tell you guys that,A fact is something you have proof of, where did you get the facts from, that no eye witness wrote any part of the bible? if paul can write the letters and yes He wasn't a eyeswitness just some years after death, less than 40years, if John says he is one of the disciples then he is, mark and Matthew Were lettered, and there are alot of writers in the time of Jesus.
Unlike the arabs the Jewish people have a ton of books of things about them and their land, religious and non religious records. No ancient records of mecca or medina, there are records of cities in Yemen but Hardly anyone in Arabia.

No my dear, Igalas, Idomas and Igbirrras are originally from Kwararafa. Go and study history very well, it was not manufactured.
There are many proofs. Jukuns of Taraba state have many similarities in culture and language with idoma, Igala and Igbirra and the jukuns were the leaders of Kwararafa kingdom.
Have u ever been to Nasarawa state and related with the people there and their ethnic groups? Most of them there speak similar dialects and many like Alago, Agatu, Afo, Ekye are very much like Idoma in the way they sound. All these idomoid groups of languages came from Kwararafa and they are called APA people. The fulani jihad was what divided Kwararafa descendants so much and displaced and divided many of them.
Ebiras fled from Kwararafa area and first settled in Agatu in Benue and many Agatu people still classify themselves under Ebira and many of them claim Ebira ancestry, the ebiras who settled there gave rise to the Egbura (Egbirra opanada, Toto and Umaisha) people of Nasarawa state and when the Egbirras left there that was how they founded the other Egbirra settlements like Egbirra koto of FCT and Lokoja, Egbirra mozum of Bassa and finally the Egbirra tao of Kogi central that you know. Ebira etuno in Edo migrated from Tao land. All egbirras even down to their king know they came from kwararafa.

And pls, kwararafa is not part of the north. They are in Taraba state and culturally and geographically middlebelt.

Igalas are the ones who do not have wholly kwararafan origin although about half of igalas today claim kwararafa. I think this is because they were conquered and ruled by kwararafa for a long time and during this period, many kwararafan settlers came amongst them and even during the fall of kwararafa, many fleeing groups settled with igalas. The current Attah of igala proudly identifies with kwararafa.
No, kwararafa could never have claimed Okun, how could they? They don't claim anyone. The average jukun people don't have the time to claim anybody, rather it is other tribes that identify with their kingdom.

I am partly Idoma.
Are u Okun?
please where is kwararafa? for all i know its a Hausa name for river Niger, same with songo and nasarawa.
Ebiras and Igalas are from Adamawa and taraba, they almost over run the hausas in their hey days, great warriors they are.
CultureRe: Okun People/tribe by masseratti: 10:48am On Oct 05, 2016
YonkijiSappo:
I am not Anebira. But I believe Ebiras migrated from somewhere n the North central from an area around Abuja to their present location predominantly below the confluence, and broke the long standing contact between a continuous Yoruba-Igala territory. Today I actually think Ebiras feel more comfortable wih Yorubas than any other tribe. Although many of them think Ebira being majority muslim make them closer to Hausa... that couldn't be further from the truth because Ebiraland was never conquered in a jihad, but rather became muslims on their own accord.
Also, Ebiras, Igalas and Idomas did not migrate from Kwararafa. That was just a legend to make the north central tribes feel more connected to the North than the south. If Okun was not already obviously Yoruba, I am sure the kwararafa lies would have also spread to them.
Are you Idoma? Many Idomas and Agatus are also in the Western states ooo... hope u know?
no my dear, ebiras are actually jukuns from adamawa and taraba, just like the fulanis thry follwed the river and they are very related To the igalas, they both came from same area.
