The comparison is not fair without checking statistics. How many names does BrandAim have all together comapared with TonyNames? Also, how much do they expend on domains quarterly or monthly?. iCausetrouble acknowledged that sales is slow this year comparing to previous years and despite having over 600names he had to liquidate some to reduce renewal fee. In brandables, number is key because most of your sales are inbound except you have a relative name associated with a coy yet to launch or would like to redirect same.

SH is great because of her spread in over 60 marketplaces. Therefore, SH insight should not be a yardstick in this context. There are names you feel shouldn't take more than 3months to sale, you realise you have to renew till it drops. Brandables got to with lot of research and instinct.

In this industry, stats can be deceptive. I made my inference base on what I've seen and read concerning both of them on their acquisitions and sales. Also talking from my own point of view and my experience so far in the industry.

I'll still maintain that brandables study should not be based on SH insight. Most people like me have made that mistake, and we thought once we know how SH works thats all for brandables.

I studied Judgemind early sales on SH and his acquisitions afterwards the difference was there.

One thing though, i feel name acquisition should not be based on SH marketplace insight. What I'm saying is, we should not buy names bacause SH will accept it, but rather because it will sell no matter the marketplace it's listed.

Using 2 people as an example.

Judgemind aka BrandAim has 80% of his names listed on SH, most of his acquisitions are based on SH insight. Tonynames acquisitions are not influenced by SH, though the guy has had a vast knowledge of domain acquisition before joining domain community in 2020. Comparing their acquisitions and sales, i feel Tonynames has a bit of success rate compare to Judgemind.

SH is a good marketplace but should not influence in name acquisitions.

Constant sales = constant buying...

You can not be buying 10 names per month and expect contant sales...domaining is now hard, reason being that we have too many variations on that domain name you are pushing.

Again my brother...domaining is no more easy, therefore more research is also needed. Research more on a name before you reg it.

I use same sales template all through the periods of out-bonding. I only formulate a new sales letter when I get a response from endusers, replying back to them based on the content of what I received.

After the first out-bound every other subsequent out-bounds(follow ups) are not sent under the pre-existing mails sent out. They are all independent of one another. So, all follow ups are like sending out a newly fresh mail for the first time.

Out-bounding are carried out just once in a month. Most of my sales came in at the 7th, 8th, 10th months after price reduction.

After 8th follow ups...Great months ahead for us all. Follow up! Follow up! Follow up!

Try and change your followup mails...using same all the time might make your emails prone to spam.

My 2 cent...

Withdraw your sales proceeds to grey gbp. Obtain their vitual card and fire on.

It helps in budgeting and saving.

If i make $299 sales for example. I remove $100 and put it in my usd acct at grey. I will withdraw the remaining in gbp to my naija acct. No need to worry about conversion rate ishh..chipper cash nonsense.

No matter how small the sales i make, i must remove a certain percentage and put in grey usd for reinvestment.

Now I've resorted to placing backorder. Please between dynadot and dropcatch, which is best for placing a backorder or which website will you recommend

I won't advise anyone to use UBA Dom card.

UBA has been giving me issues of recent.

Dynadot locked me out for a week or so because I was trying to pay for a name, but the payment didn't go through due to some reasons, yet, UBA debited me. Tried it for the second time and it went through.

When I reached out to UBA to refund the first transaction that didn't go through, they requested I filled a charge back form, which I did without hesitation.

Surprisely, UBA did a charge back on the second transaction that went through - Reason dynadot locked my account.

I moved to namebright because dynadot said I can no longer use my Dom card on their site.

Same thing happened on namebright last month.

Namebright said I must pay $250 charge back fee before I can get access to my account.

If anyone has experienced something like this with namebright, kindly let me know how it was resolved so I can do same.

why not collect uba dollar africard. Fund the card with your dom account(visit uba branch...fill both withdrawal and deposit slip with the amount you want to put in the africard. Tell them to withdraw from your dom and put it in your africard). This is what i have been doing.

Note: Africard is #1,500 while dom card is $15

Here are few things that worked for me:

Here is thing I normally do use LE, then use CB for authentic email. The more CB email you got, the better.

I outbound from 8pm to 6am. Almost all my sales drop at night.

Use a very crafting sales letter with subject, then follow up like you know what they're thinking.

Most follow up are majory 3 times in a week. Just like aggressive outbound.

You would get, reply, someone demanding questions or another name, clear their doubt...

Geo sales are mostly outbounds. Of a truth, most of the buyers only buy them because of your marketing pitch... a sense of urgency that makes them think it is not good for their competitors to have it. They don't have a problem dropping between $200-$500 for them. And some don't even bother to redirect it away from the marketplace even after purchase. Some won't even renew them (that's even if they remember owning them).

But those kind of sales by Swetha are different, way different. The buyers come knocking themselves without being invited, buying for thousands of dollars only to redirect it to a dead Twitter handle or not even resolving? C'mon!

1, 2, 3, or even 4 in 10 sales not developed can be said to be normal. But 7 or above should raise eyebrows.

it raises nothing. The people buying this domains are not struggling people. They are well to do people. Companies, corporations etc. that might have intended project and will make use of domains might buy domains for the purpose of not losing out on the domains.

eg i sold Web3TV xyz for 799 and the buyer has not used it for once...infact its not even pointing to anything. So what do you call such type of sales?
