Adaure4ever:I like the sound of it. They attack you with Afang soup, you counter with Oha soup. Me sef go throw Egusi soup into the mix. Mehn, this is the kind of war I'd absolutely love to be involved in. I'm Igbo and I love my people dearly. Also got love for our Efik/Ibibo/Anang cousins. Never heard any form of rabble rousing from their end. |
LMFashions:Its funny how everybody possesses at least a Masters Degree on Igbo Affairs. Everyone seems to have an opinion when it concerns Igbos no matter how 'off-point' the opinion might be. But we'll always thrive regardless. |
See ram checking out the news highlights. Even rams want to participate in politics. Hope it voted during the last elections. |
Ajaoogbo:Where do I want them to go? East ofcourse. Oppotunities abound here. I know cause am on ground. Would you rather they stay there and keep incurring unnecessary losses? Not counting the insults. The other day some people protested with placards asking them to go home. You read the story. Some lost as much as N20 million. Others more. U think its easy to recover from such devastating losses? Some must have lost their entire life savings, maliciously rendered paupers overnight. It would not be this bad if they were in the east. For every market domolished here, an adequate alternative was provided. You heard they provided 600 shops for over five thousand traders. Assuming 600 people take up the shops provided, what happens to the remaining 4400? Onye ajuru aju anaghi aju onwe ya. |
You are waiting for them to come out and tell u that u are not wanted before u go? The people that coined the words, "Actions speak louder than words" weren't entirely foolish. |
You are the man. Keep up the good work, bro. More grease. |
Hehe, Evag. Elliot Ukoh I hail u. Spit the fire and let it burn the nay sayers. One Respect. Really was disappointed with Sagay's comments. Brilliant luminary. Read his books. Held him in high esteem (still do), but I guess some people are not perfect after all. Respect. |
This thread does not deserve a dignified response. Mods oya! To the jokes section. God bless the Igbos |
Udmaster:That's what am saying. Maybe he created this thread in response to the news that made frontpage today about 3 Igbo men appointed in the govt of a state in America. |
I hope this topic is not becos of the 3 Igbo men appointed officials in America recently. I will tell you right now: this topic is childish. Igbo is Igbo. Yoruba is Yoruba. We don't have much in common. So no need for the competition. There's no trophy to be won here. We Igbos celebrate ourselves. Some call it chest beating (whatever suits them). Our western neighbours should do same - if they like. No need for this. |
Would have loved it if the Tiv man explained to us how the 3Rs were actually implemented. Is it the reconstruction and rehabilitation (ofcourse there was no reconciliation) that was enforced every other place except the devastated East where the war was actually fought? Maybe he was refering to another '3Rs'. |
Outstanding. Impressive. Igbos shining since forever. God's favour will always be with His people. |
Good one. The ground is being prepared for the East to move into her rightful place. Haters can't stop this. They no reach. |
Good job, op. I hope they listen. Our brothers may be wasting their time there. Their investments are demolished. They start again from the scratch. As they are about to start reaping the fruits of their labour, the investments are demolished again under a different guise. The cycle continues. This is not counting the outrageous taxes, levies and dues they are made to pay during the time the businesses last before another demolition. My friend's cousin had to relocate after two great losses. His now in Anambra. And he's doing well. |
Would love to see the movie. Keep up the good work brother. |
I feel nothing but pity for those that lost everything in the demolition. Come back home brothers. Re-establish yourself in the east. Whatever u lost u shall regain. |
Good one. Congrats. |
Yet to see the usefulness of this scheme. And don't tell me about 'unity'. Ofcourse anyone can see how 'united' we are. |
People always bring up this 'tribalism' issue whenever Igbos talk about investing at home. So investing in one's region to improve the place economically and infrastructurally as well as to provide employment is being tribalistic? Last I checked, I wasn't able to find non-easterners who invested heavily in Igboland the way Igbos have done everywhere. |
Reno make sense o. Though I want to believe the statue is just a symbol like the one in Brazil. Left to me though, I would discourage the construction of any statue as there's a thing line between simlpe aesthetic appreciation and idolatry, especially if the piece of art in question has to do with the supposed images of the originators of world religions like Budha, Zoroaster, Jesus etc. I would've used to resources invested in this project to better the lot of the poor, the orphans, the widows etc. That is more rewarding. |
Good one bro. May u continue to shine. |
astrodome:I concur with this. They complain of high taxes and ridiculous levies yet they won't invest at least a portion of the businesses at home. Everyday they are taunted and told to go home yet they won't think. That's why I love Innoson. God bless that man. If we all run away, what happens to the east? Who invests here? What will stimulate our economy down here? You create jobs in other areas forgeting ur home, with our teeming unemployed youths. Govt can't do it all. Those saying that the east isn't viable forget that where there's a will there's always a way. If we put our minds to it, we can build the east to economic greatness. |
Blured: ![]() You're funny. It was nice talking (abi typing?) with u. U have a great day. |
Blured:Wrong. This experiences are different from what u call 'hallucinations' or 'psychosis'. They are spiritual and can't be percieved by the physical senses. I can't explain these things to u even if I wanted to. Even if I tried to, there's not way I could convince you. They are better experienced. But make no mistakes: Folks do hear God. From your comment its like u don't believe in God. If thats the case, then we shouldn't be having this conversation. It will lead us nowhere. |
That the prof doesn't seem to like religion doesn't mean that religion is altogether bad, at least speaking for Christianity. Its the misinterpretation of the doctrines of religion that make it seem bad. And yes, people can and do hear God. |
Op, it's now 'Igbo'? Okay. Remember to use this same 'Igbo' when its good news and don't tell us its 'Nigerian'. I hope ur day will proceed smoothly now that you've let this off ur chest. |
Palmwinetapper:Before nko? She tell u say I hold am? |
Not the best of sights. This ex beauty queen should show a good example to younger girls growing up. |
