if you are to go by Christian laws, the answer is no
As far as Christianity is concerned the traditional wedding itself is null and void if not barbaric
Please don't drag Christianity into mockery. Don't let the world see us as stupid because of your ignorant opinion, please.

Most of u just don't read and understand. This man is saying that if not that there is no central govt in Libya, that Libya is the best place to work..

He is right. I met a lot of Nigerians who were working in Libya and were building houses in Nigeria back then. Libya is not expensive bro. U earn a lot and spend less. He was doing well, just that the war caused by western country messed up Libya. Many Arabs go to libya to make a living back then.

He simply said if not for lack of central govt, he would av stayed back. A person who was planning to go to Europe but forgot about it when he started working in Libya becus the pay was good, that tells u a lot.

Electricity was free in libya then and it was 24/7. Water was available.. Did u say we don't spend much in Nigeria?

My God :O just a bag of rice is almost 18k bro.. We don't have water, we buy it, we also buy fuel to help generate electricity in addition to NEPA bill. 20k in nigeria is worthless.. Just take that money enter shoprire, e go finish for ur eyes..

Nigeria is worse bro.. Let's stop deceiving ourselves.. Nigerians also made libya bad by trading their fellow Nigerians..

In libya, to buy food stuff are so cheap. Very cheap. Clothing materials are cheap as well. To fuel ur car is so cheap. At the end, u will have enough. Didn't u hear where he said if he had returned with his savings, he would have had enough to open his own business.. That means he had enough savings, just that Libyans took advantage of the situation in libya and collected all the money from him.
If to say oyibo people and Nigerians no spoil libya, na country wey u go enter and build house for niaja within six months.. I know what I'm saying. U earn high in Libya and spend less because things are bleeping cheap.
I can authoritatively confirm your exposition about Libya. Many Nigerians who say rubbish about that country have no idea how it was before Obama and Hilary destroyed it. That country, as bad as it is now, is still better than Nigeria.

Not everyone on nairaland spend their productive hours praying for miracle riches, lots of us actually work hard and run very successful companies.

If everyone turn his ancestral land to places of worship, who will grow the food you eat or produce the goods and services you need?

And that is why Nigeria with all its tithe payers remain one of the poorest countries in the world in terms of income per capital and their pastors remainso the richest in the world.

With all the tithes you guys have been paying for decades, one would think the country’s financial blessings would be greater than Israel who do not pay tithes anymore.

So converting ancestral lands to churches instead of farms or factories would make us rich and prosperous?
We will turn your ancestral land to places of worship. grin grin How many companies have you founded anyway? Keep quiet!

I can relate with ur thinking... the country won't let us choose otherwise, but isn't this were our men of God should come in to leave an exemplary life style... as in we wat difference is there between our pastors and politicians uh!! wealth isn't all about acquiring jets, mansions and all or would u say Jesus wasn't wealthy; He dined with the rich, He rode on an ass or whatever they called it that hasnt been ridden before. His wealth was in people. same kinda of wealth available to our present men of God; they could easily dine with their rich member, ride in their best cars, sleep even in their matrimonial bed, if dey so wish but instead they choose to put their names on frobes magazine aka richest pastors all in Nigeria.. haba!!
Jesus to that rich guy Matthew 19:21(sell and give all to d poor)
Jesus to Peter, Matthew 4:19 (fishers of men) wealth in men not in material things.
one question: how do these your pastors react to poor members eh, don't they see d need to help apart from their prayers for God's blessings upon them, uh... how is this Christ-like eh!
I choose Christ o and pls, my Jesus is wealthy... may God help us all
I won't waste my time trying to open your eyes to the Scriptures. How come the same JESUS didn't ask Lazarus to sell all he had and give them to the poor? So pastors should publish every act of kindness that they offer to the poor? What did JESUS say about giving with one hand without letting the other know about it? TB Joshua is a false prophet, likewise Suleiman. The reason they display their giving all over the airwaves is to launder their image.

No true pastor broadcasts his charity for the whole world to see. Please don't sit in your house and assume that pastors aren't helping the poor. The poor will always be around. JESUS repeated it to his disciple who wanted Him to give up the precious ointment for sale instead of lavishing it on Himself alone. grin grin It is repeated in the Scriptures twice! The poor will always be with you! (Deuteronomy 15:11; Matthew 26:11).

Well you may sell all that you have and give it to the poor because you love them more than GOD does. undecided undecided

Proverbs 6:32-33 KJV:

[33] "A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away."

Jesus Christ!!!

So, that is what they teach you people now? You strive to control the riches of this world?

Whatever happened to these verses:

"Don't store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal.

Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. (Matthew 6:19-20).

Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. (1 Timothy 6:9)

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. (1 Timothy 6:10-11)
Okay I have decided to be wealthy, while you have embraced penury. Can we now end this conversation? grin grin Thank you! grin grin

Why would the devil hate wealthy believers? You think he would hate them because of the wealth or the belief?

I don't know why and when Christianity became so materialistic. They sing "this world is not our home" but yet want to grab everything they can grab from it, even at the expense of eternal life.
Worry about yourself! Poverty will not secure eternal life for you either. Father Abraham was very wealthy. Where is he? Heaven! When did poverty become synonymous with righteousness or eternal life? Believers are not even as rich as GOD desires. Bulk of the world's wealth still lies in the hands of pagans. If not the children of GOD, who should control the riches of the earth?

Flesh and blood has not revealed this truth to you. smiley smiley Obviously the devil hates wealthy believers. He employs defamatory tactics to make them feel guilty for being wealthy. We serve the GOD whose Heavenly streets are built with pure gold! Poverty has no place in us!
