IkennaNweke: An Ikorodu born politician and a scion of the Gbadamosi-Odesanya family, Mr. Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi, who has keenly contested the Lagos gubernatorial primaries twice under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of representing a very serious risk to the existence of the Nigeria construct.
He also air his views concerning the governorship elections which was held in Kogi state and Bayelsa States respectively that was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as inconclusive as gathered from his Facebook account.
Mr. Babatunde O. Gbadamosi wrote: “General Muhammadu Buhari’s body language has been favourable to election malpractices, hence INEC’s inability, under his incompetent and biased appointees, to conduct and CONCLUDE any of the elections they have umpired so far.
“I am of the opinion that General Buhari represents a very serious risk to the existence of the NIgeria construct, and those who prefer it to host of independent, but smaller and probably more virile countries need to be up and doing in the senate,a the only place where he can be legally removed from office before the end of his term.
“I don’t see Nigeria surviving up to 2019 with all that’s going on. Suddenly, the same INEC that returned General Buhari as President cannot conduct elections in on state at a time successfully? What will happen at the general elections?
“Within 6 months, the economy has dipped beyond our worst case scenario imagination. The Naira is exchanging at N250 to a dollar! Buhari appears to have declared economic sanctions against the rest of the world, through his military Comptroller General of Customs, and by so doing, cut down heavily on tax income, both from direct Customs Duties and from Companies Tax that would have acrued from profits that will not be made by companies that cannot collect their trucks, machinery, parts and raw materials from the ports due to the introduction of FEAR as a management tool in the Customs and Excise.
“Food prices, brought down considerably during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, due to his silent but highly effective agricultural policies, have escalated fearfully since Buhari was sworn in, due of course, to a lack of direction arising from his refusal to appoint ministers until the world began to ask embarrassing questions.
“For all his virulent criticism of Fuel Subsidies during the Goodluck Jonathan administration, he has paid more than Jonathan paid for subsidies in the corresponding period last year, yet, Nigeria is now defined by Petrol Station queues. For a former Minister for Petroleum Resources, who has also seen fit to reappoint himself as the substantive Minister in this administration, resulting in the ignominous snub given his minion at the last OPEC meeting, this is an unpardonable, piss-poor performance.
“I don’t even want to get started on security, where over 2,000 Nigerians have lost their lives to attacks by Boko Haram and the brutal Fulani Militia, who both respectively have acquired the dubious macabre honours of first and fourth most brutal terrorist groups in the world. The worst part of the story is the mysterious way in which Nigerian Army soldiers, allegedly mainly of Southern extraction, seem to be dying in disproportionate numbers and in questionable circumstances in this conflict.
“If Buhari cannot manage Nigeria, there is still time for him to resign honorably before his ignominious impeachment. You cannot continue to deliberately mismanage the country and expect us to be happy. You cannot beat a child and tell him not to cry. I do not blame Nnamdi Kanu and the IPOB. In fact, I use this opportunity to call for the immediate and unconditional release of that vocal, abusive and sometimes obnoxious young man. It would seem he’s been right all along. This is serious. |

But come to think of it, wat's the reason for the riot at Aba?
If it's not cos of the fulani herdsmen, den the killing is wrong!
And even if it has to do with d fulani herdsmen, Is the deceased a herdsman?
Bro lets do things with the ryt justice My dear, you just spoke my mind. My people should do justice the right way. If it was that hausa man that stabbed our man then he got properly served but if it was not him why kill an innocent? I will never support such. |

Akshow: Not that I'm supporting Hausas cos they get there own plenty palaver but honestly an average igbo man is a tribalistic bigot. I recently liked their Biafran page on Facebook and it's sickening. The length they will go to to discredit Nigeria and cause agitation among their gullible followers. They post fake pictures and fake stories just to rile up themselves. It's obvious they are yet to learn from the casualties of the Civil War. They live and progress in other people's land more than any other tribe in Nigeria yet they are preaching hate and intolerance. And the comments from supposed educated igbo youths on the buafra page makes me dumbfounded at how people can be filled with so much venom and hate. This is the result. I hope they remember their kinsmen are in their millions in the north. God bless Nigeria. If the killings get out of hand both ways then the centre will eventually collapse bringing about the end of Nigeria. Simple. |

hakanai: May Allah Grant him mercy and eternal rest. For the family the fortitude to bear the loss. May Allah calm the hearts of men and allow them see what is right and control there temper, that we all will remember our duties to our neighbors and there property. That day when we stand before the maker and justice is done, our deeds of good shall exceed our evil deeds and by his mercy we share be amongst the righteous, pious and devout. Amin !!!
Things will get better and I have no doubt Nigeria will get through it. All efforts to provoke, incite or instigate will fall flat and fail to achieve its goal. Some may cry for vengeance but before you do anything remember that for any life you take or any property you destroy Allah will ask you account for It. Be it innocent or guilty! It is also stated we all shall taste death and If it comes what matters is are you prepared. If you are then you should know everything is alright. His time has come and ours shall come too.
As such we should calm ourselves at this time and let the authorities do there job. Please stop acting like we are the ones provoking the core north. You guys have been going about killing, raping and destroying properties/farms and others have been watching. I do not and will never support the shedding of innocent blood. Killing that Hausa man was so wrong if he was not the guilty one. My people should calm down. |
Politics › Re: Photos Of Hausa Man Burnt In Aba Yesterday by MasterofNL: 11:31am On May 06, 2016 |
I blame fulani herdsmen for the recent attacks and these are my reasons.
Firstly, the north has always believed in violence and it works for them. The north started boko haram as a major tool to take back power from the south and it worked for them. El Rufai once described boko haram as freedom fighters and Buhari himself at some point said that a fight against boko haram was a fight against the north.
The boko haram violence was a major reason why Jonathan was pushed out of office. The north threatened us with violence if they didn't get back power in 2015 and it worked for them. Today a northern fulani is in power.
Here again the fulani north is trying to annex lands in the MB and south and have come up with the proposed grazing bill. You will notice that attacks have intensified since the idea of the grazing bill came up and the reason is simple. The fulani is trying to strike fear into the hearts of othe Nigerians by killing, raping and mass destruction to make us accept the grazing bill. The idea is for other Nigerians to say "Please give them their grazing reserves so that they will stop killing us and we can have our peace."
Some southerners are aleady saying this. An example on nairaland is Searchiingforlove. This poster has said that Yorubas should collectively appologise to the fulanis and are ready to offer their lands for grazing reserves so that they can have peace. You can go through his post history and see this for yourself. Also check out one joborskills and see him promoting the proposed grazing bill. THANK GOD MOST YORUBAS HAVE REJECTED THESE ONES AND STOOD UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT.
The north used violence to get their sharia law when there were very terrible religious riots under Obasanjo when many Christians were killed.
The north used boko haram to take back power in 2015. It is true that boko haram existed even before Jonathan became president but they suddenly transformed into a mighty fighting force capable of ceasing territories and attacking military bases. This new boko haram is the one the north came up with to distabilise Jonathan's government. Boko haram before then were being handled by the police and we didn't hear much about them.
The north is trying to use violent herdsmen attacks to establish grazing reserves all over Nigeria and they have their eyes on the MB and southern lands,
Directly or indirectly, the fulanis are responsible for these armed attacks agianst the MB and south. The attacks may not be carried out by local traditional herdsmen but one thing I have discovered is that once they have any issues with any community concerning their cattle, they invite their armed brothers from Fouta Jalon who invade and sack the community.
The big question is will violence work for the core north yet again? Time will tell. |

joborskill: pt][s]As we pray for peace and the continued existence of our dear country Nigeria, some sections of the country needs to understand that violence is not the solution. The recent riot in Aba is a reference point in such cases. It was alleged (without proof) that an Hausa man stabbed an Igbo guy to death and immediately the IGBOS resorted to reprisals. It is so unfortunate that the easterners could react in such a brutal manner. Why can't you arrest the Hausa man and hand him over to the police? Two wrongs will never make a right. How can you kill in order to avenge the death of another? Southerners generally are known to be peaceful either SW/SS or SE. We should not be tempted to act like animals who don't value lives all because of retaliation and jungle justice. The IGBOS should remember they are the most travelled tribe and they have more IGBOS up north than Hausa/fulanis in the SE. The actions in Aba could put the IGBOS in the north in trouble if the northerners decides to retaliate. The north has been known for their aggressive approach to confrontations and in order to avoid a scenario of the civil war, I implore the IGBOS to embrace diplomacy and peace. No body has the monopoly of violence. The northerners and the herdsmen are Nigerians and they have the right to live and do their business in any part of the country. They should not be stigmatised because of the attitudes of a few bad eggs amongst them. The recent Aba clashes is a result of the staunch hatred and bile Nnamdi Kanu preached on radio Biafra. He poisoned the minds of millions of IGBOS and made them un patriotic. He called for the death of Yoruba and Hausa fulanis and the results is the clashes we have today. This is why people like Nnamdi Kanu does not deserve freedom. He is a threat to national security. The solutions to this incessant clashes is to support the grazing bill so the federal government can create grazing reserves for the fulanis in every state of the country. Even the governor of Ebonyi state agreed that the grazing bill is the only path to peaceful coexistence. The IGBOS need to learn from Yorubas peaceful nature. This is why the SW is the most peaceful region in the country. Yorubas are slow to anger no matter the level of provocation. It's not cowardice but diplomacy. I will not support the killing of anyone in any form. We must respect the sanctity of life and stop acting like animals. Until the IGBOS begin to see Nigeria as their home and forget the evil thought of Biafra, they will keep seeing others as enemies especially the northerners. Lord luggard saw a great potential in our diversity before merging us. Let's works together to make Nigeria great. Say no to senseless killings. Btw I'm Yoruba and just making #commonsense [/s] |

Do we really need all this blood shed for grazing reserves? I just checked online and I discovered that sambisa forest is bigger than lagos! Imagine that! I hereby call on Buhari and the senators proposing the grazing bill to earmark sambisa forest as grazing reserve for fulani cattle. Afterall the military has been able to defeat boko haram and chased them out of that big forest. Why leave sambisa forest and trying to annex lands in the MB & south? The imported brazilian grass should be planted all over sambisa for fulani cattle. Problem solved. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sambisa_Forest |

zik4ever: BENUE State governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, has raised the alarm that his people were being suffocated by the invading herdsmen.
The governor, who spoke while receiving the House of Representatives members on Complaint and Public Safety, at the Government House, Markurdi, lamented the pains the people are passing through due to the invasion of the herdsmen, which he said, had already been compounded by economic hardship.
“This is a trying period for us in Benue State. At present, we cannot pay salary of workers due to reduction in federal allocation to the state and the only area we ought to get succour is farming, which many of us have embraced. Regrettably, no one can go into farming now since the herdsmen have taken over our farmlands’.
“As I am talking to you, about eight local government areas in the state had already been taken over by the Fulani herdsmen.”
The council areas are; Buruku, Tarka, Guma, Gwer West, Makurdi, Katsina Ala, Kwande and Agatu.
The governor, who lamented the poor state of the economy and the pains the herdsmen had already inflicted on the people of the state, said there is the need to assist the affected people.
He, however, criticised the policy of creating grazing routes and grazing land for cattle as archaic, saying that ‘in Benue State, we do not have land for grazing.
Ortom urged the government to follow Europe and other nations that had embraced cattle ranch where basic infrastructure are provided for herdsmen
Earlier, the committee chairman, Honourable Aminu Jaji, had said that his committee was in the state on a fact finding mission on the crisis, saying that the house regretted the killings that took place in Agatu Local Government Area of the state. http://tribuneonlineng.com/herdsmen-we-are-being-suffocated-in-benue-gov-cries-out-%E2%80%A2says-state-has-no-land-for-grazing This is serious ooo. The problem is that while buhari is an old man he is behaving like a kid.
The level of maturity expected from him is not what we are getting at all.
Who are Buhari's advisers? I think they are doing a very poor job.
Buhari has refused to visit the east to asure the people since this IPOB agitation started and he is busy issuing threats here and there.
Everything is not gra gra, kill and destroy. This man fails to understand that 2016 is not and can never be 1983.
Imagine a president classifying a section of the country as 5% and wnt on to marginalise them very well.
As long as Buhari continues to think that he can push the east aside, his government will continue to be chaotic and terrible.
It might even get so bad for him that he would be praying for 2019 to come sooner than later so that he can leave office and flee. |

Somebody from nowhere posted this picture on Facebook and "claimed" that his attackers were herdsmen and you just bought the story.
