AcuraZDX:
Lagos State governor Sanwo-Olu commissioned the blue line in December, but it couldn’t start operations because a facility to power the tracks wasn’t ready.

The metro will now use a diesel locomotive for some weeks until the power plant is ready to connect to the tracks.

According to John Ashbourne, an African analyst, while quoting a video of the train being pulled, he wrote;

With his background in innovation, youths can discover jobs jobs jobs again. Transportation still remains a big area to explore in Nigeria because we are still very much ineffective.

Innoson can link with Insurance companies...and they can manufacture and offer direct credit for creditworthy buyers...maybe govt workers with 20+ years of service with sizable salary...and stop waiting on Govt to bankroll them. Trade in...get credit for old vehicles, and buy new Innoson vehicles at less price...then create a recycling parts to break down the cars and ship the scraps to metal companies.

We have a long way to do...but one day we will get there...Govt can even show how community can create community gardens and LGAs can offer home grown solutions to farming. Lots of areas to explore in Nigeria...even seeds sale and fertilizer is huge...buying, delivery and credit payments. Creativity is what we are lacking, but there is HOPE....Renewed HOPE.

How can they park at the airport when it will be going through repairs?

Did you not read where the honourable minister said that the old terminal will no longer be in use?

I've been to the new terminal like 4 times and I must say that the airport it too small to accommodate giant aeroplanes. An Airbus350 cannot park beside B777 in the new terminal.

Are they going to be sleeping at the Terminals? Nope...they can park at the airport and move to the terminals when they are ready to fly out. I cant believe the airlines are dictating to us that they dont want to move...the airport is an eyesour...nothing is organized and check in is terrible. We can definitely do better.

In US, UK, Germany...they will transport by buses to the terminals...or use rails..this is crazy that we keep getting excuses as to why they aint using the new terminals...Nigerians coming into the country into the new terminals and leaving from it will see HOPE. That is what we need.

Cost of Education: Encounter With 4 Siblings Who Trek For 58 Hours From Cross River Border To Cameroon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlE-UmNM3nk

Popular entertainer, Ghana Must Go has encountered four siblings trekking from Obudu border in Cross River to Cameroon, their home country at the end of the academic term in Nigeria where they school.

He was in the area for his entertainment adventure when he sighted the kids whose actual ages are not known but the eldest who is in SS 1 could be about 15 years.

They school in an area called Kotanga in Cross River state from where they go back at the end of every term to their home Kalumo in Cameroon by foot.

When asked why they were trekking, they told Ghana Must Go that they don't have money to hire a bike, popularly called okada back to their home.

The kids said they would trek all night without a telephone or any other means of communication. They said they would use torchlight to illuminate the road path as they proceed on the journey they would have them arrive him in the evening of next day.

When a motorcycle operator, popularly called okada was asked the cost of conveying the four siblings, he said each is N5,000.

On why they left their part of Cameroon to school in Nigeria, the kids said the schools there have all been destroyed as a result of the crisis.

They usually trek back to Nigeria upon resumption of school as well.

Ghana Must Go however offset the cost of okada for the four kids, which stood at N20,000. This enabled them to board two bikes to their home.

He also gave them additional N10,000 which they can change to a local currency upon arrival in Cameroon.

He further promised to make accommodation available for them around their school while also praying for the crisis in their country to be over.

He commended their resilience and courage in making the sacrifice to acquire education.

Sandra said she and her husband have three children together and are not officially divorced.

She explained how she permitted her husband’s new partner, Bright, to reside in their matrimonial home for a span of four months.

According to her, when she requested the young man to leave their house, her husband became extremely enraged and requested a divorce.

The woman also shared that subsequent to escorting her husband’s male companion out of their residence, her husband informed her of his plans to attend a conference in Belgium, followed by a six-month course in Canada, which together covered a span of 6 years.

The woman posted pictures of her husband along with one of her children, whose face was concealed.

Wisdomkosi:
BREAKING!! BUA Chairman, Abdul Rabiu Voted 2023 'Man of the Year'

Nigerian billionaire businessman, philanthropist and chairman/founder of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu, has emerged the 'Man of Year' in the 2023 Leadership Excellence Awards (5th LEEX Awards).

In a Nationwide 7-day online poll monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria, Rabiu polled a total of 568,247 votes to defeat other nominees including Chief Allen Onyema, Chairman, Air Peace; Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, Chief Executive Officer, A.A Rano Nigeria Limited and Aloysius Ikegwuonu (aka Bishop), Founder, Ebubechukwuzo Foundation; who polled 478,117; 286,374; and 68,352 votes respectively.

The prestigious Leadership Excellence Awards (LEEX Awards), the fifth in a row, is organised annually by IgbereTV, the popular online community TV. It recognises and honours the outstanding impacts of leaders across both the public and private sectors in Nigeria.

LEEX Awards also promotes outstanding leaders and personalities whose impacts have been felt in Nigeria’s political, social and economic spheres. The Award also applauds excellence, achievements, performance, humanitarian activities and philanthropy.

Born 4th August, 1960, in modern day Kano State, Rabiu is an illustrious businessman, who is widely known and recognised for his philanthropy across the African continent, through his foundation, the Abdul Samad Rabiu Initiative Africa (ASR Africa). Rabiu was equally nominated for the 'Man of the Year' award category by Nigerians during the last two editions but lost out to Mr. Peter Obi in 2022 and Obi Cubana in 2021.

Abdul Samad Rabiu recently came to the aid of Nigerian educational system with a 5.5Billion NAIRA grant for infrastructural development to 22 Universities and other tertiary institutions. The grant is coming under the ASR Tertiary Education Grants Scheme.

NAN recalls that the new recipients brought to 30 the number of Nigerian higher institutions that have benefited from the scheme. Before the new set, eight Universities in Nigeria had benefited from the Scheme, receiving billions of Naira in grants with some of their targeted projects nearing completion.

The LEEX Awards was proudly endorsed in 2020 by the African Union Economic, Social and Cultural Council (AU-ECOSOCC), and in 2021 by the African Union Film Institute (AFI).

The prestigious 'Man of the Year' Award will be presented to Rabiu alongside other winners of the various award categories on November 4, 2023 in a grand ceremony to be held at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

Properties / Re: N500K Electricity Bill Debt On Newly Purchased House. by MasterTee007: 3:26pm On Aug 23, 2023
So this happened to me but with a different twist. Total bill was about N300k. First, I requested the bills and they were different and some of the things I discovered were

1. Only one bill had the name of the seller but that was not even tied to the house address
2. Other bills were not really tied to the street or house and was in other names ....they claim these names were possibly tenants.
3. One of the names on the bills was also tied to several properties and I was informed it is possible NEPA official or whatever opened bills for several houses in his name.

I reached out to IBEDC and the workers wanted me to pay N150k --- 50% to clear the bills. I asked them if I would get receipt and documents to show that the bills will be vacated...they were mumbling and that was when I knew paying those bills wont eliminate them...they will probably transfer them to the new prepaid meters in the near future which is what they did to another property...the balance never really went away and no proof even the 50% will go straight to IBEDC.

I had to enagage one of their Ogas with all the issues concerning the bills not in the name of the seller, the one in the seller's name is not tied to the street or house...longitude and latitude do not match, and I requested a new bill....9 new accounts were created and that was it.

In your own situation -- if the bill is tied to the previous owner and tied to the house, and the purchase contract did not say as it is with all liabilities, you can sue the previous owner to pay the outstanding because its like fraud. If the contract does say that you bought it with all liabilities then he is off the hook...you can then go to IBEDC to negotiate installements but please collect all proofs and pay into IBEDC account...you can also transfer them into the prepaid meters and pay it off gradually as you load the meter.

Hope this was helpful, and please always ask for all the bills...I resolved mine but I will never buy a house without checking the bills...the house I bought was old without meter, so there was no way to check the account status...all I heard was that they were paying the marketers monthly without bills. IBEDC - most of them are crooks.

NLchief:
I made a terrible oversight of not checking electricity bills before purchasing a house. It just completely escaped my mind till after purchase.

I just found out there's electricity debts of 500k unpaid to IBEDC.

How do I handle this?

I know it will be difficult getting such a negligent
previous owner to pay such bills. sad
