Politics / Kogi Guber: Press Release By Supreme Council Of Igala Nation To Gov.yahaya Bello by mathinips(m): 10:09pm On May 18, 2019
PRESS RELEASE BY SUPREME COUNCIL OF IGALA NATION (SCIN): 17 May, 2019

GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO, STOP DISTURBING OUR ROYAL FATHERS AND STOP DESICRATING THEIR PALACES

We the members of the SUPREME COUNCIL of IGALA NATION (SCIN) world wide at this point in the life of the IGALA nation and by extention the life of kogi state deem it extremely necessary to grant this press release.

Supreme council of Igala Nation is peaceful pan IGALA organisation with membership spread across the globe made up of all IGALAs from Kogi State, Ondo State, Oyo State, Anambra State, Enugu State, Rivers/Bayelsa State all in Nigeria and IGALAs from Democratic republic of Congo plying our trades in different parts of the world.

SCIN deem it very necessary at this point in the life of the Igala nation to call governor Yaya Bello and his Chief of staff Mr. David Edward Onoja to order by asking them to respect his royal majesty, the ATTAH of IGALA and all other Igala royalties by leaving them alone and stopping further desicration of the palace of the Attah of Igala who also doubles as the chairman of the council of chiefs in Kogi State.

Our attention was drawn to a recent weekend political party meeting of Governor Yaya Bello's campaign team held at the palace of the Attah of Igala with the sole objective of innaugurating members of the Governor Yaya Bellos second term campaign team and also with a second agenda of issuing out harsh threats on the Igala and Kogi people who hold contrary political ideologies and views to theirs. This was followed by forcefully getting the Attah and the other Igala royal fathers to move to Lokoja to endorse Governor Yaya Bello's second term bid.

We the IGALA people have absolute respect for our royal fathers who as well as serving as custodians of our culture and tradition also intercede between us and our ancestors from time immemorial. We therefore take total exception to the sacrilegious use of the Palace of the Attah of Igala for unholy political gatherings where open threats are being issued to the people by Mr. David Edward Onoja and his gun carrying thugs. For the avoidance of dought, the Palace of the Attah is a place that unites all Igala people for peaceful and prosperous reasons and also for cleansen of Igala kingdom in times of adversity. It is not a place to draw out guns and daggers against fellow brothers who pose no threat to anybody but whom you have already impoverished by exposing them to hunger and starvation caused by your mal-administration.

We wish to use this press release to also express our distaste and condemn in totality your using of the instruments of the office of the Governor of Kogi state to forcefully drag them to Lugard house for the purpose of endorsing your second term bid.

At this juncture, it is pertinent to remind you that the respected post of the office of Governor of Kogi state was keenly contested for by two illustrious sons of Igala Kingdom, his excellency captain *Idris Ichalla Wada* and his excellency Prince *Abubakar Audu* of blessed memory who both pulled massive neck to neck votes. That providence or political manipulations by the then higher powers that be made it possible for you to occupy a seat that you didn't work for, should have humbled you enough to endear yourself to the hearts of the people by carrying out the wishes and will of the people within the limits of the excessive resources by way of bail out funds, Paris club refunds, ecological funds accruing to your administration coupled with the advantage of being the governor of the least indebted State in Nigeria as at when you were sworn in as governor. Unfortunately, like an 18th century tyrant/ dictator, you choose to turn against the people who generously loved you and accepted you as the divinely chosen youthful digital age anticipated game changer governor, by denying them several months of salary and pensions, terminating the appointments of over 137 senior and experienced KSU University Lecturers of their children, subjecting them to endless screening leading to endless pains and death of many even death by suicide.

Now that election bells have come ringing again demanding for accountability of your stewardship in the last three and half years and realizing that this is the time for the people who once loved and welcomed you but you purnished so terribly, you chose in your ill advised political approach to start running from pillar to post. Feeling rejected by all, like the proverbial King Saul of Isreal of biiblical times, you chose to go and desicrate the palace of his royal majesty the Attah of Igala by getting Mr. *Edward Onoja* your chief of staff and a disrespectul subject of the Attah, to contribute his own quarter of the abormination by threatening fire and brimstone on those who drew attention of the presidency and the highly esteemed national leaders of your party to what is happening in Kogi state. It is worthy of mention here that these national leaders of your party are men of integrity whose names have been written in all high grades of Gold or Diamond before now and whom we all respect. Unfortunately, instead of emmulating such leaders, you chose to go your own unacceptable way and finally decided to humiliate all what is left for us as source of pride and unity, our royalties, by using the instruments of the office of Governor of Kogi state to humiliate them by dragging them to Lugard house and making them to read out a pre-written speech passed to them by Alh. ABUBAKAR OHARE , special adviser to the Governor of Kogi state, a speech in which they where forced to endorse Governor Yaya Bello's second term bid.

We want to make the following Known and clear to you; our royal fathers are the custodians of
Our cultural heritage, artifacts and ways of worship with major roles such as leading us according to our traditions, defending, protecting and promoting our interests and all our cultural values. They also bless us their citizens from time to time and they are happy to perform all these customary requirements. They are not politicians and like father of all that they are, do not chose and anoint some of us their subjects above others. They are not political errand boys of government though help government to maintain peace within their domain despite that should not be seen or treated as errand boys.

By way of advice, If you Governor Yaya Bello have run yourself aground by your style of governance and now looking for intercessors to reach the already battered people of Kogi state, you should leave our royal fathers out of your self inflicted injuries and retrace your steps back to the car time and place were you missed them or better still correct quickly all the wrongs you are being accused of which is no secret before all men and even the high heavens. Recall sacked workers, pay up salaries and pensions, withdraw the arms given to thugs who are now killing themselves and heed the advise or follow the laid down examples of enviable leaders of your party who earlier told you " *go and settle with your people"* and then the people can settle with you. Until then,
*STOP DISTURBING OUR ROYAL FATHERS AND STOP DESICRATING THEIR PALACES*

Read what she wrote below and also see Michael Arowosaiye’s wedding invitation card she shared.

Mike didn’t leave suicide note and he didn’t die because of financial or rent issue. No church abandoned him because of rent. If you know pastor Telena of Shepherd House, you will know he takes very good care of his members and pastors the way he takes care of himself.

Mike left RCCG 2years ago to Shepherd house church Apo, Abuja where he was a worship leader but was suspended 2months ago, his wedding cancelled because of sexual relationship with another girl who leaked his nudes hence he got frustrated because of the embarrassment.

His house in Sunnyvale Abuja was given to him by the church for free.

This narrative that redeem abandoned him is a lie. No body is defending church but you people should stop looking for any opportunity to attack the church and men of God. They are not the reason Nigeria is hard. You didn’t elect them. Channel all your frustrations to Buhari and Fasola that’s not giving us light for days and won’t even give anytime soon.

A Facebook user identified as Bennie Umoren who released the new information claimed that Michael Arowosaiye was not a member of RCCG. She said that Michael left RCCG 2 years ago and was worshipping at “Shepherd House Church, Apo, Abuja where he was a worship leader but was suspended 2months ago.”

She further revealed that Michael did not die of frustration from accommodation issues but because his wedding was cancelled following his sexual involvement with a lady who leaked his nude photos

Yahaya Bello (APC) AKA White Lion
Yahaya Bello will be walking a tight rope between the power of incumbency and the ‘enemy’ within the APC family in his desire to win his party’s ticket and subsequently the election in November.

Going by APC’s performance in the February and March polls under his watch, ordinarily, Bello shouldn’t entertain fears retaining his seat. But his major challenges are likely to come from the decision makers in the party’s top echelon, who are said to be inundated by petitions from groups and individuals complaining about his leadership style.

The odds against Bello are many. Aside well-known opposition to his second term bid by the party’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and national leader, Bola Tinubu, there is also a case before an Abuja Federal High Court involving the sacked Kogi State APC executives, who are in court demanding reinstatement.

However, the restoration of the Haddy Ametuo-led APC state exco, which is loyal to Audu/Faleke faction, would definitely not be in Bello’s interests

Bello is also in the Kogi public court for negative reasons pertaining to his handling of state affairs, ranging from poor attendance to workers welfare to downsizing of the workforce and non-payment of salary.

Babatunde Irukera (APC)
Irukera is a lawyer of over two decades and currently the Director General/Chief Executive Officer, Consumer Protection Council (CPC). Before his appointment as DG of CPC, he was a senior partner at Simmons Cooper partners, a law firm, where Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo was a co-partner.

His record of advocacy and cases in favour of consumers has been outstanding. His experiences range from being in-house counsel to General Counsel and advising senior government officials and key government institutions.

Irukera came into political limelight when he aspired to govern the state in 2015, instantly becoming a toast of the young and old in APC.

After the late Abubakar Audu, Irukera became the next household name in the run up to the 2015 election. He seemed to have things going for him as a frontline aspirant, until his withdrawal from the race on the eve of the August 2015 APC gubernatorial primary.

The news of his withdrawal shocked both his supporters and the general public, for whom his aspiration held hope. It was, however, learned that his last minute withdrawal was a joint decision by the Tinubu/Osinbajo political camp to mobilise for an Audu/Faleke joint ticket, a near-successful venture marred by Audu’s death few hours to announcement of his victory at the poll.

Irukera’s return is seen as apt and foreseeable. It is also seen as work in progress, depending on the final resolution of the Tinubu/Oshiomhole factor.

Jibrin Usman (APC)
He was Nigeria’s Chief of Naval Staff and served under the Goodluck Jonathan administration. Prior to his appointment as Chief of Naval Staff, he was the Chief of Logistics and Director of Training, Defence Headquarters Abuja.

The list of those jostling for governorship ticket in APC was further elongated by Usman’s official declaration. The former service chief, who made his intention known recently, hinged his intention on the need to offer purposeful leadership.

He appealed for support of APC members and the people. He was said to have influenced the establishment of the Navy Command at Banda, Lokoja and Navy Secondary School, Okura.

Usman’s declaration finally laid to rest speculation on which platform he was going to run after several months of consultation. His decision to settle for APC came as a shock after it was thought he would run on PDP platform, especially as Kogi Rescue Mission, a group within PDP, spearheaded his consultation at the grassroots.

Sources close to the retired Naval chief, however, attributed his decision to pitch tent with APC to considerations for federal might and growing speculations within the party that the incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello may be denied APC ticket.

Another reason adduced for his choice is the connection between him and Hajia Salamotu Baiwa, the Kogi-born APC national woman leader, who is said to be mobilising for him.

Last week, the forum of ex-political office holders said it had endorsed Usman’s aspiration.

In a statement signed by the forum’s secretary general, Suleiman
Adaji, the former political office holders, who served under former governor Idris Wada between 2012 and 2016 “are excited to hear the news of the declaration of governorship ambition of Admiral Jibrin Usman under the All Progressives Congress (APC)…”

Idris Wada (PDP)
In the roll call of PDP aspirants, Capt. Idris Wada remains one of the best for the party’s ticket, considering his experience and understanding of the state affairs. A renowned advocate of prudent management of resources and largely seen as incorruptible, a large number of the electorate, especially civil servants, whose role in the determination of Kogi governorship elections cannot be underestimated, have called for Wada’s return.

Dino Melaye (PDP)
Melaye was reelected Senator, Kogi West Senatorial District earlier this year. But beyond that, he has attained the cult-figure of being the voice of the masses in the state. Although going by the popular view in PDP that Kogi East remains the party’s strategic option to produce its flag bearer, not a few held the view that in the event Bello beats the odds to pick APC ticket, the PDP may have to consider picking its candidate from Kogi West for some reasons.
These include the increasing number of aspirants and multiple candidates likely to still emerge from other parties in the majority Kogi East. Another factor is the consideration for power shift; an age-long agitation for power to rotate from Igala to the west of the Niger (Kogi Central and Kogi West). The other factor is the fact that Kogi West has remained faithful to PDP since 1999, and was the only zone that delivered in the February and March 2019 polls, the presidential, senate and one out of three House of Reps polls.

A match between Bello and his estranged friend, Melaye would indeed be one event to behold.

Abubakar Idris (PDP)
Idris, a successful businessman with interests in hospitality, oil and gas, agriculture and mining, is one name that is generating interest in the PDP and fears in opposition parties because of his father’s towering figure. His father, Ibrahim Idris was a two-time governor.

Despite assurances of his neutrality as a party leader in the state, PDP members sympathetic to other aspirants have accused the older Idris of subtle attempt to impose his son as the party’s candidate.

At a recent meeting of Kogi PDP caucus, a visibly angry Idris was said to have threatened to resign his leadership position and quit politics. He was also quoted to have instructed his son to drop his ambition. It was gathered that it took the intervention of top party stalwarts within and outside the state for him to rescind his decision.

Idris has, however, refuted the entire story. He also declared that his only in interest in the 2019 governorship election is to entrench good leadership in the state.

The young Idris has continued to gain endorsements amongst a cross section of the party members. The groups and associations drumming support for him include; Lokoja Leaders of Thought, Koi East Youth Network, Lokoja-Koto Market Men Association, Performing Young Musicians Association; Kogi PDP Women Group; Atikulated Project Nationwide, Kogi State chapter, Kogi Central Coalition and Kogi West Youth Alliance.

The KWYA recently disclosed that it had paid for PDP gubernatorial intent form for Abubakar Idris long before he accepted to run for governorship

Idris Omede (PDP)
A medical practitioner, Omede hails from Odu Dekina Local Government. He was a co-founder and President of Inikipi Club of Nigeria (1993-1996), a socio-cultural group for sensitisation and mobilisation of Igala sons and daughters, particularly the elders with youth participation to enhance unity of purpose, inclusiveness, togetherness, and common interest of the people and the Kingdom for sustainable development.

He was national president, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and President, Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN). His tenure as Commissioner for Health, witnessed the establishment of Kogi State University Teaching Hospital, three zonal cottage hospitals and Kogi Diagnostic and Comprehensive Imaging Centre.

He has been a board member of many federal health institutions, including the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), and Council member, Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN). He was Member, Kogi State PDP Presidential campaign Committee November, 2018 and Chairman, PDP Presidential Campaign committee on Health services, Abuja, February 2019.
He said his governorship aspiration “was borne out of my desire to provide visionary and transformational leadership in our dear state; put the state on the path of reality, trust, restoration of hope, confidence and build an endearing state…”

Erico Ameh (PDP)
A United-States trained security expert and founder of Real Strikers Security Services Limited, Dr Joseph Erico Ameh is a frontline aspirant in the Kogi 2019 guber election. Erico’s aspiration to become Kogi State Governor was responsible for the heightened activities in the main opposition party’s camp, as it has embarked on direct contacts and town hall meetings across the state. No other aspirant has traversed the state’s nooks and cranny as Ameh has done. He has also been assisting the party to meet its financial obligations.

In the run up to the February and March polls, he supported all PDP candidates in the National Assembly and state House of Assembly elections across the three senatorial districts, nine federal constituencies and 25 state constituencies. After the reported militarised state Assembly elections, Erico threw in his weight to enable aggrieved candidates without the means file cases at the Tribunals.

He was the National Coordinator of Professionals for Atiku and was involved in campaigns/rallies in several states. Aside that, when Alhaji Atiku Abubakar came to the state for campaigns, Ameh mobilised PDP members in all the 21 Local Government Areas, by providing transportation.

A grassroots politician, he proved he was on ground in his ward, when he delivered all the 17 Polling Units for PDP in both the state and National Assembly elections.

But you can open a church and start your own extremist christian, maybe in the years to come your church will have grown so big to fight them bk.

sassysure:
Will they listen?

No.
Rather, they will be waiting for God to fight for them.

The Moslems don't wait for Allah, rather they fight for what they believed in and want which is expansion of their religious territories across Nigeria.

Meanwhile Christians are busy killing cats and roaches instead of strategically tackle these guys.
As Moslems know the truth that Allah or Mohammed will do nothing except they act on their behalf so also Christians should tell themselves the truth that what pastors climb pulpit everyday to tell them is nothing but living in uhululand and have focused mind like their religious enemy.

Every sensitive and prominent posts worthy of note in present day Nigeria is occupied by Moslems. And these people have the money and masses and close border allies to back them up.
Go figure.

All u guys do here is make some individuals filthy rich and above u which make u lots very dumb while the Moslem keep on advancing and strategizing.
Pathetic.

Many of you are not smart..take security warning very serious.... ISIS was defeated in syria recently now they are moving to Africa..especially to Libya a destabilise country..this is very dangerous for Nigeria.. there is a war going on in Libya which include ISIL, the libya army and other groups.. a recent bomblast in Tripoli happened recently which iSIL claimed responsibility... Niger is the only country in the middle of nigeria and libya..if ISIL is defeated or not in Libya..they will move down west to Nigeria..join forces with Boko-haram and ISWIL and make Nigeria is terrible place for us..no where will be safe..we shouldn't forget BOKO-haram operates only in the North east..if ISIL join hands with them...even the west and east will be dangerous to live in

Recently ISIS chief came out to get seek allegiance from terrorist groups from West Africa, if this is achieved..it is dangerous, funds and weapons will easily come to Nigeria.. if ISIL takes over libya..the armory will be opened and weapons will come to Nigeria..recruitment of terrorists will be easy...there are many ex Boko-haram fighters in the west and east who have sleeping cells..they can be reactivated to cause trouble.

For Now..no place is safe in Nigeria....

Oga forget all these analysis. There is no reason to fear, something must kill a man. One thing I know is tgat all these are unneccesary propaganda. What do you want an ordinary citizen to do? We voted them to lead us, they employed soilders to guide us. Why complain, why not tell us the actions you have carried out. If they are incompitent they should just resign and let capable hands handle Nigeria.

ASUU presentation to Kogi NLC on the occasion of workers' day.

Following protracted non payment of salaries, the Academic Staff Union of Universities in Kogi State University, Anyigba embarked on a strike action to press for the payment of their salaries. The protracted screening exercise in Kogi State also introduced undue differential treatment in the payment of salaries to the Academic Staff members in the University. Instead of seeking for amicable resolution, the government in tandem with the management of Kogi State University, Anyigba decided to proscribe ASUU as a trade union in Kogi State University, Anyigba and followed this up by terminating the appointments of over 120 academic staff of the University.

Industrial unions have legal basis worldwide, Nigeria inclusive. Every form of violation of the workers' rights is counterproductive and so condemnable in its entirety. The catche 'throw them out of their jobs and let them languish in the court' of Nigerian employers to the labourers is gradually becoming a trend. The share of ASUU in this persecution is unjustifiable. We recall the case of Ilorin 49+ and RSUST to mention but a few cases and now KSU. Nigeria and Nigerians must rise beyond sectoral sentiments and team up with ASUU in its welfarist pursuits and the drive for meaningful and standard University system in Nigeria.

Education / ASUU Slams FG over plan to incoporate lecturers in IPPIS by mathinips(m): 2:31pm On Apr 29, 2019
The peace in Nigeria’s public universities may be shattered soon as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has rejected a move by the federal government to use the 2019 personnel verification exercise to incorporate lecturers into the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS).

ASUU’s position, it was gathered, is that its members were employed by their respective governing councils, and not centrally by the federal government, stressing that it is strange to the world university system for their salaries to be paid from Abuja....

.....The lecturers had cautioned the NUC not to distract them, as they were trying to cover lost grounds occasioned by the six-month strike, insisting that the method of payment negated the principle of university autonomy agreed upon since 1992.

The union has, therefore, directed its members not to fill the 2019 Personnel Data Verification form being distributed by the Budget Office of the Federation.

The President of the union, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, in a letter written to chapter chairmen of the union, a copy of which was made available to journalists in Ibadan yesterday by the Chairman, University of Ibadan chapter, Prof. Deji Omole, directed members not to fill the personnel verification form, describing the verification form as dubious.
