GerogeI:Interesting! A PMW because of it's low efficiency will invariably reduce every voltage to about 12V averagely. So, 12 X 48A = 576W. The only thing saving this charge controller going up in flames is that it can never attain its maximum power generation. 576W is too much power to connect on the 12v system. The rating for a 60w PWM at 12V should be around 360W or less. You are tempting fate. |
silento:I'm curious to know how you connected 6 x 150W solar panels to a 12v battery without surpassing the power setting for 12v on a PWM charge controller? |
McLizbae:You may just be the one edging op to self destruction. I'm perplexed that you can say what you just typed. A PWM charge controller does not have the efficiency of converting excess voltage to charging current like an mppt does. PWM charge controllers are very poor in charging when devices are used simultaneously unlike mppt chargers. Also, for the specification @op is requesting for, increasing the voltage or numbers of the panel is a wasted effort because the pwm will reduce it to match the battery voltage and waste the excess hence it's low efficiency. For op to even use 2-3 panels for a 12v battery on a pwm, they must be connected in parallel to boast current and keep voltage at the level of a single panel or else the pwm will go up in smoke. With all these considerations, if you still wish @op to go ahead with the obvious "white elephant" project, I wish him safe trip. I'm totally off grid for 6 years now and I know what's at play here. |
Mordecai:Hmmm! This is going to be a recipe for disaster. One 250w solar panel at Isc of about 7A on a PWM charge controller will never take that battery to a full Bulk charge of 14.4V. My guy will definitely have issues in less than 3 months after installation because the battery will sulphate from undercharging. I will advise op get more funds and set-up something that will be worth the effort. An MPPT charge controller will be most appropriate because of its efficiency. He will need about 2-3 additional panels for faster charging. My guy, just invest the 350k and do a good job later. You are not ready yet |
colossus91:Greatest UITE!!!!! |
These guys are too robotic in law enforcement. No discernment, discretion or initiative in carrying out their duty. Quota system will not allow the best in such organizations that requires intellect and proactive actions. Can you imagine arresting someone from the front of his house? Those policemen should be charged for trespassing and causing of death by their wrongful action. Or are they going to call this "Die wrongfully" according to King Fela? RIP Alhaji!! |

Nigeria! That refinery should have commenced operations 2 weeks ago according to Kyari. The famed "December" has been announced once more for another" renewed hope" Our politicians have taken upon themselves the job of religious clerics in selling hope than delivering results. Kakistocracy indeed |

Fastest gains in record time but it is not where they met it yet. More naira appreciations please! |
Doing what they were drafted there to mitigate. That corporal is a disgrace to the uniform. He has sacrificed years of service for pecuniary gain and lost all in the end. |
The capital base to start a bank is beyond what a single individual can cough out. With the new CBN guidelines, you will require 50B naira to set up a regional bank and 200B Naira for a national bank and if going international ever cross your mind, then be prepared to shell out 500B naira. Tell me who can cough out such idle amount to be warehoused with CBN before you go about the acquisition of properties and staffing? |
White would have had a better cooling effect than the blue coating from simple physics. Good for aesthetics all the same. |
Those police men are ignorant of the law AS USUAL
|
The notice itself smacks of mischief. Faeces did not block or burst pipe, phlegm did not block or burst pipe, it is semen that liquefies with time that is responsible for thousands incurred in damage. I hail Waterloo! |
Same technology Isreal has used to conquer the hostile environment it is situated and a net exporter of agricultural produce. Worth copying! |
The song by Timaya "Dem Mama"readily comes to mind. Okuama youths already knew the repercussions of their actions when they gleefully used men of our military for "dissection lesson" I can assure you that most of the perpetrators of this heinous crime were already 100s of kilometers outside the crime scene by the time the military moved-in. |
FreeStuffsNG:Merit!! Don't be deceived by her marriage name. Her maiden name puts her around the corridors of power. |
kayusely70:If only you knew who her father is! Don't be carried away by her marriage name. Her maiden name will leave you in awe. |
Probably Low voltage from the grid |
Francis's fight with the gypsy king (Fury) gave him the "liver" to think he has arrived at the scene of traditional boxing. This defeat will definitely send him back to his mixed boxing art. But wait o! The cameronians are not understanding Nigeria these days ! |
It took the gypsy king a trick from his magic hat to get past this cameronian in his debut fight last time. I'm really scared for our AJ. |
The owner of the stolen panels left his/her trail all over (maybe the Internet) for the thieves to know he/she won't be at home for 3 days. |
Football is a universal language, a new religion and a unifier of people from all nations, creeds or political divide. |
High voltage injuries are some of the most bizarre burn injury you can ever see. Things look normal for some days until the devitalized areas show up. |
Those IPOB/ESN guys should know by now that the tide is against them. They nearly collapsed the eastern economy by the way they went about fighting for NK's release edged on by one finnish-Nigerian. They were beginning to look more like criminals than freedom fighters. They pushed their luck too far. |
This is not funny at all! Only registered taxis in approved colours should be allowed to run commercial operations in Abuja and other cities where this menace is rampant. These ones should rot in hell to serve as deterrence to others. |
In the words of Peter Obi, "are they sweet that can be picked from the ground" The collusion and outright complicity of our law enforcement agencies in these industrial scale kidnapping may not be far fetched. |
This is despicable! With the arrests and killings of "Notorious" bandit leaders in recent past, I thought this "industrial scale" kidnapping has finally eclipsed. Is it that easy to move 280 people including children through mostly savannah grassland at this time of the year without being spotted by our aerial platforms? Nigeria we hail thee! |
That's the usual axis of bank robbery. Ayingba - Owo axis. |
At least a sensible person cautioned them not to touch his rifle. The soldier will have had every right to shoot to kill if an attempt was made to disarm him. I commend him for observing utmost restrain even in the face of wanton provocation. |
