If this had always happened, then the embassy won't be making it happen again.
If I understand how scheduling works, if a system is backed up, it may help if its batched and processed through seperate silos to unclog it. Envisage moving student visa out of same room with visit visa.
Appointments for 2024 doesn't make the embassy look good, or help their operations and I am sure they will be trying to fix it.
You provide the class of visa you’re applying for while scheduling your appointment and that’s where the difference lies. If you try to apply for appointments with F1 you’d get dates. If you do with B1/B2 you’d probably get 2022 or no dates.

I want to believe this will help 'reset' appointment dates for B1/B2 and stop that 2024 nonsense
It won’t. Students have been scheduling interviews before now.

You obviously couldn’t comprehend what I wrote.

Yeah my bad on that (da), correction noted.
But she is taking full responsible for all expenses, also she was told about her taxes document and all the other document to give to me when ever i am going for the interview.
I just good tutor on what i need to do or how to raise a good invitation letter.
Thank you
Sir/Ma,
If this is your reason for wanting to visit the US. I will humbly advise you to tell your sponsor to send the sponsorship money to you so that you can use it to setup a business or enjoy yourself in Nigeria. Your reason for going shows immigration intent. There are over 200 million people in USA. Why does she need someone from Nigeria to babysit her child? Can you answer this question?
NB: Invitation letter is as irrelevant as the P in Psychology. VO’s rarely ask for it.

Good day house,
My brother is resuming for summer semester at the University of Central Missouri. He intends to travel to the US 2 weeks before resumption but to Texas first before proceeding to Missouri a few days to resumption. Gurus I want to know if this is allowed under US laws or he needs to go straight to Missouri. Thanks for your response
I don’t think there’s anything wrong In going before your start date provided it’s within 30 days to the date. That’s all I know as to this

Good evening Guys,
please I need assistance on filling the DS form.
I applied for a B1/B2 Visa in 2019 December and got denied on the basis of section 214(b).
Now I am applying for the F1 visa and while filling the DS-160 form I got to a section where i am being asked if i had been denied a US Visa before and i should explain, if yes. Please could anyone assist with the most appropriate explanation to fill in the comment box based on the denial of 214(b)

thanks in advance
“Did not qualify for a Visa under section 214b”. That should be appropriate enough.

Lagos to NYC should be about 10 hours flight that is basically breathing this same air for 10 hours in a plane which might have multiple infected people on board.
My point is Nigerians should be patient at this moment even Buhari the president of Nigeria that loves travelling than any other person is sitting quietly in Aso rock.
People are really dying in America at this moment let's not pretend like we are not aware of it.
I was shocked to see someone on this thread asking questions about conference in the U.S at this time and I just shook my head at level of desperation.

My bro/sis people are dying everywhere not in the US alone. COVID19 is killing people daily all over the world. Those who want to travel should do so, I believe they’ve evaluated the risk before arriving at that decision. Let’s not demonize people’s choices because we have a different opinion.

It depends on the airline.. some airline like Delta and Turkish don’t ask for it
It has changed and it takes effect from 26 Jan 2021. Anyone intending to travel to the US must do a Covid test not older than 3 calendar days prior to departure.

Can I apply newly to RENEW a b1/b2 ?
They’re taking new applications, dates are just filling up quickly and your sister should fill a new DS160 to reflect the change in her purpose of traveling.

Ooh okay thanks much.
You mean I can still file for my K1 visa and it will get approved.
Don’t waste your money and time, there’s a presidential proclamation banning Nigerians on immigrant visas. Maybe the incoming Biden govt would reverse it.

That's a very big lie!
Those who filed after Feb 2020 still got approval
Even those spousal application affected by the ban are still getting waivers and their visas issued.
@chiefdaddy1, you can get first hand information regarding that on visajourney or on the K1 visa thread here on NL
Are you speaking from experience or you heard it from somebody? Because US embassy closed for routine visa services in March so how did people get K1 Visa approval during the lockdown. Please I want to know how they got it? Or you think filing for K1 is a 1 week thing?

The ban does not affect k1 visa
The ban affects K1 Visa because it leads to permanent immigration. Only K1 applications filed before the February 2020 ban are not affected.

Hello, please can anyone put me in the right direction on how to apply for a medical visa for my dad. He has cancer and would like to get the treatment in the USA. I would like to know how to apply for a medical visa. He also got an appointment for visit visa last year, but rescheduled to this year may 2020 because of covid. Can he use the same appointment for medical visa or what is the process for medical visa. Pls help
So sorry to hear about your dad’s condition.
Just apply for B1/B2 Visa, medical tourism falls under this category. For the MRV fee validity I don’t think payments made before the COVID19 period carries that extended validity period. You can call the embassy to get further clarifications. I wish your dad a great and speedy recovery.

why are Nigerian media outlets are twisting the news.
No it does NOT affect Nigerians. It only affects countries whose citizens get single entry visas to the US and has high rate of over stay.
In these affected countries, it doesn’t affect existing visa holders too.
It doesn’t affect Nigerians

1 billion for a house with no smart tech, even the gate is not automatic. This house is obviously overpriced. I’ve not seen anything that makes it different from a 45m house.

Turkish Airline Abj-Instabul-Atlanta.

Flight from Abuja was uneventful, there was no meal just bread and cake twice. Layover was 9hrs40mins at Instabul and I had the choice of going site seeing or free hotel room, I choose the hotel and was given a double room sef. Managed to get proper meal for free of course at the beautiful hotel we were put in, with an amazing view. I will try and attach pictures.
Flight to Atlanta was for 3.50pm and we checked out at 12pm, took about 30 minutes to get to the airport. Passport control etc took less than 30 minutes. Hot to the miles and smiles lounge, ate some more proper meals done a la carte. Finally boarded Instanbul to Atlanta and spent 12 draining and tiresome hours on the plane eith two different bread meals, pretty appaling. Got to Atlanta at 19.47 and my poe went thus:
Where would you be staying....
How long would you be here for? Me: 16 days
Are you carrying any food? Me: None
He stamped and then said "let's confirm that shall we?
Las las they took me to get my bag which was already out. I opened it and they saw no food. However, they saw my vitamins etc but didn't make any fuss.
All in all I spent less than 15 minutes at passport control and the agriculture check so it was pretty fast.
Thank you all for all your contributions and answering our questions.
Nice Have a lovely stay
