For those that have gotten this mail, how long does it take for collection mail to follow.
Someone said this means visa has been approved. Is this always the case?

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.

With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application, our records indicate a decision has been made on your application. We cannot discuss the outcome of your application on-line or by telephone.

If your visa has been granted, a visa vignette (sticker) will be stuck inside your passport with 3 months validity (from the start of your visa) to travel.

You will be contacted by VFS/TLS when your passport is ready for collection, or delivery of your passport.

I don’t think you are counting it right - Aug23 till now (working days isn’t up to 17) Mind you - 29th was a bank holiday. So I bet you are somewhere around 13-14 working days.

Regardless, God will have mercy on us cos the wait isn’t easy.

Though I ve sent the message I got from the UKvi, here last weekend but then I didnt know the effect of what happened until now, I did biometric on Aug23 and on 8th of sept (17days) after bio, I sent paid mail to ukvi and I got this message:--

We have escalated your case to the relevant department on 09-09-2022 and you should be contacted within 15 working days. Please wait until the 15 working days have passed before contacting the service again as we are unable to do anything further before this time.

We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK, until your visa application has been approved and you have received your documents.

House , from the information I gathered ,it is cos of the paid message I sent before the end of 21days after biometric , that got my case escalated , I am totally down now , I didnt know this , I followed a sister that sent her own before the first time frame and she didnt get her case escalated. I am crying as I am typing this message ve gone thru a lot to get to this stage, now my school resumption is 19th of sept with late entry 10th of Oct, with this message sent about escalation coupled with what gurus of nairaland are saying about escalation, may God have mercy on me, I am depressed and worried,pls any way out of this.?

Everyone's application is different, even if you see August 4th, calm down and believe your 15days.

I'll assume you meant September 6th. If yes, you're still within the five working days timeline. Today makes it your 5th day and with an NSF, decision might not be as swift.

You can make a paid call to be sure of your application status.

People do biometrics on Sundays - however it starts counting from working days I suppose.

I did biometrics 20th I took the Risk and bought flexible ticket for end of the month but like this I Dey fear o. If you want to take the risk go for flexible tickets you can change dates for free.

Based on information available to us, resumption will proceed as planned. Welcome week will be shortly after the 10 days mourning period. Activities should go as normal but may be a little relaxed.

UKVI will not really be affected. So, visas will be processed normally.

Communication will go on between you and the University. However, during this period, we will NOT be sending out any congratulatory messages of any kind.
