Most things Jesus taught were not revealed under the old testament because they were saints with limited knowledge. But Jesus came as the truth to unveil the realities of the things of the spirit world.

Sheol is the Hebrew word for hell under the old testament. Hades is the Greek word for hell in the New Testament.

Gehenna I believe refers to the Lake of fire. Jesus called it in some places, furnace of fire. He also called it everlasting fire.

Hell is a temporary place of punishment where lost souls awaits final judgement. Some lost souls go to hell and are given the opportunity to come back to earth. And we have countless thousands of such testimonies.

I appreciate your question. In actual sense, because Jesus never specifically used the phrase, Lake of fire, we just infer he is referring to hell in all context. So, we have to read between lines to discern which one is is referring to, hell or Lake of fire. Honestly, I have never taken my time to differentiate which one is is referring to. I think I will take my time and point out when he is talking about the present hell or the Lake of fire.

Like I mentioned in my response in the other post, I believe Gehenna is the Lake of fire and Hades hell in the New Testament. But I will do more studies on this.
