Good morning house, my 06 corolla suddenly refused to halt when you move the gear selector to park. I equally noticed the gear selector is free and moves from one end to the other freely.

My mechanic is not in town and the mechanic around said it's the gear selecor cable that is affected.

Kindly advice as I am scared of giving my car to any Kazeem

I have been busy with life generally.

My car has been down for about 4 weeks now.

The technician (the guy that was recommended) (Atere in Osogbo) has informed me that the brainbox is faulty and we need to get another one.

He claimed the first guy that worked on the car must have destroyed the brainbox due to negligence/incompetence.

At first, when the car was towed to his workshop, he said he would need to work on the wirings before he can be able to read the brainbox. After a week, he has gotten back to me with this bad news.

I cannot but wonder how a small issue could have escalated to such a humongous brouhaha.

Worse still, it is claimed that the brainbox is scarce in the market.

I'm at my wits end.

Please Mayor2013, help with the scan tool. I will appreciate. The concept for the bcmr is a total surveillance of your vehicle. If a car is stolen and disassembled, there is no way that vehicle will be found. Even when you buy an engine and you get a police report, the information stays at the police station. If a stolen car engine is sold and it is recorded on the bcmr platform, the car will be good for nothing, I don't know how much a thief will make selling engine components and so the thought of stealing will be eliminated. The police with the engine number can detect a stolen vehicle even years later

Update. Car still in my workshop. Next day car went into lock mode and was unlocked using the autel maxi sys elite. After that car was left over last weekend and on Monday refused starting. After proper diagnosis no fault was found we left the ride reset memory and the car started the next day and we drove around. Not a smooth drive though but engine runs smooth. Owner asked us to do further checks. We found this

*Front shocks bad
*Front linkages bad
*Rear shocks bad
*Tie rod and ball joint bad
*Stabilizer bushings bad
*Afs- light on this was triggered by a bad height control sensor. Two where put on the car. Front left and rear left. Front left was broken as a result of bad suspension parts
*Front and rear brake pads weared off

Conclusion about the starting problem was that car needs to relearn so as to get adapted to its new engine

My car is 2003 model of rav 4, it cranks but refuse to start. l have called two auto electricians​ but but no solution. I then ran a scanned got the p0505, which is faulty idle air control valve. My question is can faulty idle air control valve make a car not start. please help.

This fault error would not cause a non start problem on your car rather would make it idle rough. Check for spark, fuel and compression. Those three things must be present for your car to start

Shout out to oga GAZZUZZ, AutoElectNG, honmusa and all who contributed in one way or the other to my problem.
I did exactly as I was told. Showed my kazeem the pictures oga GAZZUZZ sent me on wat to do on the vehicle(we only have road side kazeems for here) and he did exactly. Its an issue of oil sludge on the strainer or solenoid I can't remember d name. The old oil was all flushed out and he said I should buy a 4 litre and 1litre of Mobil 20w50 oil with new oil filter that was all oooo oooo!
We drove the car from umuahia to aba with AC for a journey of about 60km for a function and the fuel consumption was less than 10 litres of fuel it was even as if we drove nothing. The fuel consumption has returned back to normal but the check engine light is still there. I was told its nothing to worry about.

Worry about a check engine light. Invest in a small scanner and run a scan your self. Good to hear your car is in good shape now

Same engine. Different engine harness. Different ECU so engine wire harness cannot be interchanged

Engine bought by multiautolab from our international part supliers was from a Lexus GS350 2011 with 90,000 km covered so far. Car we are working on is a Lexus is350 2006. Engine bought came with its engine wire harness. We still retained the engine wire bought with the engine. It was discovered both harness were not the same so we had to take it out and reuse old engine harness.

Coupling still going on. Scanning of the ride with the autel maxi sys elite would follow shortly

So far all this has been done except for change of ignition coils but I think the bad coil should show using a scanner but it's random, plus why does it go back to normal when I off the vehicle and restart it. Thanks Mayor2013

If all this has been done and you still have a misfire. Job isn't yet completed. Car needs a proper diagnosis.
