This is why you are worried. If WES evaluated it as Post Graduate Diploma, you should choose two or more degrees/diploma/certificates. Do not choose Professional degree. You should instead reapply to ICAS, ICES or others for evaluation: Indians do this when they don't get satisfactory result from WES.

You can try ICAS or others, they have assessed people's law school credentials as a professional degree in the past, yours shouldn't be different. WES is just disappointing.
Thanks

Nigerians and Mr Thomas Doubter!

Why ask this kind of question?

I expect you to ask if WES or other bodies doing ECA has assessed anyone's law school credential to be so equal.

That's what WES or other bodies doing ECA will assess your credentials to be.

Your credential is a professional degree needed for licensing. It doesn't mean it's a master's degree; if WES or others assess your credentials to be so equal, so it's.

Your academic credentials alone doesn't determine whether or not IRCC will approve your EE application.
WES actually evaluated it as Postgraduate diploma (one year)

So I should not choose masters of professional degree needed for licensing ?

I will appreciate information for anyone that has experienced the same issue.

I chose it as Masters or equivalent when submitting my application so I now worried if it will affect my application.

Master's degree or Professional degree needed to practice in a licensed occupation.
Thanks @ShowYoung,

Do you know if anyone’s application has been approved with it.

For Express Entry profile, what equivalent do you choose for Nigerian Law school since WES evaluated it as a Post Graduate degree

How does one request for the travel exemption letter from IRCC for his Spouse and Children that wants to apply for the accelerated visitors visa.

Do Children below 13 years need COVID vaccination ?

Hello Nairalanders,

I applied for SP without my family for obvious reason and started online before my visa was approved towards the end of my school program.

I am now in Canada. I am working and have received my PGWP after completing my studies.

I want to apply for my wife and family to come over to Canada.
[color=#000099]
1. Is it better to apply for visitors visa and change status when they come in ?

2. Should I apply for spouse work permit and study permit for my kids ? What additional documents do I need.

I have checked part of the thread but all I see is people with Study Permit applying for family and not PGWP.

OCT202020:
I think it means any form of online studies before an individual's visa approval won't count when applying for post graduate work permit. In other word, it's going to be prorated.

And those with an approved visa who's completed their studies right from their home country, are eligible for pgwp corresponding to their years of study.

Thanks

That's why it's not advisable to start an online classes without approval.

Hello House

Please I have two questions.

1. If you have a Study Permit already awaiting approval and you also want to create a profile for EE, do you create a new profile or do your add it to the exiting SP application ?

2. If you want to reapply after a refusal, do you create a totally new profile and add the UCI number or do you add the new application to the refused one ?

Thanks in advance.

Finally got my Passport back after about 4 weeks...
Timeline:
PPR: - 27th January,2020
Passport submission @VFS Abuja: - 28th January,2020
Passport return & LOI :- 25th February, 2020

I feel so relieved.
Mine was a tough wait. I hope nobody else has to wait that long.
The feeling of having the study permit is so surreal. Definitely worth the wait.

Good luck to everyone that is on this journey. Remember, What God cannot do does not exist!

Thanks to all the gurus! (I’m sorry, I can’t seem to remember their handles now)

I have been a silent member of this platform, but I must confess that I have benefited a lot; that is why my conscience have not allowed me to rest without coming back to share for the benefit of others, just like I was also blessed by others.
So, Permit me to share my testimony to inspire or boost someone’s hope.

• I started this journey in 2019, I started by doing a lot of research (Nairaland, etc.), university portals, websites, and all that
• Jan 2020 I travelled to my Nig uni to collect a student copy of my transcript and started applying for admission in Canada

Educational Qualifications and experience are as follows:
- B.Sc business Administration - 2004
- MBA (Human Resources) - 2014
- Total 15 years post graduate experience
- Recent experience: 5 years procurement role
- Preferred course of study - pgd Human Resources
- Canada institution - university of Winnipeg (fall - sept2020 intake)
- Conditional Acceptance letter - April 2020
• Visa application timeline:
Online Application submitted - June 14, 2020
• Documents: -
I created 7 folders and scanned all these documents into them:
Folder 1 - Study permit form (IMM ...)
Folder 2 - Data page; photocopy of previous visas. (Canada visitor visa 2019, Dubai 2015, China business tourist visa 2013) Note: all these visas were expired at the time of application
Folder 3- Letter of acceptance; Receipt of payment for school fees; MBA transcript; B.Sc transcript; A WELL WRITTEN SOP (notarized); CV; All educational certificates;
Folder 4- Financial support documents (Reference letter from bank; Bank statement for 4 months (Bal - about 10m); bank e-statement for 6 months; pay-slip, employment letter, study leave letter (note:I wrote and signed ball these office letters by myself even though I used valid contact phone no and informed my colleague); sigma pension reference letter; Narration of income letter; property offer letter (worth 30m but not fully paid for, included my receipt worth 8m); change of name documents; notarized convent letter from spouse; Narration of income letter ( as at middle March 2020 I maintained a balance of about 4m (inflow of about 20m within 3 months) then I lodged in the additional 4-6m within March to June when I submitted my application ( I tagged each payment with a narration - e.g, sale of car, sale of land, etc. )
Folder 5 - Digital passport
Folder 6 - Pre- medical (IOM); police certificate; biometric certificate (remember I had been issued a Canada visitor visa last year)
Folder 7: Family information form (IMM .....)

I would also like to state that I opted to use an agent, this is because I didn’t want my usual procrastination to delay me. I wanted someone to put me on my toes, but that even proved wrong as she was so relaxed, all he did was gave me a list of documents as seen above; I filled the forms myself, did all the paperwork myself; even SOP was written by self; after I sent the documents I was even the one putting pressure and asking... Have you submitted? Have you submitted?
Fast forward to...
AIP - August 5, 2020
Online classes - August 2020

The legendary wait started, Anxiety mixed with full time online school, full time job, etc. ‘mBe patient, No update!’’ was the only response I always get from the agent no matter the long message I type...lol it was frustrating not been able to access your application by yourself sha. The agent was also physically and worse still emotionally unavailable for me... lol
I am not discrediting any agent but personally I can say that I didn’t see the need for me to. All the agent did was to give me a list, which I had already gathered from my research here, and the IRCC website. So it’s safe to say that I paid for a list of documents, and for someone to just submit my application (waste of money I think); But work with your conviction and depending on your case too.
January 3 2021 - submitted a webform, no response till now
January 17 2021 - I requested for GCMS via getgcmsonline.com, no response on that as well till now
January 27,2021 - PPR
Submitted passport @ DHL with printer PPR letter and biometric certificate on January 28, 2021.

Canada PR/citizenship dream loading! All glory to God!

Last advice to anyone on this journey: (1) Have a trailer load of patience! (2) please spend time researching, read!read!read! Please! I’m not saying don’t ask questions or seek guidance but please make sure it is very reasonable please!

Please I am going to put this out there in advance, I might not be available to answer questions on this as I am very very busy and that is why I am doing a very detailed post.

I decree my testimony in anyone waiting on this line of miracle! It will end in praise!

Additional timeline
• Sponsor – Self (married but single applicant)
• Age – 35
• Application type - online
Also, Visa denials to UK and USA previously (I scanned this refusal letters to the agent, I don’t know if she included them)

Please see attached. Confirm before you go ahead please.

Also I think the transmission fee takes care of the slip.
What if you used Abuja for your 1st application that was rejected and you are now using Abuja for PPR for a 2nd application that has been approved.

do you still pay transmission fee ?

Welcome to Spectranet live chat, how may I be of assistance
I am coming to Nigeria for one month
while there, my online classes are on, so which data plan do I have to get?
We have several monthly plans, however you can go for the unlimited gold plan for N18,425
ok
unlimited in the correct sense of it?
It has a fair usage policy of 100gb after which your data speed reduces to 512kbps
Will 100GB do me with respect to 8 courses?
what the speed before FUP?
The speed is not capped
It is unlimited
What is the speed?
There are videoconferences
100gb should be enough to run your courses, however we have another plan for 19,450, the unlimited diamond plan
It Has a FUP of 500gb with a maximum speed of 4MBPS
ok
What is the highest unlimited plan for one month?
Here in Canada I pay $60 for everything I do in one month
I want to get the sense from there on the likely speed and cost. Only coverage is certain at this point.

My discussion with an agent. I just want speed and data that I don't have to worry about capping. Chai!
NTEL gives you 150GB for N18,500 and presently they are adding 50% bonus to give you 225GB.

However, check other networks and compare

So if permit never got approved, one can just finish off in Nigeria if school allows it?

My main concern is the network you guys in Nigeria are using for the online classes.

I am in Canada, coming to Lagos for one month and I need to continue my classes.

Which network serves best, data plans and co?

Guys put mouth abi hand sef. Thanks.
NTEL is fast, reliable and have good monthly bundles that you can even use to watch Netflix as well as attend lectures.

Just visit their site

Chocs:
Hello, I’m sorry to hear about the refusal. Please make sure you order her GCMS notes before reapplying. It will show the exact or a more specific reason why she was rejected. What was written in the refusal letter is a bit generic. After you get the GCMS notes, you can work on the problem and reapply. The note can take up to 35 days to arrive and it costs $12. You can google “GCMS notes” to see how to apply for one. All the best
Thanks

My sister’s application was rejected by IRCC today based on home ties and getting employment in home country. However, she has started her online classes this September 2020.

She is confident that she can address the issues raised but the question now is :

1 How soon can she reapply.
2 Can she use the same documents before and add LOE.
3. How long is the reapplication process likely to take to enable her know if she can continue with her online lectures.

This is what you can do... Tomorrow, go sign an affidavit of name stating your real name and date of birth as it is in your application status and international passport. On the day of the biometrics, pls go with both documents. If the error is also in your visa application portal, all you need to do is after the biometrics, send the affidavit via webform notifying them of the error and the affidavit has the correct name
Court or Notary Public

Please I need help, I just found about now after booking for my Biometrics for August 24th that my name is not showing correctly in my Biometric letter. E.g. Full name is Obi Tony Agu, but my letter is showing Obi Agu Agu. I submitted application since July 4th and I am just noticing it.

Account name on my profile is showing the correct name but on the status where it shows that I have read all my messages, I am seeing Obi Agu Agu (that is 1st name and surname twice)

Someone kindly advice me on how to rectify it.
