 The Local government Councils affected.
NOTE: the request must be supported by 2/3 majority of the members representing the area at every stage.
In the case of the National Assembly members, representatives of the areas in both Houses must be counted together to determine the 2/3 majority required under the Constitution.
STAGE II
 The proposal requires approval of National Assembly and State House of Assemblies concerned.
 The votes required at this stage are simple majority of both Houses of National Assembly and the State Houses of Assemblies.

This is an opinion poll, but no one seems to be voting above?

Two party system is good so long as more serious and stronger parties swallow smaller parties, not by constitutional or electoral law provision.
Even in America, there are still smaller parties, The Democrat and Republican are just the two most powerful.

PoliticsRe: Do You Support A 2 Party System For Nigeria? by Mbeki(op): 10:07am On Oct 10, 2009
The way they are going, I doubt if they are even serious about amending the constitution as most of the recommendations of the ERC (Electoral Reform Committee) if implemented will not be in their favour. Just Imagine Sen. Folashade Grace Bent, suggesting that Tenure of office should be as long as the legislators can win election as change in legislators every second term is responsible for lack of continuity of policy.

The Senate Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution resumes a retreat today in ASA Pyramid Hotels in Kaduna.
After the presentation of His Lordship retired Justice Mohammed Uwais on the Topic, Electoral Reform in Nigeria, Senator Maeba Lee (PDP) Representing Rivers South East advocates that a two party system should be entered into law. He states that the only credible election the nation has ever heard was during the SDP and NRC days under option A4. Most senators supported his advocacy,
what is your take on  this?
Senator Lee also wants the constitution to remove the clause that restrict people's movement during election as the same constitution gave the people  freedom of movement.

NOW LET'S REPROGRAM THE WHOLE PROCESS, FOR A KIDNAPPING FREE NIGERIA
2009- AMNESTY GRANTED TO NIGER DELTA MILITANTS, BY YA'ADUA ; MILITANTS ACCEPTS AMNESTY
2009- SERIOUS POLICY TO PUT STUDENTS IN SCHOOL AND TO STOP STARVING THE ALREADY HUNGRY LECTURERS
LATE 2009 TO MID-2010, REINTEGRATION AND EMPOWERMENT OF MILITANTS
3RD QUARTER OF 2010, SPEEDY DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGION,
PROVISION OF STEADY POWER SUPPLY THAT WILL KEEP SERIOUS MINDED PEOPLE WORKING AND THE UNSERIOUS ONE WATCHING TV/MOVIES FOREVER

AND TELL ME WHO WILL HAVE TIME TO KIDNAP?? MR SNOWFALL, ALL I KNOW IS THAT THE AUTHORITIES SHOULD DO WHAT THEY GOT TO DO, FOR THINGS TO WORK OUT.
THE WORST IS THAT THESE KIDNAPPERS ARE FACELESS AND COWARDS, THAT'S MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR THEM TO BE APPREHENDED. WE ARE FACING A MONSTER WORSE THAN THE NIGER DELTA MILITANTS.
PoliticsRe: Death Penalty For Kidnappers - 36 Govs Advocate by Mbeki: 2:58pm On Oct 07, 2009
LET ME GIVE YOU THE CHRONICLE OF KIDNAPPING IN NIGERIA

1958 OIL WAS DISCOVERED IN OLOIBIRI
1960-LATE 1970 THERE WAS OIL BOOM, NIGERIA'S PROBLEM WAS TOO MUCH MONEY, PROBLEM HOW TO SPEND IT.
1980-1990- SOME SMART GUYS SAW REASON WHY THEY SHOULD USE THEIR POSITION TO LOOT THE EXCESS MONEY, IN DOING SO, THEY NEGLECT NIGER DELTA.
1990-1995- NIGER DELTA PEOPLE CRIED BLUE MURDER, AND THEY MURDERED THEIR KEN SAROWIWA FOR SQUEALING
LATE 1990'S TO EARLY 2000- KIDNAPPING OF EXPATRIATES AND OIL WORKERS IN THE NIGER DELTA REGION
MID 2OOO- KIDNAPPING SPREADS TO NEIGHBORING STATES IN THE NIGER DELTA
2006- POLITICIANS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS IN THE SOUTH WERE BEING KIDNAPPED
AND NOW-- KIDNAPPING IS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY-----
PoliticsRe: Death Penalty For Kidnappers - 36 Govs Advocate by Mbeki: 2:41pm On Oct 07, 2009
@SNOWDROPS
IF YOU READ BETWEEN THE LINES OF MY POST, YOU'LL SEE THAT AM NOT SUPPORTING THEM (KIDNAPPERS). THE LAW HAS STRICT MEASURE AGAINST ARMED ROBBERS, BUT WE HEAR OF ARMED BANK ROBBERY ON DAILY BASIS. IF THERE IS PROVISION OF BASIC AMENITIES (JUST BASIC), YOU AND I KNOW THAT THE RATE OF CRIME WILL REDUCE. BUT WHEN CERTAIN CLASS OF PEOPLE HIJACK WHAT BELONGS TO EVERYBODY, THERE ACTION IS CAUSING A LOT OF ANGUISH TO OTHERS; THESE LESS PRIVILEGED ONES ARE THE ONES RESORTING TO KIDNAPPING AND OTHER VICES.

texazzpete:
No. You are the mad one for offering tacit support to kidnappers. Something doesn't have to happen directly to you before you can understand. Do you know the emotional trauma to the loved ones of the kidnap victims? Do you know how many have been killed or maimed by their captors? The traumatised babies that will not speak for days, the victims that are rendered paranoid, fearful wrecks - what do you know about them?

Not everything has to be related to 'thieving government officials and politicians' in this miserable country. Kidnapping is a heinous, terrible crime and it must be met with the maximum force to curb this.

I support the death penalty for these people 110%.
@ texazzpete.
YOU SEEM TO BE THE TYPE THAT TREAT THE SYMPTOM INSTEAD OF THE AILMENT, HAVE YOU SAT DOWN TO ASK YOURSELF WHY KIDNAPPING HAS SUDDENLY BECOME A PHENOMENON IN NIGERIA? IF THOSE IN AUTHORITY SHOULD STOP SHARING THE MONEY THAT IS MEANT FOR THE ELECTORATE, AND DELIVER JUST A LITTLE DIVIDEND OF DEMOCRACY, THIS KIDNAPPING WILL STOP.  BUT AS LONG AS THEY THINK THEY CAN JUST THREATEN THE KIDNAPPERS ON THE PAGES OF NEWSPAPERS, THEY ARE WASTING THEIR TIMES. SO BY BRODA, NOTHING STARTS FROM NOTHING. THOSE IN AUTHORITY ARE REAPING THE FRUITS OF THEIR GREED!

VERY FEW NIGERIANS READ, AS SUCH THEY ARE IGNORANT OF THE TRUTH. THE ONLY THING THEY BELIEVE IS WHAT THEIR PASTOR TOLD THEM IN THE CHURCH. THEY DON'T EVEN READ THE BIBLE ON THEIR OWN TO KNOW ANY OTHER THING APART FROM THE BIBLE VERSES THE PASTOR QUOTES IN THE CHURCH, VERSES FROM THE DEVOTIONAL BOOKS AND OTHER BOOKS WRITTEN BY THE SAME PASTOR. TAKE A JOURNEY FROM THE BOOK OF GENESIS TO REVELATION AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND GOD BETTER. THEN YOU'LL BE ABLE TO X-RAY THE PASTOR'S SERMON IN THE LIGHT OF BIBLE TRUTH.
BUT HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SUMMON THE COURAGE TO READ THE BIBLE, WHEN AN AVERAGE NIGERIA STUDENT ONLY READ HANDOUTS WHEN THE EXAM IS JUST 2 WEEKS AWAY. EVEN THIS REPLY OF MINE IS TOO LONG FOR SOME PEOPLE TO READ,  THEY'LL JUST LOOK AT IT AND SCROLL DOWN. EVEN THE BIBLE SAID in  Hosea 4: 6 (KJV) My people perish from a lack of knowledge.
GO AND RESEARCH AND YOU'LL BE AMAZED AT THE AMOUNT OF TRUTH ABOUT GOD THAT HAS BEEN HIDDEN FROM YOU JUST TO CONTROL YOU. THE PROBLEM WITH BLACK MAN IS THAT HE BELIEVES WITHOUT ASKING QUESTIONS, HE DOES NOT PUT ANYTHING TO TEST. THAT IS WHY THEY'VE BEEN SLAVES SINCE CREATION AND POORER THAN OTHER RACES,

LEST I FORGET, I SENT THE MAIL BELOW TO THE SPEAKER HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. HERE IS HIS E-MAIL: bdimeji@nassnig.org, AND LINK TO HIS WEBPAGE.http://www.nassnig.org/house/member.php?member=2&page=6

[b]Your Honourable Sir,
I want to congratulate you on the marvelous work you are doing in leading members of the House of Representatives.
I however wants to draw your attention to what transpired between Hon Chinyere Emmanuel Igwe and a National Assembly Security man on 10/09/2009 at about 11:00 am.
I am not going to repeat the whole episode again as I am sure the news must have reached you as at the time of sending this e-mail.
For a lawmaker to slap someone whose duties is to protect him(lawmaker) is a condemnable act that is unacceptable by Nigerians. Just Imagine that the Security man allows a terrorist access to the white House, I don't think it will be a sweet experience(or do you think terrorism is only limited to middle east and America?. The lawmaker in question was not dressed properly like an Honorable member, why did he think he should be seen as one? (THE WAY YOU DRESS IS THE WAY YOU WILL BE ADDRESSED)
If the Security man asked him to identify himself. he should have just smiled and say "my friend if you don't know me, I am Honorable so-so-so" finished!
To this point your Honorable sir, I demand that Hon.Chinyere Emmanuel Igwe should be punished for tarnishing the Image of the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,by portraying them as leaders who don't respect their follower.
I trust the wise and bold manners you with which tackle issues; as am sure necessary discipline action will be taken against Hon.Chinyere Emmanuel Igwe. We shall be posting his heinous attitude on all forum on the internet for the whole world to see. We are no longer living in a slavery era.LET US REBRAND NIGIGERIA
I rest my case.
Thank you sir!

It's a pity!
Nigerian banks are known to be unconcerned  to customer plights especially when it comes to loss of money or properties.

The simple precaution is avoid as much as you can to going to the bank premises with Valuable items

Show your items by the door and insist on taking them inside

Insist your items should be locked up in a locker and the whole 3 keys given to you

If they refused, go to another branch of the bank and carry out your transactions

Anything apart from the above, you'll have yourself to blame. very few lawyers in Nigeria knows how to fight big clients.

The man need to be brought to book by mass condemnation of his action. Any Human Rights Lawyer should fight for the helpless security man.
The Press should condemn it in the papers
we should not allow lawlessness to thrive in Nigeria, else our children will become slaves in their father's land.
I doesn't cost anything to pass these to the International Community. (Just send it by a few keyboard strokes and a click of mouse)
The man must be removed from the seat and banned from public office.
