Group accuses US as brain behind Amnesty International’s plot to unsettle Nigeria
May 23, 2018

Latest News

tyA group, the Progressives Yoruba Youth Congress, PYYC, has cried out to the international community over a plot by the United States of America’s backed self-styled human rights watchdog, Amnesty International to use fictitious reports to create tension in the country.

It said the report was targeted at discrediting the Nigerian military on its fight against insurgency.

The youth group therefore called on AI and its agents to come out clean on their plots to heat up polity in the country through its conjured report.

Comrade Akintola Festus, national leader of the group, while addressing newsmen on Wednesday, drew the attention of the United Nations (UN), the European Union and other international bodies to what it described as plots by AI’s local franchise to promote terrorism in Nigeria.

Festus lamented AI’s periodic reports, which accused the Nigerian military and sister security agencies of human rights violation in their efforts to bring a lasting peace to this entity called Nigeria.

The youth leader decried that the international agency is doing everything possible to see a stage-managed implosion in Nigeria, a country gradually and steadily recuperating from bile terrorism.

He, therefore called on the Nigerian government to without delay commence the process of the expulsion of Amnesty International from the country.

His speech reads below.

“We believe we are aware of the difficulties experienced in the past administration in checkmating terrorism, especially Boko Haram, IPOB and the Islamic Movement in Nigeria has reached alarming proportion for all Nigerians to be concerned.

The manifest cruelty and appetite for bloodletting in atrocious acts and heinous crimes against Nigerians by these sects is legendary. And we know the sects are ennobled by the sponsorship, funding, and backing of foreign forces bent on foisting evil on our land to destabilize our country.

“We are persuaded to draw the attention of World bodies like the European Union (EU), the United Nations (UN) and the Federal Government in Nigeria about some twists and ugly developments concerning winning streaks of Nigerian military against Boko Haram terrorists.

“We strongly suspected sustained and covert actions and activities of terrorists agents, particularly, some international organizations’ domiciled in Nigeria who are discreetly working day and night to promote the scourge of terrorism on Nigeria.

“The Republic of Iran has never concealed this devilish plot on Nigerian and the leaders of these sects, particularly, Boko Haram factional leader, Abubakar Shekau have also affirmed this fact. And the dragnet of sponsors, paid agents and sympathizers’ with terrorists in Nigeria is expansive and obscure. These covert agents operate under different official or unofficial banners.

“To this end, we have realized lately and suspect a strong bond between the Iranian Republic, Boko Haram terrorists and the Amnesty International (AI) in festering the menace of terrorism in Nigeria. AI is an international organization whose mandate is to conscientiously monitor human rights violations in the countries they operate.

“We also note that AI has strong affinity with the United States of America (USA). AI is America’s pet child and America has this inglorious history of dubious interventions in the internal affairs of developing countries like Nigeria.

“AI’s periodic reports are usually based on unsubstantiated allegations and falsehood, alluding to rights violations perpetrated by the Nigerian military and sister security agencies. The reports are primed to limitlessly and baselessly indict the military; while emboldening the terrorists in their suspected sponsored assignment to destroy and delete Nigeria from the map of the world.

“We are mincing no words to assert that no external force can govern us; we must govern ourselves and the rude disrespect by AI to testify before lawfully constituted Probe Panels is an undisguised affront on the powers and sovereignty of Nigeria.

“AI is doing everything possible to see a stage-managed implosion in Nigeria, a country gradually and steadily recuperating from bile terrorism.

“Therefore, we plead with our international partners especially the UN to undertake a critical investigation into the sinister operations of Amnesty International in Nigeria and the complicity of the US Government. We have every cause to suspect AI and America’s covert support of the organization in the evil conspiracy against Nigeria to promote terrorism, an idea hatched by foreign forces against the unity and peace of Nigeria.

“We consequently, call on the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) to immediately commence the process of the expulsion of Amnesty International from Nigeria. Nigerians cannot compromise or allow anybody or organization, not even AI and its local franchise to reverse the gains the country has recorded on the terrorism war. We are not prepared to return to the dark days of reckless bombings, agonies and deaths arising from terrorism.”

There was commotion at the Kano State office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as supporters of a former Kano State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Aspirant, Ibrahim Shekarau, got detained by the anti-graft agency.

Recall, that Ibrahim Shekarau had recently declared to contest for the 2019 Presidency, on the platform of the PDP.

A witness revealed that hundreds of supporters of Shekarau thronged the Hajj Camp Road office of the anti-graft Agency, to protest what they called “persecution” by the Agency.

Shekarau arrived at the EFCC office, but was however blocked from gaining entrance into the Agency’s premises by his supporters.

The overwhelming crowd almost overpowered security personnel on duty, who had to call for reinforcement from sister security organisations.

“The Police had to use teargas and fire some shots in the air, to disperse the crowd”, a witness, Abba Yunusa, said.

As at the time of publishing this report, Shekarau was still being detained at the Agency’s office.

The former Governor and the co-defendants, are expected to be arraigned on Thursday, before the Federal High Court, in Kano, on charges of money laundering.

Shekarau’s Media Assistant, Aminu Sule, has alleged that the former Governor was being persecuted by the Agency for his criticism of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The EFCC however, in a statement on Wednesday, stated that it had concluded arrangement to arraign Shekarau, alongside three others, before a Federal High Court, in Kano, on Thursday.

Shekarau will be charged alongside, Aminu Wali and Mansur Ahmed, for allegedly conniving to collect N950 million, part of the $115 million allegedly distributed by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, ahead of the 2015 general elections, EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed in the statement.

“It is further alleged that the defendants distributed the money without going through a financial institution, in clear violation of provisions of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act.

“The defendants are currently being detained at the Commission‘s Kano Zonal Office, awaiting their arraignment tomorrow”, he said.

Presidency Seriously Warns Nigerians, Reveals The Terrible Consequences Of Voting President Buhari Out Of Power In 2019

The Presidency, has warned that the People Democratic Party, PDP, will reverse the achievements the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC, has made since coming into office, if it wins the 2019 Presidential election.

The Presidency, in an article by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, stated that the removal of President Buhari from power in 2019, will result in the return of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC, to the old order, where they were kept as toys, or bulldogs whose teeth had been removed.

The article reads in part: “The real meaning and cost of the ‘Changing the Change’, is that if they win the next election, they will take us back to where we were in 2015, they will mostly reverse the progress the APC has brought to the nation. The main reason for the defeat of the PDP in 2015, was corruption. The present administration at the centre led by President Muhammadu Buhari, has so far presented a corrupt-free image of itself. It has also succeeded in abolishing grand corruption at the top, and as attested to by the American President, Donald Trump. The government has significantly brought down the level of corruption in the whole country. It has, however, warned over and again that corruption was fighting back.

“Many who are discerning would have read this from President Buhari’s speech, when he inaugurated the impressive new headquarters building of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, a week ago. He narrated how and why he was overthrown as a Military Head of State, in the 80s.”

“In that speech, he said not only was he kicked out because he fought corruption, the ones who took power freed all those that he had jailed, and whatever they stole was returned to them. He took their place in prison and stayed there without trial for 36 months, until that day when a Journalist in Benin, now in Edo, broke the story that he had lost his mother. That was when he was allowed to go home.

“The real difference between the PDP and the current APC administration, is that although they mouthed a flood of rhetoric against corruption, in fact rightfully lay the claim of founding the institutions now in the forefront of fighting corruption as a government, the EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC, they had intended to keep them as toys, or bulldogs, which teeth had been removed. No, they never intended that the war against corruption would be taken this far.”

“To change the change would mean that the teeth of the bulldog will be removed. It would then only bark, but not bite.

“In this country, politics is often considered as a synonym of corruption. The previous government came under huge criticism, for scandals like that discovered in arms procurements in the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA, which transformed itself into a major source of funding of the PDP; NNPC crude oil thefts, broadband spectrum licensing scandal, oil subsidy scam, and so many others, but the present government has not faced any such corruption allegations.

“Although, he said he was unafraid and would not bend, the President’s concern, and fear on the part of many, is that if a corrupt Leader takes over, it will be happy days all over again for former Oil Minister, Diezani Alison-Maduekwe, who has so far forfeited USD153 million, N23.4 billion, USD4 million, and USD 5 million, in separate accounts.

“’Change the Change’ would mean she will get the money back. So would the former Managing Director of the Maritime Agency, NIMASA, get back GBP 578,080 seized from him, and the Ikoyi apartment owners have back their USD 43.4 million; N23 million, and GBP 27,800.”

“There are many today who take for granted the declared victory over the boko haram terrorists, forgetting the reign of the bomber who made it almost impossible for regular attendance in Markets, Churches, and Mosques, in many of our cities, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

“But again, as we have seen from the heist in the national security establishment, even boko haram was an industry from which money was scooped. Boko haram was the hallmark of a flourishing business of corruption. The beneficiaries will not like that the security threat is eliminated. Yes, for them, ‘Changing the Change’ is an opportunity for a resumption of business as usual.”

Biafra govt already in place – C/River MASSOB Leader On May 22, 201812:44 pmIn News, Politics24 Comments By Emma Una CALABAR- SAMUEL Okah, zonal leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, in Cross River State has said there is already a Biafra government in place in the South South and South East and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, in Cross River State Okah stated this on Tuesday in Ikom during a parade round major streets of the town by hundreds of members of the movement to mark the 18th anniversary of the declaration of Biafra without violence by Chief Ralph Uwazurike . “There is widespread consciousness of the existence of Biafra and no matter how much they try to intimate us by killing, arresting and imprisoning us, we know there is a Biafra consciousness in everyone in the regions of the South South and South East and no government can be stronger than such”. He said Great Britain willingly gave Nigeria Independence when the people agitated for it and did not resort to the use of violence and intimidation and Nigeria should learn from that example and allow Biafra nation be. “You can see the flags, the anthem, the zeal of the people that there are no more interested in the Nigeria nation where they have experienced nothing other than injustice, oppression and nepotism so it is time for the leaders of Nigeria to know that we reached the time God designed for us to be independent” Okah said According to him, those who have silver spoon are finding it hard to identify with the Biafra agitation for fear of losing their riches but assured that everyone has a place in the Biafra nation and called on all to work for the progress of the Biafra cause. “I fought for Biafra during the civil war and now that we are using the peaceful means, we have attained more mileage than through the barrel of the gun and Biafra is ours to cherish ”We can be good neighbours with Nigeria, learn and lend to each other as partners through peaceful means not through violence”. Hundreds of members of the movement from Ogoja, Obubra, Calabar and Ugep converged at Ikom and marched through major streets of the town chanting songs and waving Biafra flags to mark the anniversary of the Biafra declared b Uwazurike on May, 22, 2000. Politics › President Buhari Is Too Ill To Govern ///US Observer by mbos(op): 2:24pm On May 21, 2018
President Buhari is too ill to govern On May 20, 20185:40 amIn The Orbit, Trending127 Comments By Obi Nwakanma The gaits of President Muhammadu Buhari as he wobbled through the ceremonies during his recent visit to Washington DC gave him away. The Nigerian President was breathless, and kept himself together with a great reserve of will that must have come only with his military training. President Buhari is far too distracted by his illness to govern. The state of the President’s mental and physical health is now, to all intents and purposes, a national security matter for Nigeria. The subject of the President’s health has been a major point of discussion through this presidency. That man has spent quite a number of his days in office in hospital, and mind you, not in a Nigerian hospital, but with his doctors in the UK who have been managing his health crisis, the fact or detail of which has now assumed the nature of state secret. So, here is the irony: Britain knows the secrets of the health of Nigeria’s President, but Nigeria and Nigerians do not. If this were not so tragic and disturbing, it would be amusing. But it is not amusing. It is not even funny. It is simply the indices of the real state of Nigeria. It is a country that has lost control of all its systems; in which every system of control – national security, national economy, national morality, national administration, have collapsed. There is no question: The President of Nigeria has the widest power accorded to any democratically elected executive office in the world. It has powers wider than the President of the United States, and I use the United States as an example, because it is the source of our constitutional aspirations – our model. We basically plagiarized the American model, with just a few misreadings here and there. The chief misreading is the power the framers of the current constitution in use ceded to the offices rather than to the institutions that constitute the foundations of the state. The President of Nigeria thus, once elected, has near-absolute power. Although he appoints the Executive Council, the ministers are nothing but his minions. He is not just Head of state, he is “boss” and he can overrule any votes reached by the ministerial council. The idea of a “council” presumes a certain capacity for coherent organic action based on the given function of the council. A council could be advisory, deliberative, administrative, or consultative. The body of ministers under the president is fundamentally an advisory, rather than an administrative body. It is different from the parliamentary system of democracy, where the council of ministers is an executive body with administrative powers. The ministers are appointed from elected members of parliament, and once appointed by the president on the advise of the Prime Minister, becomes the actual political heads of assigned ministries. Ministers are equal theoretically to the Prime Minister, who however has the privilege of his leadership of his party in parliament. Government constituted under that protocol has a conciliar status, and operates under the principle of “collective responsibility” in parliament where government business takes place. It is not so under the presidential system. The power of the executive is vested absolutely on the president. He takes responsibility for the triumphs and failures of his government. He is literally the power of the state. There are great advantages and equally great advantages in the operations of the presidential system. The idea that “the buck stops” at the table of the president ought to guarantee that whereas such a president functions with such wide powers, it equally falls upon him to account to the electorate and take responsibility. The president swears an oath of allegiance to the nation, and an oath to uphold the constitution under which his office and his powers are established. But it is very clear, and should be without question now, that President Muhammadu Buhari appears far too ill to govern. His ill health has severely limited, and even compromised his ability to carry out the frankly strenuous duties of a president. His actions, demeanor, and even his decisions as the President, some of which have dire implications for Nigeria’s national security seem to suggest that this President is far too overwhelmed by his condition for him to continue. The evidence is right before our very eyes. The total collapse of state institutions; the level of insecurity in Nigeria which has attained levels never before reached; the crisis of the economy which is in very slow recovery in spite of the potentials. It is true that Obasanjo’s era was possibly the darkest period in terms of national insecurity, for Nigerians who still remember incidents of frequent kidnappings; militia violence, frequent assassinations and violent eliminations of political opponents. None of the cases of these assassinations carried out during Obasanjo had been solved by Nigeria’s police. They seem so far like cold cases. But what is very clear is that such threats of highbrow kidnapping and political assassinations suddenly stopped as soon as Obasanjo left office. That state of national security chaos was suddenly contained. Nigerians had relative peace under the Yar Adua/ Goodluck Jonathan presidency: there were no political assassinations; no fear of the repression of citizens, except in that one case of the anti-subsidy protests in Lagos that was forcefully dispersed. In general, Jonathan gave Nigerians a semblance of peace. The Boko Haram scenario which he had inherited from Obasanjo was also largely contained. The one incident of the controversial kidnap of the Chibok Girls was an act of sabotage orchestrated mostly, as the Nigerian National Intelligence services claimed, by top political actors opposed to Jonathan’s administration. Among those arrested as financiers and supporters of Boko Haram is a current APC senator, who it must be noted, was quickly released from detention by Buhari on coming to power. It was the current APC opposition rallying their international supporters through Tinubu, Fayemi, Amechi, Lai Mohammed, Oyegun, and the current president, that campaigned against the sale of Arms to Nigeria by the “international community,” including the USA and South Africa, based on their claims that the military operations by the Jonathan administration was “violating the civil rights” of Northerners. The Jonathan administration was reduced to the humiliating prospects of therefore sourcing arms through the Black Market. Nigerians surely ought to remember this, as swell as the very truth that by the time Buhari came to power, the Nigerian security forces had driven Boko Haram deeper and deeper into Sambisa forests, wedged between it and the Cameroonian forces, and they were at the edge of total elimination with sustained military and strategic operations when Buhari was elected. But Nigerians must at least acknowledge, that in spite of his failures, the chief of which was Jonathan’s image as a weak president too quick to make concessions, particularly to “the North,” he ran a relatively sane, and focused administration. His greatest achievement was that he created the environment of peace and freedom for Nigerians, which in turn, for the first time in decades, gave Nigerians a sense of prosperity and possibility. All that cocky sense of prosperity and possibility that came with a surge of new economic life, quickly disappeared with Buhari. Buhari’s appointments quickly reflected the terrible limitations of his mission. Rather than rally Nigeria towards a genuinely coherent recovery, he placed his bet on a very obsolete, narrow agenda. The result is with us. The sense of personal and national insecurity has returned. Among his failures is his frequent blaming of the “corruption” of the last administration for his problems. But Jonathan never travelled abroad for his health. Jonathan never sent any of his kids to school abroad. Jonathan has publicly declared that if the Nigerian government ever found any accounts in his name in a foreign bank they should seize it. This is the challenge that he has consistently placed before Buhari’s administration. This administration, for all its ruckus about “corruption” in Jonathan’s administration has never been able to provide actionable proof, or conviction in a proper court, beyond its lame court of public opinion. The greatest betrayal is that Buhari has to keep the secret of the status of his health from Nigerians, and in spite of repeated requests by Nigeria’s elected National Assembly, prefers to leave his medical records and the management of his health in the hands of a foreign and competing power to which he apparently, logically has more loyalty. For it is an axiom, the man whom you owe your stomach and your life, owns you. Buhari is Britain’s, and the Nigerian National Assembly must do its duty to Nigerians by invoking their power particularly on sections 143 and 144 of the Nigerian constitution, because the health of the President, and the management of the health of the president of any nation is a national security issue, and cannot be left in the hands of a foreign power, ally or not.

Politics › Presidency Reveals What Will Happen If Buhari Is Rejected At The Polls In 2019 by mbos(op): 2:14pm On May 21, 2018
JUST IN: Frightening! Nigerians prepared to flee Nigeria as Presidency reveals what will happen if Buhari is rejected at the polls in 2019

PARIS, MAY 21, 2018: (DGW) The Nigerian Presidency has revealed what will eventually happen if Nigerians fail to reject President Buhari at the polls in the forthcoming general elections.

This was disclosed by Mallam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.

He said if Nigerians by a twist of fate fails to re-elect Buhari, the country will automatically be doomed.

This was contained in his opinion piece where he made what he described as important clarifications to Nigerians.

He wrote: “As the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) gears up to celebrate the completion of three years of the Buhari government in the centre on May 29th, Nigerians need to be reminded of what the reversal of the achievements of this administration will amount to.

“The real meaning and cost of the “Changing the Change,” is that if they win the next election, they will not take us back to where we were in 2015, they will mostly reverse the progress the APC has brought to the nation.

''The main reason for the defeat of the PDP in 2015 was corruption. The present administration at the centre led by President Muhammadu Buhari has so far presented a corrupt-free image of itself.

“It has also succeeded in abolishing grand corruption at the top and as attested to by the American President, Donald Trump.

” The government has significantly brought down the level of corruption in the whole country. It has, however, warned over and again that corruption was fighting back.

“Many who are discerning would have read this from President Buhari’s speech when he inaugurated the impressive new headquarters building of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) a week ago.

“He narrated how and why he was overthrown as a military Head of State in the 80s. In that speech, he said not only was he kicked out because he fought corruption, the ones who took power freed all those that he had jailed, and whatever they stole was returned to them.

“He took their place in prison and stayed there without trial for 36 months, until that day when a journalist in Benin, now in Edo, broke the story that he had lost his mother. That was when he was allowed to go home.

“The real difference between the PDP and the current APC administration is that although they mouthed a flood of rhetoric against corruption, in fact rightfully lay the claim of founding the institutions now in the forefront of fighting corruption as a government, the EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC, they had intended to keep them as toys, or bulldogs which teeth had been removed.

“No, they never intended that the war against corruption would be taken this far,” Shehu stated.
