one last thing.
there is this argument that i don't get.
the argument that Ashley young will suddenly raise his game to the required level.
i have watched him for the last 5 years and i don't see how that is possible.
it is not a button you just flick.
if it is not there,it is not there.
it is not like he is 19 or 20.he is 25yrs.
it is like saying that Bebe will suddenly become a player by training regularly with the 1st team.

wrong players? phil jones was an impulse purchase(other clubs were closing in, fergie had to show his hand) just like he did with hernandez.
de gea(we need a top goalkeeper, edwin has retired.
ashley young(we need a versatile midfielder. young can play as a left winger or a central winger).

i have huge confidence in our purchases. we will do well next season without a doubt.
by the way, what kind of purchases were you expecting to be so disappointed with the £55 million spent?
that is a typo right?
you don't seem to get it.my problem is if Ashley Young is the best we can do for a versatile midfielder, then i give up.by the way i am hearing quotes of 18million.
As good as Barca are, they are strengthening with Rossi (btw we have 1st option on him) and Sanchez and we are hanging around distinctly average and over priced players like Young.
I don't have much problem with Jones as long as the finances spent will not affect rebuilding our midfield.
I am done with this transfer thing.
I will reevaluate a day before charity shield.

it's one thing for the man to tell everyone he has forgiven her, it's another thing to put it into practice. such deeds can never be forgotten. it stays with the man for the rest of his life. that she has done it before torments the man and every time he's away from home, the thoughts come rushing back again. as a result, the trust dies and when there's no trust - there's no relationship which eventually leads to the death of that marriage.
you think it is any different with women forgiving men?

Ashley bloody Young almost a done deal, now they are trying to get Nasri.

this summer transfers seem like it will be underwhelming.

Young is a brilliant signing. You can't go wrong with a hardworking, direct, results-focused player like Young. I like players who don't mess around before delivering. That's why I like Ashley Young. He does the same trick everytime, cuts inside and delivers a pinpoint cross to his strikers head. Besides, Fergie will use him as the third forward whenever Rooney or Hernandez are injured. How I wish Chelsea were in for Young.
not an improvement on what we presently have.

Young playing for United will take his game some notches higher. . . dude has been fantastic for 2-3 seasons now playing with Villa so i expect him to measure up with the standards at United
That is a huge gamble(i know every buy is likely being at the horses).the level he has played at all his career is no where near the level united need.besides he is not a teenager,so where is that hope of stepping up coming from?
besides 18m for a lad who has one year left on his contract is silly.
he does not solve our midfield problem so i wonder the benefit.

i am utterly disappointed.

end of evans? how? how many central defenders do we have? it signals the end of oshea, brown and one of rio/vidic. they are all 30+ or thereabout. evans is going nowhere and smalling, phil jones and the brazilian twins are here to stay. phil jones is a steal considering the fact wenger and kenny dalglish were also hovering over him.
Brown is a closed case.
in addition to everything else, he and Fergie have fallen out big tyme.
Evans is in last chance salon.if he does not make it this season and phil jones excels like Smalling did last season,Evans himself will want out.
Bit of a shame as I think this signals the end for Evans at united.
With Phil Jones and the french lad,Raphaël Varane Evans is almost screwed.
however he is in the last chance salon.
the french lad will go out on loan and phil jones will take Wes place in the squad.
if Evans does not improve rapidly, he will find himself down the pecking order and this will be his last season.
Rio is almost over,so by next season one of Smalling/Jones/Varane will step up to partner Vidic.
Defence looks covered.
can we sort out the midfield now?

Yes those leaders.

And as for the article on tribune praising OGD it was written by OGD's press secretary. Tribune carried the news much like any newspaper. They never praised OGD. So why is ACN lying and trying to defame this family? Let me answer some of your questions as long as you are civil:

1) When Gbenga Daniel started off, did he not start well? But become a nuisance as his term went on i agree. So why blame Adebanjo?
Ayo Adebanjo was campaigning for OGD three months ago.

If he doesn't know, let him go and ask, there is no one dead or alive who has gone against the Awolowos who ended well. I will not bother count them, students of history will know. There is a mystery around Awolowo that no one has been able to explain.

Yorubas will say: "Ti ilu eni ba ndun ni adunju, o fe ya ni" (If the sound from your drum is getting excessive, it signals the shattering of the drum)

This may be the beginning of the end for Tinubu. I am sorry for him.
this is a myth that should not be expounded in the 21st century.
Might be the end of Tinubu but obviously not because of going against a the family of a late sage, whose living family are irrelevant in the scheme of things within the Nigerian polity.
I think his end will simply be the lack of control measures to rein in his almost absolute power.

Jonny Evans is going out on loan.
Wes Brown will be heading to Wolves.

if we don't overhaul our central midfield with proven players, the magic that happened this year will not repeat itself.
one of SAF greatest achievements is squeezing blood out of this squad.
this squad has over achieved and it will not repeat itself.
this team (midfield in particular) needs to be improved.
Ashley bloody Young!!!!

I personally have no respect for these people.
We have serious problems as a nation and we need the living to solve them.Canonizing the dead is a waste of time.We don't practice monarchy in this country.these families should go and live their lives and stop hugging the limelight.
Whether they support PDP or CPC is irrelevant to the masses.it is their right and does not change the price of bread in the market.
Tribune is theirs.they can dod what they want with it.the best the public can do is vote with their pockets.
I think the importance of these families and late sages are grossly exagerrated.
Granting audience to this old lady who should be busy enjoying her life is ridiculous.
my blood boils when i see politicans falling over themselves on tv when they go and pay her visits.I am like'dude get a life and do something useful'.
This letter of hers is nothing but an ego trip and adds no value in our search for solutions to our myriad of problems as a society and that is all that i am interested in.

on a different note, Joe Igbokwe is a tool.

Politics › Re: Okorocha Declares Imo Bankrupt by mbulela: 9:53am On Jun 08, 2011
Reference:
Gov. Rochas to me is in a good position. He doesn't have to make Imo, New york in four years. The depth of degradation is such that any positive movement will be welcomed. What he needs to do is build structures first and foremost. Put in place working mechanisms and tied them down properly. Look the prosperity of Imo will be created by Imolites and as they have chosen to do so they will rally round and afford whatever sacrifices are needed will pull the state through. What people should understand is that the 100 billion is a debt owed by all not by government alone so all should pull together. While the iron of electoral victory remains hot he should convene a massive town hall meeting, lay all cards on the table in all honesty, restructure debts, renegotiate wage increases, salary arrears, contractors obligations and bank interest payments. He is a smart chap and I know he can do it.

He should take a page out of bankruptcy 101. Talk, talk, talk with creditors. And while he is at it make sure everyone from him to the least feel the pain equally. He must walk the talk. No more expensive cars, functions and patronage. All contracts must be given by locals and executed on a bare-boned basis and keep away from Shylock bankers who must have flooded the capital by now to worsen the situation. As for the free education thing. It remains possible but probably not on the scale envisaged. It can be selective by scholarships paid for by the well to do and big corporations.

Another thing he should keep off is the revitalization here and there of industries. If it is not PPP then increasing the bureaucracy is the last thing he should be doing. Job creation is purely a private sector thing. Just create the environment, bring to the table the assets you have like land, permits, logistics but no cash. No cash whatsoever. That should be reserved for basic infrastructure once more handled by Imolites alone. He can do it.
very sound advice.
