lalaboi:LWKMD. This one na serious matter o ![]() |
who hacked lalaboi's account? ![]() never known you to resort to throwing insults online. this na mediocrity wey you dey promote o! the only thing that boy has going for him are his fine looks and connections (Banky W). na so so autotune everywhere.na T-pain produce the album? his lyrics are obviously poor but not any worse than the likes of Bracket who are smilling to the bank and rolling in their millions. anyway, before i am called a hater, i am off. all the best to him. |
Emperoh:i am convinced that this Bebe signing was a case of money laundry. no other scenario makes sense. |
I am still trying to get my head around the guts of Segun Adeniyi. Nigerians need not be unnecessarily distracted by the need for him to justify his participation in the greatest act of criminal breach of our constitution since the introduction of coup plots by ambitious and misguided soldiers of fortune in the country. What transpired during the last days of that administration is only comparable to an attempted coup plot, all participants including Segun deserve to be arrested and tried for treason. Instead he tells us tales that make no difference. This is a man who was the presidential spokesman while lies, rumours and conspiracies were the order of the day. What did he do? Probably nothing, because he was loyal to Yar'Adua and not the country. Segun, how about that Yar'Adua speech on BBC? How about those strolls he took with his kids and grandchildren in Aso Rock? Who signed that budget? These are issues that need clarification. |
whatever it takes, just get it sorted. |
this was the sermon? |
Emperoh:i am constantly getting worried at the eccentricity of El-Rufai. An incredibly intelligent man, according to those who know him well but in recent times his eccentricity makes me question his mental state. |
I read this article out of respect to the OP. If you could disregard my earlier mentioned disdain for a moment, i still find nothing inspiring or revealing in the article. It seems to be the same old rambling. So he has resurrected the column and will resume dishing out advice that he himself could not take when he had the opportunity? The hypocrisy is mind boggling and his guts leave me speechless. |
coogar:fantasy football manager |
Aro Okigbo:politically incorrect comment but it is the painful truth. |
Life o Life!!! May God grant his family the strength to bear this loss. |
Akainzo:was it ever away? it is gradually becoming a norm and no more news,so the media ain't reporting it like before. This fresh air is stale air. |
Can't we just discuss without spreading insults around the whole place? before the thread is hijacked by ethnic and religious bigots can someone describe Islamic banking in a bit of details? |
I Think it is neccessary to remind us what we are talking about Honorary Certificate in Education means a certificate awarded to a person as an honour; {without the person having the usual qualifications for it} usually to commend them for what they've done, Buhari also got it,
so what has she done? |
Jarus:there is nothing revealing in that. these things have been alluded to by men under the influence in beer parlours and pubs across the length and breadth of this country. men like yourself who are versed in the happenings of this country can't claim to be enlightened by such 'revelations'. |
Disclaimer: Jarus is a man whose decision is not swayed unnecessarily by anyone else. His association with journalists of repute has been exaggerated and should not be treated as anything serious or injurious to Jarus' hard earned reputation.Thank you for your understanding and apologies to Jarus for any perceived slight. |
Jarus:like Sergant Rogers and Al Mustapha? |
Dis Guy:three crimes of his; 1.being a key member of the team that fed the public lies, rumours and half truths during the darkest days of Yar Adua's presidency. 2. attempting to spin history. 3. He was once a critic of similar and even lesser evils than the ones that were perpetuated in the govt he served and in areas that were within his direct sphere of influence. He talked the talk but was found hopelessly inept when it was time to walk the talk. |
Jarus:Jarus, the fact that you would not have done better in his shoes is a bit defeatist but even if we accept that, the crux of the matter presently is his attempt to rewrite history and spin it to his favour.it makes us the public look stupid and mkes it look like he is a bearer of some secrets that changes the whole picture. |
Jarus:so you take style disown me in public? ![]() God dey. |
i often wonder if a prerequisite for leadership position in Nigeria is to have a dead conscience? Honorary doctorate degrees are often givien for contribution to society.so it does not matter whether you are literate or not. my problem is what contribution will the VC read in Patience Jonathan's citation? what has she done to advance our society? If a university that is meant to be the citadel of enlightnment and excellence can shamelessly celebrate mediocrity without batting an eyelid, what hope do we have as a people? That citation will be filled with lies and half truths.yet these university administrators feel good in their heart. she will then proceed to donate 100s of millions to a fund that will be unaccountable and used as the VC and his cohort deem fit. at the end our universities remain the glorified grammar schools they have been for decades. then ASUU will go on strike for poor pay. Kobojunkie:more than that, the reason i refused to answer Jarus question is that he is biased. He is no longer one of us but rolls with the THISDAY crew. They tell him secrets that mere mortals can't know ![]() They will always accuse us of not seeing the full picture, that there are some finer details that can't be revealed in public.if we knew those details we will acknowledge their courage. Jarus, like they say in the south;ALL THAT ONE NA WASH WASH!! I am one of those who believes that Segun did no wrong in accepting that job. the problem is his conduct in it. It is even more disgusting that instead of hiding his head in shame or pursuing his career away from the glare of the public,he seeks to rub it in on an already traumatised public by writing silly articles in which he thinks he is enlightened and we the public need enlightenment to save us from the darkness that pervades our polity. confering on himself a relevance that he has since lost is not only egotistical but slightly delusional in my view. This spin will work for some but i doubt i can be convinced and i believe neither would most right thinking Nigerians. Not even Alaistair Campbell can spin this one right. you don't need a whole book to apologise for your role in that govt. |
13 Jun 2011 The plan by the new management of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) to hire the services of about 50 experts is highly affecting the morale of some members of staff of the Exchange, THISDAY checks have revealed. THISDAY had last week exclusively reported that the Council of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) had given approval to the Chief Executive Officer of the NSE, Mr. Oscar Onyema, to hire experts (mostly from outside the country) that would help drive the Exchange’s transformation agenda. The CEO was said to have made a proposal to the Council to employ more hands that would facilitate the execution of the agenda of the new management. A market source had explained that the new management was of the belief that most of the current senior officials of the Exchange do not have the capacity to drive the new products being planned for the market. “They are talking of securities lending, index/exchange traded funds, options and financial futures among others. The CEO was able to convince the Council that for these products to become a reality, he needed to get experts who are specialists in each of the areas. And I can tell you that the Council has given its approval,” the source added. However, NSE’s Spokesman, Mr. Wole Tokede, denied knowledge of any approval given by the Council, but saying that the possibility of employing more people could not be ruled out. “The Exchange is a going concern and given the fact the management is working at rejuvenating the Exchange, one cannot rule out the possibility of more staff being employed. But I am not aware that the Council has given approval to the CEO to employ 60 experts. I am not aware of that,” Tokede had said. Further investigations by THISDAY last Friday showed that anxiety has gripped many of the employees over their fate given the plan of the management. Some of the employees who spoke to THISDAY under the condition of anonymity, said that although the management was yet to formally tell them anything regarding the employment of fresh hands, they expressed the fear that their jobs are at risk. “We have not been formally informed. But there is no smoke without fire. We are just hoping that the baby will not be thrown away with the bath water,” an employee said. Speaking in the same vein, a senior stockbroker told THISDAY that the new management of NSE should be cautious in their efforts to transform the market. “We know that the CEO and Executive Director have worked in foreign establishment. Also, their wealth of experience is not in doubt. But they should be guided by the fact the environment they are coming from is different from our own environment here. Whatever decision they are taking, they should consider the local content side of it. For instance, if they bring all the experts from overseas, are they going to bring stockbrokers from abroad too?. The management should come up with policies and strategies that will help to sustain the confidence reposed in them,” the broker said. Unveiling his agenda recently, Onyema disclosed that the Exchange had been re-organised into four major divisions including : Market Operations and Technology; Business Development, Legal and Regulation, and Corporate. “We believe that in order to position the Exchange to achieve its stated quantitative goals, its organisational structure must be changed to realign strategic business units accordingly, Onyema had said. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/anxiety-in-nse-over-recruitment-of-50-experts/93118/ |

Just read the article. what was so interesting there?these are gists we had already heard in beer parlours and online forums.nothing new there. i can bet you there will be no new gist next week. All this talk of going to Harvard is getting boring. His redemption does not lie there. I wonder what folks are expecting in his book?same old gist. Jarus:if someone else asked these questions, i would have attempted to answer them.unfortunately because you are the one asking them,i refuse to answer them for obvious reasons. |
Before i go through the posts, i wish to register my disdain for Segun Adeniyi in particular and men like him in general. In saner climes, men like this will seek to retreat from public discourse. I'll rather listen to men like Chris Uba and Tony Anenih.men who have never pretended to be what they are not. How any sane mind will hope to be enlightened by Segun Adeniyi's ramblings beats my imagination. His reign as Yaradua's spokesman saw the elevation of lies, rumours and conspracies to a new high as government policies.I am not particularly bothered by the issue of whether he should chosen to serve in that govt.i am more disgusted by his conduct therein.how information dessimination on governance and govt during a most critical time was akin to communist era and dark ages. The propaganda of that time almost rivalled that of Aabacha's govt. Who is interested in his book?he should go shove it i na hairy place where the sun does not shine. He thinks he can use the space Nduka Obiagbena provides sychophants to massage their respective egos and those of their heroes can be used to rewrite the truth which history will bear witness to. The truth is that Segun Adeniyi is no better than the Andy Ubas,Tony Anenihs, Iboris et al. He should stuff his verdict down his own throat.History has already judged him and found him wanting. We are not interested in the secrets he thinks he knows that we the public do not know. it makes no difference. |
efisher:since this is not possible,no deal. |
