I don't even know where to start from but this is how it goes.. I and my boyfriend already agreed only on white wedding here in London, but his mother said we need to have a traditional marriage.. I cant because my dad's peeps cut him off when he got married to my mum.. The only grandparents i know are my mum folks and also the only village i call my village is my maternal village.. And now his mum insists that we also do a traditional marriage?? I am losing it.. What do i do?? I have no paternal ties.. How do i go about that? I cant even tell my peeps cause they had mixed feelings initially about my fiance.. I need your help peeps.. What do i tell his mum?

the argument that your dad was cast out might not hold water and is suspect. It might be linked to a more serious thing which could have been squealed to her. She is depending on your refusal to come home to confirm that and make her objections towards the marriage more prominent.

In Africa, traditional marriages are seen as the ultimate, my advice would be that since it isn't you that was cast out and the reason your dad isn't accepted in his home isn't grave, make arrangements to do the traditional rites if you love him enough and then carry on. You wouldn't want him to be rejected by his family too so that the chain continues down to your children, would you?

The guy that claims to love me and want to marry me wants me to quit my job first.

I got a well paying job a year ago, in an Oil servicing Company, located in PH, i was taken to their Lagos office sometime last year.

This guy that claims to love me is a Pharmacist, working in Owerri. He has been disturbed about the distance of lagos from owerri,

he told me that, if i want the marriage to take place, i must quit my job and join him in owerri, where he will open a pharmacy shop for me to

stay. I gave him the option of working

my transfer back to PH, he said he cant still cope with it, that he wants to raise a family everyone will be together.

I gave him another option to allow me work for a year more or 2, because i have just worked with the company for 1 year, and i know how the

job is helping my family and junior ones, who are still in school.

My final answer was, NO, i cannot quit my job to marry you, and it seems the guy has moved on.

you didn't make a mistake, he was obviously going to whine later about your family leeching on his resources. He should have presented the option of you quitting after the marriage when the finances of the marriage must have been sorted out not before.

But I have noticed that it is always difficult for ladies that have issues out of wedlock to get a man that will love and marry them. After all,having a child isn't a disease.

Why is this so?

personally, I think it is more of a complex thing. Some single mothers allow society to define them and strip them of some self worth, so first they see themselves as "unmarriageable" even before they get a man.

2. They don't allow themselves go through the process of falling in love either because they are being to desperate or being too conscious.

3. Some men could get the thinking whatever was responsible for them not marrying the father of their child could be as a result of their own inadequacy which they might not be patient enough to ascertain themselves because they don't want to make mistakes.

Celeron is a stripped down cheaper version of the Intel Pentium processors. Even the pentium processors struggle to play High definition games let alone celeron that's more slower.

Celeron are more suited to light work like word processing and not gaming.

seriously I don't know, I am not the game type. Maybe onegig and deji2009 can answer that. But the processor speed is 2.16ghz if that helps

if you are talking about brand new ones, the ones I can offer at that rate remains intel celeron processors, and free dos. Meaning I do the windows installation myself.

Meanwhile a lot of people would still sell this type to you without telling you it is a free dos but there a no downsides

I have been married for 9 years now. By any standard, i have had a very good marriage . Great husband and kids.
I married my husband as a divorcee which produced a daughter. He told me all these while we were dating. He never hid any neccessary information from me.
The child has been living with the mother while my husband has been up and doing in the chilld's welfare. He pays the school fees, gives monthly allowance, medical bills and still visits the child at intervals, spends holidays with us and he has a good rapport with the child's mother. Though the woman still complains he doesn't do enough. That's by the way.
I never wanted to marry a man with a child/children as i saw it as a baggage i will not be able to handle.
But my husband was different and I had to marry him with this imperfection cos i am too.
The issue now is, the child does not want to live with the mother again but us( don't know if the mother planned it) because 2 years ago , the child lived with us but the mother's interfernce was too much.
The mother comes to my house at any time to pick the child for one thing or the other and will even miss school atimes. Calls at any time , discusses with my neighbours and so on.
Now the child is back to my house for a permanent stay on the ground of no interference from the mum since i implored my husband that there will not be repeat of any of the previous incidence.
I do all these because of the love i have for my husband but I am not coming to terms with it.
I find it very difficult to love and accept this child as my own. Whenever she is around me, there is this reverberation of negative energy and feelings towards her.
I have never abused her in any sort.
Please i would need matured contributions on how to deal with this situation, loving and accepting her because it is really affecting my emotions which translates to affecting my sex life, business and relationships etc.

Women have these issues and we love them still. My man, I perfectly can relate how frustrating can be for you, but I advice you to keep steady, if you could handle the silent treatment, I'd say you keep up with her with it until she comes off it herself. This does not guarantee she won't come up with a different equally depressing attitude, but she would sure note that two can play that game. It is a marriage already, and I say you make it work somehow, a lot of otherwise happy looking marriage have had to overcome this stage. Do yuor best with hope she realises it depends on both of you to be bliss and let God handle the rest. May God bless and keep your union.

I am a fervent reader on Nairaland and i dont miss this forum in 1 day, i have seen people share their concerns here and a lot of people have contributed through their comments, though some are hillarious while others are on point. i will appreciate matured responses.

I did not marry a stranger to start with and its why i am very pained cuz i come here on nairaland and see how people get frustrated about their marriage based on cogent reasons but mine is different.

first of all, I got married in february and am already very tired of my wife, not because she isnt very sexy or good in bed as other may experienced but because my wife starts arguments from little things as little as why did u miss my call, even if its a BBM call thats dependent of network, after hours of begging i have to end up with uncountable "am sorry".

secondly, my wife find it very easy to engage in malice for days without bothering to reconcile, and i have to talk to her over again and make her see reason why such act is not good in marriage, for which she will later apologize and the next day or same day she is back again in another episode.

thirdly, every man love to be respected, when my wife starts her drama about missed call or other flimsy excuses, she starts talking to me like am her junior brother, calling me names and after noticing how mad i am with her, she will apologize but always repeat such act.

i feel the amount of love and attention she gets from me is too much and i am beginning to think i should make her understand what it feels like to have a frustrated marriage. though am yet to do that.

i honestly am not perfect but i have never used any harsh word while addressing her even when she is obviously wrong, i dont do so because i know the feeling when she use them for me. i wish i could anyway.

i grew up in a place where women are highly regarded and well treated and maybe its affecting me because i also help her do chores and i dont push all the house work to her as most men do.

i noticed i am always very unhappy and depressed the moment she comes up with this episodes and it may be because i love her so much and this is beginning to affect how i study and i might be forced to push her away first by not giving her attention as i used to.

My fellow Nairalanders, i respect ur opinion, hillarious ones and reasonable ones, marriage is not a bed of roses, i love my wife and i am not cheating on her, i am 100% married to her alone but her attitude is frustrating and i might have to leave her in the end. i hope i get lucky and this make FP so i can learn from experienced members before i take a decision, as we speak she has began the malice episode with me and if i dont apologize to her in 3 days, she is ready to go that far too.
