Hi, I'm an Engineering graduate currently serving in Akwa Ibom state. I plan on gate crashing tomorrow and will like to know if I have any chance since my WAEC certificate isn't with me.
I only have my First degree certificate and will like to know if that negates my WAEC certificate.
More so, has anyone marked in Uyo before or does anyone know which subjects are allocated to the various centres.
Regards! |

2el: Corpers wee!!
Hello everyone it's a pleasure to welcome you otondos to The land of uncommon transformation Akwa Ibom. I'm a serving corps member in this great state and I must confess the experience is mind blowing. Camping akwa ibom ain't too fun due to the rigid state coordinator Lady Chukwuka Ngozi Nkirikuka who has a very strict nature and abhors corruption.
'Influencing' your posting to Uyo and other big cities are very tough because of this same state coordinator, so y'all have to be careful who you hand your money to..but make sure you get close to the ICT guys who will register you on that first day because trust me they won't say it but they are the surest people to help you influence your posting, disregard all Local Govt Inspectors and Platoon Officer because Lady Ngozika doesn't give them slots anymore The common slogan of Akwa Ibom camp is Discipline and neatness, don't litter the floor or you might be shocked at what the soldiers might punish you with Power bank is very important because there are no wall outlets to charge your cell phones in the hostels Important to mention are camp activities: Please don't participate in camp activities thinking it will help them give you a favourable posting - this may be done in other states but not in akwa ibom, What I'm sure of is that make sure you register early as soon as camp open (0001-0150) are sure banker for Uyo LG, you might also get posted randomly and not by your level of participation in camp, worthy to note is that our general commander was posted to a thick forest even after he commanded the parade for 3weeks, same thing happened to others that participated in drama, dance, peagentries, quarter guard and even parade.
There are very very few links to influence your posting e.g camp commandant, the ICT guys and probably if you have a high ranking soldier as a relation... Advisable local government to get posted to are Uyo - but with a very high cost of living, Eket, Ikot Ekpene, Nsit Atai, Oron, Abak and Ibiono Ibom
The state pays 10,000 monthly allowance but only to those posted to state government parastatals and it doesn't come until 3 months time.
FG have banned posting of corps member to Oil companies so take off your mind.
Welcome to Nsit Attai camp.
Mention me for more details
I'm a serving corps member @ Nsit Atai LG
very close to Orientation camp Hi, I plan on coming in by air a day before to see a friend in uyo then move to camp the next day. Information reaching me is that the only means of transport I can get at the airport is a cab and that cabs charge 4k per trip. To be more explicit, I'll be charged 4k from the airport to uyo then another 4k to the camp ground. Please verify this info. |

Science/Technology › 100 Years On, Gravitational Waves Confirmed In Breakthrough Research by mcpat(op): 5:31pm On Feb 11, 2016 |
Scientists at Washington’s National Science Foundation and Moscow State University have confirmed the discovery of Albert Einstein’s gravitational waves. The breakthrough, possibly the biggest in physics in a century, could be the key to new understanding of the universe. Recent rumors of the success in detecting gravitational waves, or as some scientists put it "very weak spacetime wiggles which propagate at the speed of light" were officially confirmed Thursday. "Ladies and gentlemen! We have detected gravitational waves, we did it!," LIGO laboratory executive director David Reitze announced in Washington. "These gravitational waves were produced by two colliding black holes, [that] came together, merged and formed a single black hole about 1.3 billion years ago," Reitze said. These ripples in the fabric of spacetime are one of the most important variables in Einstein's theory of relativity and it took astronomers decades to detect them, although they were pretty sure that gravitational waves existed. The discovery has been made with the use of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) - a system of two detectors constructed to spot tiny vibrations from passing gravitational waves. Funded by the National Science Foundation, LIGO's identical detectors are located in Livingston, Louisiana, and Hanford, Washington. The observatories, which are "the most precise measuring device ever built," recorded a signal on September 14, 2015, "nearly simultaneously," and the signal "had a very specific characteristic," the laboratories' director said. "As time went forward, the frequency went up," he explained, adding that it took scientists months of careful checking and analysis to confirm that what had been discovered was exactly gravitational waves. https://www.rt.com/news/332162-gravitational-waves-discovery-announcement/ |

I888: why do you guys misuse the word "invention" in this part of the world? why? Please read up the word and know how best to use it next time. An invention is a unique or novel device, method, composition or process. The invention process is a process within an overall engineering and product development process. It may be an improvement upon a machine or product, or a new process for creating an object or a result. I am very correct with my choice of word sir! |
