Barrywilly: This is grievous and unnecessary violence against the very people they claimed to be fighting for. Of what relevance is the killings to the actualization of Biafra? The security agents should be proactive and stop all these bloodletting in Igboland
How did you effectively establish that the deed was done by Biafrans? Something is wrong somewhere...
An beautiful extra-ordinary graduate of Imo State University (IMSU) College of Medicine, Dr Olachi Sandra Ndukwe has given a report on how she was able to achieve her dreams of being the best graduating student, Siggy reveals.
The indigene of Ehime Mbano in Imo State opened up in a recent interview with .
Speaking on how she was able to graduate with a distinction, she revealed how rigorous her reading schedule was, she said; ”In the early stages of my training, it appeared a bit too complex for me. But as the years rolled by, I figured out how best to study. I consistently made an effort to sleep as early as 7-8pm each day. Once it’s 11pm-12am, I’m awake and I’d start reading. I sometimes read till 6am.
You must understand this pattern was unique to me as each one must discover what works best for him/her. I didn’t really have a time table of what topic to read. I was very spontaneous and the cases I saw in the hospital largely determined what I would read each day. However, there were times I would read in excess of 16 hours, especially during the weekends. I just locked myself indoors and read as long as I could.”
On why she chose to study medicine, Sandra explained; ”I studied to become a medical doctor primarily because I want to take care of my family. Also, Medicine is a noble profession which commands respect. I wish to be respected as a female doctor in my chosen field of specialty.”
She also revealed that she got prizes for being the overall best student in her set.
”I received an award for getting a distinction in Medicine; three awards for being best student in Paediatrics; two awards for being best student in Physiology; and one for being best student in Biochemistry. In total, I bagged seven awards at our induction ceremony. The awards were for best and most outstanding student in these courses,” the brilliant lady said.
Congratulations to her. For me, nothing beats an intelligent and beautiful woman with little to no make up. Excessive make up always detracts from the overall serious look of an intelligent woman. Most of the intelligent women I know don't do heavy make up cos their brain covers for every deficiency they may have face wise.
Gbedulord: Veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, has said he has no regret campaigning for President Buhari in 2015.
In an interview with Premiumtimes, Kosoko stated that he is disappointed in some of the actions of President Buhari but can't say the President is totally bad.
''So many things are responsible for the situation we find ourselves. I can’t speak for the government but I can’t say Buhari (government) is totally bad. I’ve never said so, and I may not say so, but I am disappointed in some of his actions. I hate a situation where the APC government will keep reminding us of how bad things have been since PDP assumed power.
We are all aware of that, before you decided to come on board, deciding to assume power means you have a solution to the problems so that is my own concern. Buhari knows that discipline is his watchword, I wanted to believe him then, but he should know that in getting a corrupt-free society you would face quite a lot of antagonism.
It’s just like a dog eating bone and you want to collect the bone, it would be a tug of war. I believe him and personally, Buhari is not corrupt, but so many things are still going on. This means that prompt action must be taken to ensure that those things stop.''
When asked if he regrets campaigning for the President, Kosoko said
He is being smart so as not offend Tinubu. Cos that's the main focus of his allegiance. That's where his next contract is coming from and not Buhari. Smart man..
Obi Cubana now has two years of birth. His original year of birth and 2021. The popularity/rebirth he has experienced this year alone, I am not sure any person in his lineage has done so..
jesusjnr2020: The most important thing is if you're saved not what Brazil churches did or did not do.
So I hope you're saved, and if that's what the churches in Brazil did for you, and you didn't came out still a sinner but saved, then it's a good thing.
blamingthedevil: The United Kingdom (UK) says Boko Haram insurgents are likely to kidnap foreign nationals, warning its citizens against travelling to twelve states in Nigeria.
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) announced this on Friday in a travel advisory for its nationals.
The UK government said there is a high threat of kidnap throughout Nigeria for ideological, financial or political gain.
“The groups have previously shown intent and capability to conduct kidnaps in Nigeria. Foreign nationals, including humanitarian workers, are likely targets for kidnap. Humanitarian hubs and humanitarian workers have been targeted during attacks in the North East, including Monguno, Borno State on 13 June 2020,” the advisory reads.
There’s a high threat of kidnap throughout Nigeria. Kidnaps can be motivated by criminality or terrorism and could be carried out for ideological, financial or political gain. Anecdotal evidence suggests that the risk of kidnap increases after dark.
“The security environment in the North East has deteriorated since 2018 and there is a heightened risk of kidnap. Kidnaps in the North East have included humanitarian and private sector workers. There are also reports that Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa (ISWA) are continuing to actively plan to kidnap foreigners. As well as in North-East Nigeria, extremist groups operate in some northern and middle belt states including Bauchi, Gombe, Kano, Kogi, Kaduna, Niger and Adamawa states. If you’re working or travelling in these States then you should be aware of the risk of terrorist kidnapping.”
The UK government also advised its citizens to be careful as events to mark the one year anniversary of #EndSARS protests may lead to additional protests in Lagos and Abuja.
Advertisement The government also said the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), scheduled for October 21 may lead to protests and heightened security presence in Abuja and in the south-east.
“Since 9 August, there has been an increase in protests and demonstrations in the South East region of Nigeria. Protests, including “Stay at Home” protests, are likely during October in the South East region. There have been reports of violence during Stay at Home protests previously. You should monitor local media, avoid any demonstrations or large gatherings and follow any instructions from local police and security forces,” the advisory further reads.
“There have been a number of attacks and targeted killings in the South-east and Southsouth regions of Nigeria, including in the states of Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Imo, Abia, Anambra, Delta, Edo and Ebonyi. Some of these attacks have been on isolated roads and in remote locations, but there is a chance that they could occur in metropolitan areas. There is also a heightened risk of indiscriminate attacks on police and security infrastructure, which may inadvertently affect bystanders.
“A number of states have imposed curfews. Travellers to these regions are advised to exercise caution if travelling in remote areas at night and follow local news and information outlets for further information, including on local curfews.”
Ali Inusah, a Ghanaian Student who grabbed a first class degree in Accounting has made history as the overall best graduating student during the 13th congregation of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Siggy discloses.
He walked a rocky path to become valedictorian, according to a Facebook post by Citi FM/TV journalist, Umaru Sanda Amadu.
Amadu recalled how Inusah had to defy all odds to achieve impressive grades in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
After completing senior high school, he faced an impediment, a setback that threatened his dream to pursue higher education, Amadu said.
While still keeping hope alive, Inusah's elder brother met Umaru Sanda Amadu who was travelling with his father to Katamanso near Ashaiman in the Great Accra Region of Ghana.
Amadu recalled how Inusah's brother emerged from the bushes and approached him with the WASSCE results. He said, ''Four years ago, I was driving my father to visit his brother at Katamanso near Ashaiman when a gentleman emerged from the bushes brandishing the WASSCE results of his junior brother. I screamed in excitement when I saw the As on the paper."
Amadu continued, ''His brother asked that I help. If I didn't, he told me, his little brother would remain a herdsman slaving in the bushes for next to nothing. I discussed the boy with my bosses at Citi FM, Sammens and Bernard Avle.
They were wowed and decided this boy must not be left to "rot" in the bush. ''Citi FM and UPSA offered him a joint scholarship to study Accounting."
After the four-year programme, Inusah graduated with first class and delivered the valedictorian speech during the 13th congregation of UPSA.

My dear this device should not be used to gauge who is indomie generation and who is not. Reason being that this kind of device then was only meant for the rich, so to say. Just like telephones way back, .many couldn't afford these kinda luxuries then. Hence to gauge who is and who is not indomie generation next time, use every day devices and regulars possessions accessible to everyone then e.g beverages, snacks etc.
I am not of the indomie generation, yet I and my family weren't privileged to have such devices in our houses/offices then. Though I thank God things have changed since for us.
HunterArt: This story is not well verified take it from me, because I graduated from this school as the former assistant senior prefect. I know what the principal can do and what he can't do.
So.you mean the school principal during your time has been there all these while? Don't vouch for human beings ooo
damilola4162: It was an emotional day for Nollywood actress Nkechi Sunday Blessing as she laid her mum to rest today October 16, Newspremises reports.
Late Mrs. Gloria Obasi Sunday died in September after a brief illness. Her remains were laid to rest today.
As her mum's body was being taken to her final resting place, Nkechi cried so much until she passed out. She was however resuscitated by her friends and family.
Las Las she go dey alright. If I can be alright after almost 22 years and still counting, then she can be alright. Time is the greatest healer of all wounds indeed!!
IsaacG29: Op said, the phones with three metal pins are generally safer than the ones without three pins or with a rubber pin. For those who didn't go through the post.
NLHoodlum: I smiled at how stupid he was coming to my turf to cause trouble because they have numbers. His brothers rushed out with sticks coming at me, but stupid them they were already surrounded all round and the moment they came out their road to retreat was immediately blocked by my other friends and as I like to say it "See Beating".
