HealthRe: Are There People Who Were Not Born With the Sense Of Smell? by mdokaba1(op): 9:04am On Jun 25, 2017
ryom:
There is a small tribe in Nigeria whose members mostly do not have a sense of smell genetically. And for those born with one, it is actually very easy to lose sense of smell e.g. After a cold.
I brought the issue of the possibility of her having cold thus the lose of her sense of smell, but she remained emphatic that she was born with it.
HealthAre There People Who Were Not Born With the Sense Of Smell? by mdokaba1(op):
I met this pretty young lady who came to town for a project so she is putting up for a few days at my neighbour's he isint in town.

The compound is dry (mind your business kinda) so I and her got talking as we clicked instantly and connected on alot of

issues, she is brain loaded. "Talk brought talk" and I was shocked when she opened up to me that she wasn't born with the sense of smell and that infact since she was born she doesn't know how perfumes, odour, aroma or fragrance smells like, that she only reads about them or hear about them.

She said on several occasions due to forgetfulness, she has had her food burnt on fire without perceiving the burnt odour until neighbours came in to enquire what was smelling and then she remembers she had something on fire.

I did not believe her, not until she got angry that am indirectly calling her a liar. In fact she opened up that its the more reason she doesn't kiss even her partner, for fear of kissing a person with bad breath. And that her lover, friends and siblings buy perfume for her as she doesn't buy them herself hence she doesn't know how they smell like.

This got me startled and made me wonder more than once, how possible her claims could be.

Dear Nairalanders, how true is this?

Yet you can only mention Thabo Mbeki and no other person grin funny Nigerians trying so hard to make themselves relevant in our history. Fought where exactly? . Did you send any soldiers to SA you cowards ?. Paid what? The 63 billion you keep bringing up which never reached SA? You people are the biggest joke in the continent with your chest- beating while having absolutely nothing to back up any of your claims.

You can't bash Mandela, he was one the best leaders in the world and guess what? He was SAn born and bred, and a good representation of what our society is capable of producing. Nigerians are yet to see a leader of that caliber because your society is rotten to the core.
Its just funny how the fingers we fed turn around to bit us with reckless abandon. No troubles tho! For the love of humanity,

I shall still pick up arms any day to fight for SA and wont even mind skipping a lunch ticket to contribute for your freedom should

you be repressed again by the whiteees. #ThatsTheNigerianSpirit# #WeTheBigBrother# Ask older SAns, Ask Nigeriens,
Ask Sao Tome, Ask Siere-lonians, Togoleese, (to list a few) KID!!!!!

The Russians, Angola, Zambians and Tanzanians gave both there lives and double the money for SA's freedom. Tell me how many nigerians took up guns for SA show me 1 death in your history for SA's freedom. How can you fight for SA when we gave you Freedom in year 2000 from the hands of 45years of chronic dictatorships. You fooools were subjugated slaves under black rule for decades while your country were looted by colonial cabal's who was in cohorts with your Dictators, today you sell your children to slave traders.

SA was a free country in 1910 already, you Zoogerian should stop your small dicccck syndrome.

Yes Nigeria is so advanced that its President is a Pauper in a UK hospital while your children are dying from famine as we speak.
You're shameless, I will pardon your ignorance on the basis that your too dumb to dig that, all your firms are struggling over themselves to do business in Nigeria, than SA, cos of our fertility business soil unlike ur xenophobic infested climate.

Simple question what has the better brain Nigerians done in the field of Science, medical or technological in Nigeria for the benefit of Africa in the last decade.

Lastly by intimidation you mean those loud mouths who talk a lot but no action unless its criminal related I guess.
I fought for your independence kid! And was tasked for your freedom. Kindly take your place behind me, you may be taller and bigger than me, but it doesn't change the fact that I am older and more advanced than you are.

LMFAO @ naturally better grin grin. I really don't know how to respond to that without sounding rude grin. I am speechless. With regards to most educated immigrants in the USA , the article said "Africans " not Nigerians. But I wouldn't doubt that majority of those Africans are Nigerians because you are the most desperate to live anywhere but your own country ( for obvious reasons) lol. Lucky? grin so we played the lottery and won the most developed country in the continent? grin. Nigerians grin

Lmfao@ intimidated . By what exactly ? . People who can't even provide themselves basic amenities? .people who are popular for all the wrong reasons ? . People who would do anything to remain in other countries than go back home and fix their own country? People who are industrious by mouth ?. Lol gtfoh. If anything, South Africans , other Africans and the world at large are wary of nigerians for obvious reasons. You are the ones who seem to have an inferiority complex, anytime and african country does well you get butthurt and start posting random bad stories and unproven "statistics "about that country or throw insults all over the place out of frustration I guess grin. Intimidated my ass grin.
Too busy for e-banters. To think that we fought and paid both in cash (students in Nigeria's high institutions at the time we tasked for SAns Freedom) and in kind for your independence and you have the effrontery to talk back at a Nigeria is baffling and the least despicable.

I won't bash you for Madiba's sake, because he was one human I have deep love

SA has its own problems too , no one can deny it but the Nigerians that always feel the need to make themselves feel better by claiming SAns are lazy and clueless must be called into order. If we are clueless and lazy , what do we call Nigerians then ?. Almost everything is functioning in SA courtesy of lazy people grin.
Nigerians are naturally better than SAns but SAns are luckily ahead. Nigerians have the brains for better things, (Check out our indices as the most educated and the most intelligent migrants in the US and around the world) but the mind for evil things (Crime rate).

SAns and other Africans are naturally intimidated by Nigerians little wonder they just cannot wait for another bad news coming from Nigeria and Nigerians.

I always lmfao when you Nigerians make excuses on why your country is underdeveloped, you claim to be smarter than SAns but you always fall behind us in almost every development indice grin. Why is the lazy country always doing better than you? .look up the major infrastructural developments under black leadership in both countries. What do you see? Who do you think is waking up every day to make those roads, those housing developments, those houses for the poor , ? . Who do you think is giving SAns piped water? . Who do you think is building the new power stations? Nigerians? Chinese? grin. Or in your envious mind you think we depend on power stations built during apartheid to accommodate just a few? Lol. Do you even know that SA has the biggest middle class In Africa? For lazy people we sure are doing well for ourselves unlike the "smart" busy bodies who have nothing worthwhile to present to the world. Lazy and clueless? Yet we are forever the ones building better roads even in poor communities grin. I really don't wish to be "smart and industrious" like you people lol.

Blaming your leaders for being backwards? Lol. Do you know your leaders are a reflection of your society?. Yes they are Nigerians born and raised in Nigeria by Nigerians. Under the three black leaders in SA so much development has taken place , what is stopping the "smart "Africans? .SA has corruption too , but the leaders put development first hence we continue to move forward. Even under zuma grin. The Nigerian mindset is the biggest problem in Nigeria not your lack of white population , get that through your head.
Now I wont lie on my couch and watch you talk down on this country I love so dearly and hope for a better day.

Yes! Nigeria has her own many problems, but it cannot be denied that "your SA" .......... forgotten what to type....... abeg de go jhor...... runs out of thread

Today was both fun and tension soaked for both the staffs and students of the department of Mass communication Unimaid (You know the normal NUC accreditation Team wahala, they can so find fault for Africa. To me its more of a fault finding exercise)

It was fun because at last the MCM students met their mentors and communication gurus, because you cannot study communication in Africa without citing or making references to this names; Prof. Umaru pate, Prof. Ralf Akinfeleye a d of course Prof, Innocent Okoye.

Tension soaked because even though your facilities are up tight like ours are, you would just be anticipating where you might be found wanting and this might spell on your points or rating.

My HOD and professors in the department were really up and doing so it went well.

Yours sincerely was on groud to interview them live on 97.7 unimaid Radio.

Here are a few shots I could take.

but why didn't we condemn d media wen dey were all over d media few years back? as a matter of fact we enjoyed watching dem pursuing our military men back den, we never saw anything wrong in all of dat. if not for d media who would ve known about d chibok girls? by now it would ve been a forgotten issue jux like d case of every other girls being kidnapped day to day.. back to d matter, Boko Haram is as strong as ever cuz they re still visibly around in those areas. there re attacks everyday n every seconds. innocent Nigerians are dying n no one is saying anything about it
I dig you bro, just note that; by their function, the media expose terrorist and their lethal acts and by their dysfunction, the media no doubt fuel terrorism by deliberately exaggerating attacks and inflating the numbers of casualties and also by always putting their nose to the ground, anticipating attacks, just to prove to their audience that they are always the first to report or break the news (terror attacks) to their audiences and that is why new findings are emerging and communication scholars are advocating for responsible reporting by media outfits. It is called peace journalism.

Just so you know that I am presently a finalist in the department of mass communication unimaid. In fact the blast work me up around exactly 1:14 or so.

Bros truth b told Boko Haram is still very much relevant alot of attacks happening everyday, alot of kidnapping every day, there re places till now u can't even go cuz security personnels will tell u it's not safe. there were series of attack last Sunday or thereabouts but d problem is it's no longer reported n I wonder to who's detriment of u don't report dem
I am doing a research work on the latter part of your comment.

The media is that oxygen terrorist depend on to stay "active and alive"

The truth is the media give them free publicity which they badly seek, and in fact they would go to any length to be in the news for obviously wrong reasons.

When ever there is an attack and the media report it, giving reference to them, it massages their ego and this they live for. And that is why in Denmark or so, their media as a professional tenets do not report terror attacks.

The 1999 constitution as amended provides in

Section 145. Whenever the President transmits to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives a written declaration that he is proceeding on vacation or that he is otherwise unable to discharge the functions of his office, until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary such functions shall be discharged by the Vice-President as Acting President.

146. (1) The Vice-President shall hold the office of President if the office of President becomes vacant by reason of death or resignation, impeachment, permanent incapacity or the removal of the President from office for any other reason in accordance with section 143 of this Constitution.

Thus, the Vice President cannot resign along with him, cos the purpose of having a Vice President in the first place is to provide a replacement where the President is incapacitated by whatever means or dead. Thus, I hope you're clear.

Contact me if you need any further legal advice
Still arguable, but I must say its getting clearer tho.

PoliticsIf Buhari Resigns Today, Will Osinbajo Also Step Down With Him? by mdokaba1(op):
I was in my room eve dropping at my neighbours arguing about the issue,

while one said osinbajo would have to step down with him in such instance because he (osinbajo) came under buhari's auspices, so he would have to step aside with PMB and a new election conducted but that it is only in the event of PMB's death (God forbid) that the mantle would be transfered to Osinbajo as was the case of GEJ during Yaradua's demise.

But the other insisted that Osinbajo would continue from where PMB stopped he said it is clearly spelt out in the constitution even when he did not quote the section. But the other guy seemed to agree with him because he did not push further with the argument.

And as a "somebory" who my neighbours consider as current (cut-c of nairaland) and lettered It kept me confused, because I knew if the argument gets hot, they would come to me for clarification and there I was not sure of what my response would be.

But as a sharp man weh get sabi men (nairalanders), I say make I come steal answer just incase....

I am not a legal savvy. Please lawyers in the house help me and my confused neighbours.

Because, If Mr President is in violation of a Law in our constitution, this can and should be contested.
Federal character is a law that stipulates that appointments/Employments into positions be evenly distributed across geopolitical zones. Regardless of wheher or not they voted you into office or not.

Please ladies come in and educate us of this pact between y'all and where you defaulted, leading to the so much dread for these creatures.
