johnydon22: Ok seriously i have only few concerns here...
Igbos seccession (Good or bad for the igbos)
How is that now giving non-igbos more concern than igbos themselves
Why do non-igbos think about biafra more than igbos
why is biafra like a thorn in the flesh of non-igbos that are supposed not to be concerned
If biafra turns out bad, isn't that supposed to be the problems of biafrans, why are you all worried about it
why are non-igbos worried, afraid and angry that igbos want to seccede
As a matter of fact, if the west or north wanted to seccede, the igbo man would not even be concerned or worried or debate them not to or criticize them. Because frankly they know how to mind their business and focus on what concerns them......... So why are you guys more concerned about biafra than igbos
p.s: Am not a stark pro biafra but at least i know when people should mind their business |

While meeting with President Buhari in the White House on Monday, President Obama reiterated the truth that many here have told those who think that division is the solution to the problems in their live. Below is Obama taking a wipe at such misconceptions:
A divided country never succeeds. Turn the diversity of Nigeria to source of strength, Obama tells PMB.
President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn to lead with fairness, constitutional provisions and protect the whole of Nigeria, it is only wise to seek way to bring good governance and development to our local communities. Therefore anyone luring you to arm confrontations, secession and the quest to undermine and destroy Nigeria, do not have your interest at heart. We must rid ourselves of mischief makers who are whispering evil in our ears.
Together we can build a stronger and better Nigeria.
God bless Buhari, Obama, our beloved Nigeria and all law-abiding Citizens of Nigeria![/s] |

gists: [s]Why disturb us with Biafra? FUll disclosure: I am a full blown Yoruba man with no blood ties to other ethic group. I usually feel unconcerned by the cessation proponent because I strongly believe any group of people have the right to determine what is best for them. AND THAT INCLUDE THE CALL FOR BIAFRA.
Ordinarily, I also don't give a damn about the operation of the so called radio biafra because truth-be-told NADECO also operated a radio station! BUT the only difference is that NADECO did not incite the people against the nation and I don't recall any call by NADECO for people to take up arms. We have read the reports of the call for 1 million rifles and 1 million men to carry the rifles. This is where I get concerned and particularly because I see a huge disconnect in recent history and this hypocritical call for the cessation movement.
June 12 elections was cancelled and the rest is history. But do we remember the role played by the Association of Better Nigerians (ABN) - better known as the Area Boys of Nigeria. That association was in the fore front of clamoring for the cancellation of that election and seek the elongation of the Babangida regime. That association was created by a prominent Igbo man - Aurthur Nzeribe. The question is where were the secessionist wailing babies when one of their prominent fathers pioneered the extension of a military regime led by a Hausa man at the detriment of their southtern brothers/neighbours?
We all know (except for a few babies on nairaland) the amazing role played by another prominent Igbo son - Daniel Kanu in the call for the extension of yet another military junta led by non other than the infamous Abacha. May we ask again why there was no call for Biafra creation. Daniel Kanu also form an organisation call Youth Earnerstly Ask for Abach (YEAA) and organised 1-million man march in supporto of Abacha's proposed transition from military to civilian president. I guess Nnamdi Kanu hadn't received his Biafra calling at that time. By the way, I will like to see how Buhari will respond to this man when he tries to renew his Nigerian Passport
We also know of a certain Ifeanyi Uba who also setup TAN to campaign for GEJ's second term bid. Yet again the wailers didn't see the need to call for Biafra and in fact supported and campaigned for GEJ's second term bid as Nigerian president.
Honestly, all of the above cases didn't pain me. The one that infuriate me the most is the fact that the father of Biafra himself the late IKEMBA OJUKWU FORMED A POLITICAL PARTY AND CONTESTED ELECTION TO BE PRESIDENT, MANY OF THESE WAILING BABIES DID NOT VOTE FOR HIM!!!
All of a sudden they hypocritically remember "Their Was a Country" to be re-created when their hero GEJ lost woefully in the last election. Now they will not let us rest and asking fo0lish question why the Yorubas are not calling for cessation? Well we also ask why should the some people alway seek the approval of other tribes to validate their ego. Is this not a big sign of low self esteem?
Thank God their is life outside the internet. I have met and worked with many Igbos in real life and they are very reasonable people and far from the wailing babies on Nairaland.[/s] rubbish as usual.......but when the elders of the south west sold the same abiola for a pot of porridge this grown man didn't remember that......for the 8 years of obasanjo he refused to immortalise june 12 as democracy day.....he didn't even recognise abiola.......how is that an igbo mans problem? When the same abiola made sure that awo never became president, how is that the igbo mans problem? I think its best this yoruba op should desist from this hypocritical advice to the igbos and face your people...... Do not support the way this biafra thing is going on and I will definately not support foo.lish rants like these..... |

ezeagu: I don't want to make this about Tinapa, I've been through this before:
"The managing director of the resort, Bassey Ego Ndem, said Tinapa was designed to provide Nigerian businesspeople with a local alternative to Dubai and to retain some of the large amounts of money which have been flowing out of Nigeria. Ndem blamed Tinapa’s problems on the failure of Nigeria’s federal government to provide legal backing to the resort’s operations.Such legal backing, he said, was expected to include conferring on Tinapa the status of a free trade zone.
Former governor Duke’s administration reportedly received assurances from former president Obasanjo’s office that Tinapa would enjoy free trade status, but there is no paperwork to prove that the former president made the commitment.
The Tinapa project is still being considered by the federal government but the Customs Service has so far refused to give its approval. Ndem said the presence of customs officials at the resort – who carry out orders from head office not to allow the duty free zone to operate – had been a stumbling block to its operations."

Nigeria: Country Loses N219b Yearly On Tinapa - This Day "Calabar — Nigeria may be losing more than N219 billion annually to Dubai due to the failure of the Federal Government to approve the procedures and guidelines for the take-off of the Tinapa Business and Leisure Resort in Calabar, Cross River State."

ChemicalMallam: [s]A response to Biafrans The major problem with our people is ignorance.... People would rather watch 5 seasons of prison break than take a book and read...afterwards they come online and post all sorts of crap...yes the civil war was brutal, yes civilians died of hunger and starvation, yes innocent people were slaughtered.... But what did you expect?.... It was a war!!! I find it totally absurd that igbo's would rather demonize the federal Govt instead of admitting that their leaders were also to blame for thier suffering during the civil war.... If ojukwu had surrendered after the first 1 year of d war, most of d suffering would have been averted. But no... He chose to let his people starve than to surrender..... While Biafrans were starving, ojukwu refused to allow aide agencies deliver aid unless they paid him cash in addition to the aid.... Can u imagine? The truth is Nigeria isn't perfect... We are facing a lot of challenges as a Nation... But all countries faced these challenges at one point or the other... And these challenges are better faced united than devided... Our biggest problem is not that we are multi ethnic or a multi religious nation, no!.... But our problem remains that our leaders lack the moral and political will to bring about meaningful development. Before you start asking for republic of Biafra, arewa republic, oduduwa republic or what ever the hell u'd like to call ur ethnic states; please first of all ask ur governors what they've done with what they've been receiving from the fed govt.... Ask yourself this qstn... Can I really trust this people with more money? Ask urself what is really the problem? What or who is responsible for my present condition?... Is it because a Hausa man is the president? Or is it because my Governor has taken the money allocated to build class rooms for my children and instead used it to buy houses abroad? Demand accountability from ur leaders at all levels.... In conclusion the average Hausa man on the street in Kano is not the enemy of the Igbo trader in Enugu, but instead they are both victims of the Same oppressor.... The oppressor that has denied ur children access to education, ur wives access to health care, ur graduates access to employment..... That oppressor is Corruption... Even if Nigeria is devided into a million pieces; if we don't stamp out corruption we will still leave in abject poverty.... Regardless of our tribes or ethnicities, our needs are the same; food on the table, education for our kids, employment for our youths, dignity for one another.... Fellow Nigerians.... What binds us is Much stronger than what separates us.... Do not succumb to hate and tribalism...[/s] |

If the federal government are not doing anything by now to scrap this courses from our universities, then it means our economic liberation as a nation is still far-fetched. This courses should be replaced with the courses below. Not as a vocational program now, but as a degree program. Nigerians don’t like to identify with anything vocational, they love to go for ‘NYSC’. • Software Development • Welding and Fabrication • Fashion Designing • Concrete Finishing (Plastering, Screading, Painting, Tiles) • Interior designing and Decoration • Security Systems Technology • Wood Finishing • Road Construction Tech • Leather Extraction and Finishing • Cinematography and Movie making • Advanced Programming • Furniture making • Solar Engineering • Automation Engineering • Hospitality Management • Waste Management and Recycling Tech • Web Development and Management • Graphics, Branding and Industrial Printing • Plant technology and Herbal sciences • Content development and Research

Now; This is what I know about the children of Biafra; As soon as they can crawl / walk, they would always seek refuge from the evil land and move first almost 80% of the time to Yoruba & Hausa lands but the evil from their land never leaves them.
They then infest the land that accommodates them with pure evil of mass murder in fake pharmaceuticals and narcotics; armed robbery, kidnapping, okija rituals and the rest of it. The perfect symbol of a Biafra is in the image of Clifford Orji.
Invest in the land of satan ? First ask how many other Nigerians resides in the evil land; the landlocked evil land where they breed children to slaughter for sacrifice, with their rivers of blood (esu) floating with bodies of 49 young men of their own, slaughtered without a flinch, a land of okija rituals, and you ask me to come invest in the evil land?
How many of the evil children of satan have their businesses in the land of biafra with the ways of life you choose to live. The only reason the toxic children of the evil land can't stay in their landlocked region is b'cos its purely evil, and if the toxic children of satan can't stay there to make a decent living, how is any other sane person that is not evil able to stay and make a living there?
