Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Can I Get A Job With My 3rd Class Degree??? by meccuno: 4:58am On Jun 27, 2015
bodeoni:
Its not the degree that gets one a job, its your ability. The degree is just a way of shortlisting so as to reduce some load. One thing you could do is to de-emphasize your education on your CV and emphasize your achievements. I also think you should look outside microbiology cos its a course that hasn't really found its place in Nigeria hence few job oppurtunties.

Modified
By way of addition, I know some people will recommened that you start self-employment. Believe me, its not always the best option especially if you don't have adequate resources and proper know-how for whatever trade you might choose. Like I said earlier, de-emphasize education on all your applications. What you need to do now is gain some serious intermediate-expert level competency in various skills esp skills like Problem solving, Interpersonl skiils, Communication skills, critical thinking/questioning. You should also develop your research I.e knowing where/ how to obtain information and to properly harness or utilize said info for profit.

Nigeria is rapidly evolving and those who will be on top in the times to come are those who can properly harness the power of information (or knowledge)

Its not going to be easy, a lot of people will look down on you cos of the class of your degree. Some will even offer to pay you peanuts. You must be constantly developing yourself as you will always have to prove what you are really worth.

It will be all good in the end.

eyeview:
My wife and I watched the movie just once but our disappointment lasted for almost a week. We were waiting for the high point of the movie till it ended. We were really wondering what the hype was all about.
I turned to some of my friends to ask about the movie, just wanted to be sure that it wasn't me who had lost my sense of humour and they all opened up on how flat and 'over hyped' the movie was.
Infact someone suggested that those who paid the initial exhorbitant fees at the cinema should have started a riot there and then for a refund or atleast some change.
I just feel the AY guy just gave the movie the needed hype and by the time you realize it,it would be too late cos you would have parted with cash.
lolz....u are even funnier than Ay.....AY isn't that funny....the reason why I like him is that he never gives up,hardworking and has good packaging......no comedian in Nigeria has the kind of marketing strategy the guy has.....that's why I like him...

[s]Dear Naira Landers,

Giving a juicy positions to Northerners alone is not possible, because Nigeria is made up of both Southern and Northern Parts of the country. Mr. president is not a Regional or Religious bigot, therefore, let us shun all forms of sentiment and face realities considering the facts that the statements was baseless.

But if it were to be Igbo/South Southerner doing this (appointing mainly Igbos/South South), by now we (Ndigbo/South South and the President concerned) would have received a truckload of abuse on our heads and serious efforts would be underway to mount a campaign of calumny and make the country ungovernable!

[s]If the guys mentioned are credible enough to restore the glory of the organisation then so be it... I dont give a damn.

PMB is the president and from the NW. If he desires to appoint people close to him whom he trusts to head the most sensitive organisation in Nigeria, so be it. If his administration fails, he is the one that eventually takes all the blame just like GEJ took all the blame even when people coerced him to do silly things.

Of what use is it to me if NNPC is headed by my brother and at the end, all refineries are dead for 5 years, government spends several trillions of naira to pay private merchants to import fuel even when we still have NNPC (this is one bit I never understood), tens of billions of dollars are not remitted to federation account, miscreants are 'miraculously' springing up as billionaires and buying private jets etc? If PMB wants to make his wife Aisha the GMD, so be it as long as the company becomes functional again.

The only people who raise such inciting stories to cause disaffection are the rogues who want to be appointed into those posts to enrich themselves. These rogues always incite people with the ethnic/tribal/religious card and foolish people fall for their bait all the time screaning tribalism.

Did the people there now not destroy the organization? So what are we talking about... If the appointments are based on merit then even the Sultan can be appointed GMD.

From the accountant, to the doctor who is an experienced administrator in the sector, all I see are technocrats. If they're the ones that can rescue the organization, then so be it.
so all the technocrats that Nigeria has are from the North?

This is the APC legacy that will ultimately destroy Nigeria. 2 sections of Nigeria that contribute almost zilch to the national coffers somehow ganged up to grab power and have been acting as if they are on a mission to 'teach everybody else a lesson'. . , grabbing all positions for themselves while utilising resources from other areas to foot the bills. . This country is a multi ethnic sttate. Her composition demands a well entrenched system of decentralisation and devaluation of power. Buhari and gang don't seem to get this. .

PDP warts and all, implemented a very strong-nerve calming zoning system that gave every section of this over troubled country some sense of belonging. Tinubu and buhari said that was wrong. Now, we are back to the days of the winner takes all and its attendant mayhem. How will they militants react to this news? How will the political leaders from the oil producing east handle this evil reality? WITH the exception of the boko haram madness, we have had relative peace in this country all through the jonathan years. Now we are going to watch this peace sacrificed on buharis alter of tribal chauvinism.. .

Ultimately, there will be a push back , because nobody is ready for any sort of internal colonialism from a bunch of administrative misfits representing a parochially conservative culture.. . If you can only stand a government/administration populated from top to bottom by your tribal siblings, get yourself a tribal republic!!! I don't know why some people are desperate to force-fed others with their nauseously retarded tribal hubris in this unfortunate country. These people are slowly nudging this country towards a civil war with their wayward ambitions.

OP, its a pity your post smacks of falsehood and lies. As regards accomodation you cannot compare Lagos and Anambra. You said Anambra is home to all, how come i was attacked at Onitsha bridge head a few years ago, just becos i am ndi Yoruba? How many non Igbos are in that your home for all compared to Lagos?
You did not see anything wrong with Achebe's rants about Yorubas in his books? Arthur Eze's insults? Nnamdi Kalu's incessant incitement for all Yorubas to be killed? Asking Ibos to boycott all Yoruba churches etc.

But you keep talking about the Oba and Ariyo. So how many Ibos have been attacked in Lagos or any where in the south west since then? Your assertion that Lagos is built with Oil money is terribly false, as at 1979 when Lagos was already a big city oil was contributing less than 30% of total government revenue, even now Laglos generates more than 70% of government's non oil revenue. Lagos generates far more revenue to government than it receives, so how can you say Lagos was developed by oil money?
Lagos has ceased to be a federal capital since 1991, how come you people have not gone to Abuja en masse to claim the place as no mans land?
Reason» Abuja Doesn't Have A Seqa Port......

Lol. I repeat that you are a dolt. You just dey form for here like say you smart but you ain't shyt. America's economy is post-industrial now. They outsource the bulk of their industry to China, India, e.t.c. Those 'industrialists' you allude to are only paper industrialists, they produce virtually all their products in China to save cost. cheesy They are coming to Ogun soon wink
with this statement of yours,I now understand your level of understanding and reasoning......whether post or pre, the success of America was as a result of INDEGENOUS COMPANIES.......Ford,General Electric, apple, cornaige Steel......no country would ever prosper or succeed with only foreign investment......and for your info, china produces most goods because its relatively cheaper the laws in america will not allow slave labour....they have standards......and remember in israel, th e reason why they succeed and have foreign intervention is because of the indigenous companies.....which are being bought by foreign companies because of its potentials.......most times its not compulsory to post......reading alone makes one learn......but tribal inclination won't make you see properly

To the South East haters, when was the last time your entire region attracted a big enough investment that can potentially generate up to 10,000 jobs? Some of your leaders are even whinning that Dangote has refused to invest in your region, can one blame him? ? Even your 'billionaires' would rather invest in the SW cheesy Food for thought. grin
I stand to be corrected.....the SE has more entrepreneurs than the SW counter part.......attracting foreign investment is good, but have a middle class population and a large micro economy boost the economy......using quotes for the word billionaires actually makes me feel if you know who a billionaire is......innoson for one is a billionaire.....and he is based in Nnewi and enugu......stop having this false impression that one has to come to lagos before he makes it......
