hamedfatai: I am sure the president is prepared for all these attacks and that is why a contract was given to Mr. Government Tompolo to procure 5 battle ships in order to prepare for war without involving the armed forces. The Nigerian Naval ought to have been given this responsibility if it was a national issue. We hope the security unit and other political parties should not overlook this issue as there have not been any criticism of this dangerous plan. when I read statements like this,I get upset. Do you know what a battle ship looks like? Do you know how much it cost to buy one? And how much does it cost to maintain the battle ship? Because you are looking for cheap propaganda, and any available opportunity for your smear campaign, you do not scrutinise any information that is being disseminated. Ask your self, how many battle ships does Nigeria have. |

Why would I come online expecting to see educative and informative posts and all I see is bad news? Islam again?? Had an argument with a muslim peep and he told me that the Koran is superior to the Nigerian Constitution. That was when I knew we are messed up as a nation. There is no day you won't hear about some one trying to cause mayhem or kill some body. Wonder if love your neighbours as yourself is even in their holy book. |

I saw it by carefully observing his stony face. I watched the interview then.....am sure buhari wasn't expecting the kind of questions he was being asked. If he had the chance,he would have sentenced the reporter to 100 years for daring to ask him such questions. |

Politics › Re: Will South South Support South East When The Time Comes? by meccuno: 2:41pm On Dec 19, 2014 |
Dereformer: I want to start this writeup by saying I am a die hard supporter of GEJ. No amount of campaign of calumny by APC will make me and my family and of course my entire students vote APC. Never.
I want to also say that I am the proudest Igbo man on earth. So nobody should be in doubt.
I am beginning to get worried as to whether we the Igbos will get the same level of support from our South south brother as we have given them in the past and even now.
It is on record that one of the greatest reasons why my beloved country, Biafra , was defeated in the war was because of the sabotage from our brothers in the south south.
My father told me that, had the south south not joined forces with the Nigerian government, we would have received the much needed arms and ammunition including relief materials, from Gabon and other countries that recognized Biafra, through Port Harcourt.
We have put all that behind us as evidenced by the maximum support we gave one of their own in the 2011 presidential election and also by the even greater support we will give them come February 2015.
The federal government before the emergence of GEJ has always created enmity between the south east and the south south. It is this divide and rule approach that has characterized federal government's dealings with the south south and south east.
GEJ will win the election come 2015, that I am very sure of. But again, will the south south support the south east when the time comes as it will soon come?
Please APC and all their supporters should keep off this thread. you are not igbo.....stop fooling your self please......concentrate on what problems need to be solved in ur village and leave the igbos alone. |

The strange thing about this debate is that most people who obviously cannot hide their tribal traits are trying as much as possible to make igbos look bad. But trying to make it look as if they are making a sane argument. Some even go to the extent to labelling the SE as landLocked. Ignorance is really a disease that if not checked, might make a whole "Nation" feel sophistication, but just a case of the blind mice with their different description of what an elephant they can't see is. As someone posted above. After the insults, you would expect us to join the "progressives" through our votes. A situation were everything igbo sells and makes up to 10 to 15 pages. While some "sophisticated" folks barely make the 1st page. Trying so hard to disprove the fact that igbos are rising again is like swimming against the tide. If the persecution can be this intense imagine what they would do when voted into power. The stone which the nigerian builders rejected would soon become the chief corner stone. |

datribune: What hypocritical crap. How is it anybody's fault dat once again APGA & Ohaneze ndigbo chose bigotry over d national interest? Realizing dat GEJ has failed nigeria woefully, entreaties were made to all political parties to join hands in a grand alliance to form a major opposition to d PDP & save nigeria frm d evil grip of corruption. Unfortunately there was a problem - while other tribes will in d national interest withdraw their support frm even theirs if cited for corruption, wrongdoing or incompetence, ndigbo will rather support even barefaced crimininalty as far as it is perpetrated by an igbo or as in dis case an Azikiwe whom they see as theirs. APGA & d Ohaneze made it clear that their choice was to go on wit d monumental failure dat is GEJ & d PDP. d few igbo dat knew dat CPC, AC, APGA & other regional parties could not save nigeria & opted to join dis national movement to save Nigeria received all sorts of opposition & oppobrium frm d shortsighted bigots. At d end of d day sycophancy to d PDP is shortsighted. If u think other nigerians bearing d economic brunt of dis clueless govt will go on dis way & vote 4 GEJ again just to satisfy d shortsightedness of a section of society, u ar on a long thing. SAI BUHARI you clearly do not understand the igbo people. You think by speaking all the grammar makes you clever? It clearly doesn't. The igbos do not want buhari as simple as that. Majority of them. And finally, the more most yoruba peeps come out openly or secretly to insult the igbos about their candidate without bringing someone who is better than GEJ,the more the inactive igbos would actually vote for GEJ. You don't insult a people and expect them to see reason with you. |

Politics › Re: Please Find Below, The Reasons, Why Igbos Are Better Voting Buhari. by meccuno: 9:11pm On Dec 14, 2014 |
Adminisher: Jonathan promises only four more years. Ibos need to be realistic. Their interests are longer range than four years. The man is humble and flexible but like Lao Tsu would say, "he is not he, she is not she, they are not they". Jonathan is five or six people (some people say all these different people are all women) working for themselves against each other. That is why he could promise the north single term and renege on that who is the Ibo that he wont do same?. Ibos would do well to support the APC, vote out the corrupt clique and prepare to contend for power in 2019 before any of these women who constitute GEJ lead his presidency into utter destruction.
However if all Ibos want is vengeance against Nigeria for imagined hurts of the past then they can go ahead and sink with the Jonathan boat. Every action.will generate its consequence without fail. I read each comment carefully, analyse the tribe and try to understand why the person made that kind of comment. What I discovered is that most tribes have this disdain for the igbo tribe and I wonder who is the friend of the igbos. Voting buhari doesn't change the fact that the prefer to hold them down which they had partial success. Igbos have no friends in Nigeria so whatever decision they make shouldn't be sentimental because at they end of the day,no matter the success they would try to give us a bad name in other to hang. |

Unfortunately, most people don't learn from history. These are one of the major reasons why a war was fought and some peole being blinded as usual want to allow the status quo to remain. GEJ is a blessing in disguise, because in as much as he hasn't been given the chance to prove him self,it would be better to remain there. Why? Because the cycle of Northern rule and dominance would only stunt our growth. They are no interested in what qualifications the president that is coming from the North has. But the idea of power returning back to the North. |

“This new Nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grandfather, Uthman Dan Fodio. We must RUTHLESSLY prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the north as willing tools, and the South, as conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us, and never allow them to have control over the future.” Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto & Premier of Northern Region: The Parrot newspaper, October 12, 1960. |
