jopretty: I'm not going to support or condemn MMM either but I see people starting up businesses with money gotten from MMM, couples funding their weddings from MMM, most prostitudes quiting their 'jobs' cos of MMM, and yet govt want to shut it down why because to them, it is a scam? I know about 6 bankers who were laid off their jobs that are into MMM and 4 of them have delved into business and the future looks promising to them. I suggest they let them be. They already know it is a risky deal ( what is not risky now?) if at the end of the day it crashes, then they'll bear and endure the losses, besides it's not like there are that too many ready jobs to keep nigerians engaged and fulfilled. Exactly my thought.. Everything in Nigeria is drama. Let's see how far they can go. We are watching in 3D. |
Investment › MMM! Scam Or Not? by mecusbosco(op): 10:22pm On Nov 09, 2016 |
I am not trying to promote MMM neither am I trying to encourage people to continue to patronise the scheme. Whatever MMM stands for is not in any way my concern but my concern lies on the interest and incessant awareness/campaign of fear being created by firstly, SEC followed by the CBN and now Reps. As I was about to go home after the business of the day, a friend drew my attention to the news alert titled “Reps asks security operatives to arrest promoters of MMM”. This quickly gave me a lot of concern as I kept thinking where exactly lies the interest of our leaders. Some years back, innocent Nigerians were acquiring shares of various companies, banks etc. So many of these acquired shares from the NSE has become NULL and VOILD. People bought millions of units of the defunct Afribank, Spring Bank and Bank PHB just to mention but a few. Staff of these banks were granted loans and forced to buy those shares. Even when the banks were taken over by new investors, staff were as well mandated to fully pay down on those loans. As we speak today, these shares have no value as these banks are CAPUT. These questions quickly came to my mind:- 1. Where was CBN, SEC and the Reps when investors lost their hard earned monies invested in above mentioned organisations? 2. If MMM is a scam or wonder bank, what will you call the Stock market where investors are at no one’s mercy? 3. Are there policies in place to mitigate these issues raised? So many banks are distressed today and I am envisaging future acquisitions. Are shared holders protected? If you ask me, I will say that Stock Market is the real scam or wonder bank as investors are on their own but thank God no one asked me so in turn, I have not said anything. Since people can no longer depend on government for daily bread, I suggest people should be allowed to invest in whatever they feel like. Whether MMM or Stock market etc. After all, Scam is Scam whether registered or not. However, there should be caveat as well. Just like “VEHICLES ARE PARKED AT OWNERS RISK” instead of “DO NOT PARK YOUR VEHICLE HERE”. People’s money, peoples risk. Who cares? Only NFCS does ….. NB: This post is not in any way an attempt to promote MMM or any other money making machine wonder bank scheme but I am just here to seek for answers but Sen.Ben Bruce would rather make common sense. |

bigtt76: So what of the dollars the banks were to sell to BDCs? Did they source it from the Black market ni? These people are not just telling us the truth. The banks stopped the card transactions after CBN suspended 19 banks from selling their forex.
What this meant is that when the banks are suspended, they cannot continue to payout Naira to customers while they have a horde of forex unused in their vaults.
They would end up not having Naira again since they cannot use the forex to settle their bills externally without CBN clamping down on them nor can they sell to the BDCs to get Naira. Just watch, when the suspension is lifted, they will resume ....#uselessBanks I'm not sure understand the way bank operates... |

Computers › Buying Guide: Home Wireless Networking by mecusbosco(op): 8:36am On Feb 09, 2015 |
BUYING GUIDE: HOME WIRELESS NETWORKING
A secure wireless network makes sharing files between computers and devices (like a printer or phone) easy. WiFi lets you surf the internet using a modem and router, without messy cables. We look at how Wi-Fi works and the gear you'll need.
WHAT IS A WIRELESS NETWORK? A wireless network connects multiple computers and devices (printers, phones, tablets etc) together, without using cables. The devices "talk" to each other through a central hub called a router. This enables the computers and devices to:
Share files and documents. Connect multiple computers to the one printer. Enjoy multi-player gaming. Load files from portable wireless devices, such as an phones and tablets.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF WI-FI? Wireless networks do away with messy cables. This leaves you free to wander around the house or office, while staying connected. New computers have Wi-Fi technology built-in, while older ones will require a USB adaptor.
CONNECT TO THE INTERNET Most wireless routers come with a modem built into them. This enables all devices connected to the router to be simultaneously connected to the Internet.
IS IT HARD TO SET UP? Not at all. The latest generation of networking gear (routers) comes with easy-to-follow wizards that guide you through the process. Simply plug in, follow the prompts and you're away.
WHAT ARE "STANDARDS"? Wireless technology (Wi-Fi) is available in a range of standards. These refer to factors such as the data transfer rate and the operating frequency. The standard you choose ultimately affects your network's speed and its range (distance):
The top standard today is 802.11n. This offers faster transfer rates and more range than the previous 802.11g format.
IMPORTANT SECURITY NOTE! If you do not take the necessary security steps, your network will be left wide open to anyone within range. They could gain access to files on your computers (this could include banking details or passwords). They could also download illegal content using your Internet account.
Some, but not all, of the ways to secure your network include:
Change the default administrator passwords. Turn on the encryption to scramble the messages sent over the wireless network. MAC (Media Access Control) restricts network access to selected devices.
THE GEAR YOU'LL NEED Router: The central device that communicates to all connected devices:
Choose a router with built-in modem for Internet access. Also look for built-in firewalls for extra security. Ensure it supports the latest 802.11n format. Network cable: While wireless does away with cables, they offer much faster ADSL transfer speeds, so it's always good to have the option.
Wireless network adapter: This is Important if the laptop or desktop you want to connect doesn't have Wi-Fi capabilities already built into it, or to upgrade your laptop Wi-Fi standards:
It's important to match the adapter to the standard of the router you're using. USB adapters simply plug in, rather than being physically installed inside the computer. Network adaptors are backwards compatible. This means an 802.11g device will work with an 802.11b device etc. Wireless access point: Think of this as a wireless extension cable to give you more range, so you can move further away without the signal being too weak.
Extra range antenna: Makes your router signals more powerful, for extra range.
Network printer: Connects to the network so multiple computers can print from it.
SIMPLE HOME WIRELESS NETWORK CHOICES Router: A router with an in-built modem will connect to the Internet.
Standards: Aim for 802.11n.
Security: Make sure you secure your Wi-Fi network to ensure your files are safe.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS More range: Use a wireless access point or an extra-range antenna to increase the range of the network.
Network adapters: If your laptop doesn't have built-in Wi-Fi, you can buy a network adapter.

Christianity Etc › Re: Is It Sinful For A Christian To Be Using Chains And Earrings? by mecusbosco(m): 4:49am On Feb 01, 2015 |
Vikkie14: Yeah. This is what is called "IMPORTED GOSPEL".
Only SLAVES(both in Bible days and during Slave trade) had their ears bore as a mark of OWNERSHIP. So, why the earring in the first place? What do you want to GAIN? Are you saying God is a BAD creator? If God want you to have a bored ear, he would had done that before your birth. Or are you the one that informed Him to inscribed the the lines on your palm?? So, WHY THESE? Wearing earrings as a christian is like offering Strange Fire on the Altar. It's deadly, it can kill.
Forget about denomination. A REAL CHRIST ian with "christ" inserted and not a X tian with an "X" would know Christianity is not about "bench and plastic chair warming", "going to church". The Apostles were first called CHRISTIAN in Antioch, why? Because people cant decipher between Christ their leader and the Disciples. So also, you can't profess to be a "christian" with traces of worldliness in you-- Be it earring, bumshot, legging, sphag(abi na Indomie), studd(as a male), mini/micro skirts, ISN'T THAT WHY THERE ARE MORE PROSTITUTES IN CHURCH THAN HOTELS?. We know a tree by the FRUITS it produces.
Must we borrow/import the "things" of the World into the church and then says it's "civilization" and "swagger ism"??. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A MUSLIM WORE TROUSER or MINI/MICRO SKIRT(as a lady) TO MOSQUE BEFORE??. we need to reshuffle our Life. Some even argued that "My God is a God of Grace, he is merciful" but they failed to remembered that HE IS ALSO A CONSUMING FIRE. The God of GRACE(God's Riches At Christ Expense) could turn to God of GRACE(God's Resources Against Cruel Enemies) if you aint careful. The God that called us to be HOLY and PERFECT has already provided the ways for its achievement.
WORLDLINESS IS LIKE OFFERING STRANGE FIRE, IT CAN KILL!!!
This is what is "Imported Gospel" does. Did you come out from your mother's womb with a handset? But today I guess you even typed this shit from a phone. "Love your neighbour as you love your self" that's the greatest commandment. Forget whether u put on earrings or Necklaces. If I tell you what those people that doesn't wear earrings do ehh! You will close your nairaland account! |

5minsmadness: Ok, first of all, I LOVE cartoons. I have watched everything from Tom and Jerry to Disney's Spirit, Stallion of the Cimaron. I have watched thundersub, voltron, superted, ben 10, justice league, naruto series, bleach series,ed, edd, and eddie, phineas and ferb pinkie and the brain etc etc etc. Trust me when I say you are speaking to a cartoon enthusiast here.
All the cartoons you mentioned are nice. They are funny and actionpacked. Those are not the cartoons I am talking about.
Most of the cartoon from Cow and Chicken downwards are disgusting and some are obscene and it gets worse as you get closer to 2014. In The Regular show, a big armed guy fights with death(a fearful drawing, not funny at allllll of death) over his friend who has died. This is not a manga, it is a kid's program. Death is shown with sharp teeth and hollow eyes. I am an adult and I had to change the channel, it was horrible.
Bill and Mandy was initially a bit horrifying but now it is downright terrifying with bill dying and going to hell and resurrecting and dying etc. With terrible demon dolls coming to torture Mandy. Watch it and tell me it is entertainment for your two year old.
Permit me to share two pictures of adventure time, the cartoon I am talking about. I honestly dont think you have watched it. The original writer of adventure time quit because he said he was beginning to lose his mind. The worm you see in the picture down there enters your ear while you sleep and feeds on your soul until your brain is mush, what's funny about that? The princess in black sucks life out of everything around her when she becomes too emotional like being in love or being angry etc. the king with the hat and pointy teeth oh boy, you need to see what he does. You are an adult that loves cartoons it seems. I will advice you to watch it and be honest and tell me if you think the cartoon is for kids even though it is obviously targetted at them.
Just as a sidenote, cartoon for kids early on is bad for them. TV for kids before the age of 2 is bad for thier speech and cognition centres. Google it up. I thought the same as you concerning that aspect but I know better now. You don't have to generalise every cartoon with that Adventure Time. Just as there are good movies both action and otherwise, bad ones are there for the taken too. It has nothing to do with cartoon especially. In everything good thing, there has to be something bad I guess! |

stupor: Now i really feel like going hard on some people's' gullibility as this amidst many are the main reasons why we still remain backward and retrogressive in Nigeria.(No offense).
Its like you saying a former MD of a former bank has no degree for the position he had asssumed while he was in office.or is there any army officer without at least an SSCE ! Its quite demeaning !
Its a disgrace to all Nigerians and most especially when you see well educated ones totally licking or sucking to their incontrollable greedy missions to steal and corrupt the few remaining Nigerians who are totally and also innocently unaware.for me its a thing of great concern !
The process of Brainwash has nothing to do with your skin colour, education or social background .its a complete Altering, default and involuntary abuse of your Right-thinking mind.
Its when a clergy tells lies to millions of his congregation and many would follow suit,i also do.A church says according to his doctrine,No staunch member should watch TV and 20 years later that same chuch says its okay to watch TV.(No offense) !
Its also when a terrorist uses the name of islam to cajole innocent Nigerians to follow him in his own destructive and selfish idealism with or without the brainwashed knowing !
Its when A Politician bribes you to be voted and stupidly all thanks to brainwash, you voted him in and the next month,he or she assumes office he buys a new house and Range Rover Sports all from 'brainwashed' millions who paid their tax only for them to say-its okay and fine i will vote him in next time-This a dent to a man's'pysche to reason normally. Its a sickening Spell on many under a 21st century governance !
Yesterday,In a popular Bus Stop in Lagos,Mile two precisely about three days ago, according to an eye witness,An Army officer alighted from a public bus and left at the boot of the bus a bag of money containing-N13,000,000.00 naira, the bus conductor got on a bike with the bag of money, chased after the military man and gave him his money.shortly after,he left the miltary man to tell his peeps at the motor park what happened,as touts in their usual manner pounced on the bus conductor and was given a beaten of his life as they smear his head with empty bottles till he slumped before he was rescued by sympatizers before they would kill him.dont you think those guys that beat the Bus conductor for returning the money should all be decorated with our enviable national honours for a job well done.hmmm...This happened in Mile Two yesterday. Its totally appalling ! No one knows the difference between right from wrong anymore.
Nigerians that still get their minds torched and brainwashed because of some smart and deviously executed agenda of some very few people could eventually lead us to catastrophic high points where no one might be able to control.
I am using this medium to enable us start a proper process of de-brainwashing.it doesnt have to get this high.we can and it has to start personally with ourselves.
ALSO POLITICAL ASPIRATION IS NOT A TICKET TO BECOMING AN OVERNIGHT BILLIONAIRE ! EVERY KOBO AND NAIRA INCOME OF THE COUNTRY IS NOBODY'S' PRiVATE BUSINESS ACCOUNT.if its not well appropriated and accounted for becomes a scam and these overtime too can become business as usual if we stop being brainwashed.
Nigerians must stop this ! Brainwash is something you dont see but its a tool often deployed by people with shrewd intentions to perpetuate evil and if it goes on like its busines as usual it will become a norm. ! Thats not sane !
Brainwash is an urgent plague and cankerworm if you sincerely agree with me ! Help yourself at least for now,be wise.life is vanity but at least must it be preserved and worthily lived.
PLEASE KINDLY IGNORE SOME OF MY STRONG LANGUAGES SOMETIMES THE TRUTH IS BITTER AND ALSO VOTE FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE IN THE COMING ELECTiONS WITHOUT COAX,BIAS AND VIOLENCE.
God bless every Nigerian and may the soul of the dead find peace.Amen. Why should this certificate issue be allowed to linger till now. I worked with one of the Nigerian banks in 2008 and a colleague was sacked after 1yr for certificate forgery. Having said that, any new management in a good company will like to review CV/CERTIFICATE of her employees to know those that are in the wrong positions with respect to their qualification and discipline. All they need to do is to roll out a form, send it to all staff to fill and attach their CV/CERTIFICATE. Why should an employee be saying "My certificate is where I worked before" "Do you think I don't have certificate and I am working here" I don't understand why people see this as wrong for asking a presidential candidate, someone who will be the head and rule PHD holders, masters, first class B.sc holders etc to show ordinary WAEC certificate. He doesn't need to be asked, he should just show it and shame critics. Is it not the right thing to do? |
