Science/Technology / Re: Caption This Picture Of A Lion And Bulls by mediainspired: 2:20pm On Apr 03, 2013
Facing your fear with courage & united action.
On a side note, watching Animal Channel & Nat Geo Wild, this is one thing I like about bulls. Of all the preys hunted by lions, they are d only ones dat dare to occasionally challenge dat dominance using their numbers &brute force. They easily expose d cowardice of lions wen dey dare to be courageous. Lions are only bold wen dey attack in numbers or notice d prey is alone. Same wit human oppresors; they too hav deir fears &wil take to their heels once they see their former preys are ready to take d bull by d horn.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Which football club and player do you hate most? by mediainspired: 12:44pm On Apr 02, 2013
Manchester United and Van der Sar (before he retired). He never allows goals in, no matter the trick of the opposing striker. Sometimes i thot he was a 'winch' or uses steroid drugs. Next in line is Rio Ferdinand. My sweet Redds (Never Walk Alone) use to hold d record of England's most successful club b4 Man U took over, cos useless Chelsea & Arsenal culd do nothing to prevent it (weaklings!). I also don't really like Barcelona & Messi cos of their arrogance. I will always root for their opponents to win (except it is Man U or Chelsea) grin angry grin

God is indeed marvelous, especially when it comes to music &tastes. Sometimes, I check &recheck the real meaning of 'music' (same wit d dudes dey call osupa, obesere etc who just fill d air wit a festival of confused, unharmonious beats, lewd women &pure noise; with some people SURPRISINGLY enjoying it).

How hard can it really be to nip this Boko HarM nuisance in the bud? Somebody is not doing his/her job, or is just plain inept. If all hands are on deck, from the president to the security agencies, from operations to intelligence gathering; am pretty sure this menance would have been anihilated, or at worst, crippled by now.

@duality, no matter how mischievous u think some anti-GEJ are getting here on NL, u must also remember that there some truths in them when they become so much. Before u start shifting the blame to the states &LGs, what stops the FG frm publishing the allocation details for the sake of accountability? Then we know who to hold responsible. It's only GEJ &Ngozi that talk about SURE-P to justify their subsidy abracadabra. Mind u, not all anti GEJ sentiments here are by ACN followers or non Niger Deltans. Fact is, this govt's popularity is very, very low.

Is the tongue-in-cheek style of govt minions like awodman, gregg2, taharqa, rosykk, 'sincere' 9grian etc &the rest of their band d modus operandi of GEJ? Wat a poor, pitiable, crippled attempt at propaganda! U guys never get confer with the people's opinion; no matter how honest. Instead u shadow-box with half-truths &outright lies &throw muds when u feel someone has stepped on Jonathan's nerves. If this is the best GEJ can do on social media (which am sure reflects his personality &administrative style), then Nigerians are in for
a rough ride till 2015!

All fg agencies are stained by d grand scale scam: army, police, navy, airforce, nysc, cbn, even efcc. Corruption is their middle name. So who are they trying to impress? Lol, it once happened to me too. Sometimes, it's cos they're trying to sort themselves out with a dying relatnship. At other times, it's just plain female pride mischief. Someone already put it succintly: look out for the one that u're happiest being around. To break it further, stick wit d one dat luvs u as u are &u dont hav to pretend to be somone else. D one dat gently tries to make u a beta person. D one dat occasionally &genuinely asks d welfare of ur parents. D one dat pyshes u towards ur life goals &updates u about hers, &sees both of u as a team working. It's important u make d right choice cos it can foreva make or mar u. Once u are sure she's commited to u, then just simply tell d other ones u got occupied while they were still dilly-dallying, & u dont wanna two-time. They'll accept it wasnt ur fault.

My brother, these days it's not easy identifying with a church that has not bn compromised by the shananigans of the world & 'modernity.' Presently, i profess membership of one of this big, socially-accepted curches, but am beginning to observe hypocrisy & inner-caucus syndrome that is the bane of the larger Nigerian society. Just attend a few around &pray &God wil direct u on a choice. Funny, someone said catholic (Lol, for a serious christian?).

While I wont subscribe to calling the president derogatery names, he has sufficiently convinced me he lacks the courage, sagacity &discretion to correct the well-known ills of the Nigerian society &has woefully failed to seize this chance to etch his name in gold. He has become like the typical African president - pedestrian, myopic, deceptive (always wearing the expression &toga of a humble, man-of-the-people look, while his extravagant wife unmasks his lies) &, very sadly, nepotic (siting several fg parastals in Yenagoa, always talking about 'where I come from' in public speeches, always on his tribal outfit, & now Alams of all people that qualifies for a state pardon?).
Worse, presidential minions here like taharqa &Rossyk will rather hurl insults at citizens demanding accountability &good governance, rather than confer with them &explain some of GEJ's questionable policies. It shows the president's true characters. He is like Saul; initially anointed by God to sanitize the state. But he showed he lacked moral courage, prompting God to anoint a David while he was still king.

@Yield &Yoruba_Omoge, just as many of d ladies on dis forum (including d writer), u are just being d typical African women: talking &acting from sentiment 90% of d time. Why are u attacking pDude's personality (Yield, especially) when, unlike u & d writer (who was mainly vascillating without being specific with examples), he made his points succintly, unsentimentally &logically. Why do women sometimes get into this mode of thinking with their emotions, rather than their head (no matter how literate)? Aaarrggh! Dats why men
just ignore dem sometimes. No wonder yellow journalism newspapers &websites like City People & lindaikeja are a hit wit dem. Guys dey call 'players' also use dis weakness againt dem. The exceptional women are indeed an exception joor. They are such an intellectual beauty.

Seriously, I fail to make real sense of this article. The writer has spoken so much, but SAID LITTLE. She is sure a writer with flair, but she is in need of one more skill: saying more with less words. Back to the subject matter, the writer does not convince me she has a mental problem. I've seen her personality; even worse &they did not reach the same conclusion as her. Psychiatric doctors will always have something to diagnose for everyone that com
es to them. If she insists she has a mental problem, then I insist 90% of Nigerians are mentally ill too. Does she have a nagging issues she's trying to deal with, past or present (like abortion etc)? She did not mention any &yet the women (mostly) here have already become so soapy, spongy &sentimental; just I expected their reaction would be.

For ur info, a news story can be written in 1000 ways & a mischievous &bias 'newspaper' like d Nation can ddcide to skew it to fan Tinubu &ACN interests, &thereby continue to mislead &dogmatise their bands &millions of ethocentric, tribalistic, regional-politics-inclined readers like u. If Channels or Guarduan report d same news, an ubbiased mind wil see d difference in professionalism &objectivity. Seriously, d Nation shudnt be categorized as a professional newspaper.
You mean The Nation put words in his mouth and forced him to go on National TV to express his regrets regarding his shady and dishonest practice?

I seriously dont know why ppl dont bother to check d source of a report, in correlation to d contents of d story to determine d objectivity &veracity of d news & then decide whether to take it serious or not. For example, this 'news' report is by THE NATION, Tinubu's PR proganda paper & their green ACN tales, reporting a PDP story. Go figure, ppl.

This Genevieve Nnaji hype irritates me. I've met most of them one on one on many occasions & trust me, unlike the warm Omoni, down-to-earth Rita Dominic, respectful Ini Edo, your next-door girl, Kate Henshaw or even the Beyonce-wanna-be but friendly Omotola, Genevieve is very snobbish & arrogant (just like most of the saucy girl roles she plays). And this is not just my opinion. It's those who dont know her that hype her.

@OP, first, for d sake of being politically correct & also not to sound too 'spiritual', let us substitute 'The One' with 'Compatible.' Now, there are many signs u shuld be able to intuitively decipher, but d following are incontrovertible:
1. U notice A DEFINITE improvement in d moral quality of ur life & u are a better person, dat is more considerate, patient, mateure in
reasoning etc &other ppl observe it b4 u even do. U also hav d same effect on ur partner.
2. Wit d exception of a couple of foibles or bad habits u need to do away wit, U are very much '@ home' wit him or her & u don't need to try too hard to impress anyone.
3. U're not scared of getting into a permanent union wit dis person or, @ least, u're moderately optimistic.
4.When u're together, sex is d last thing on ur mind cos u guys share so much things together & u both hav so much ideas/values to talk about for d present & future happiness as a couple & for ur unborn kids.

I HOPE THIS HELPS.
May God lead us. Amen

Is it d 5 eastern states, den it wil be a small, landlocked country (dat is if d almost impossible happens &Biafra is reality) like Lesotho or Swaziland inside of South Africa. In 1967! ojukwu coerced Efiks, Ibibios &Ikwerres into his project &called dem 'minority Biafrans.' Today, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Rivers, Bayelsa, Anioma Delta are distinct ppl &can neva be coerced into a project dey ar not convinced about. All this small, splinter 'agitators' shuld stop embarrassing d Igbo wit their futile protests. Wash ur faces free 4rm d dirt of bigotry &ethnocentric tendencies (including all d shortsighted, llogic-stunted Yoruba tribalists here) &look forward to a new &better dispensation in Nigeria.

These minute group of self-professed igbo youth leaders &other tribal agitators for the balkanisation of Nigeria shuld rest their case. Nigeria wil not split; it wil only be reborn thru revolution &her spoilers as u know it today shall be forgotten memory. That aside, tell me which country has forcefully &successfuly broken away 4rm its larger composition in dis century? Wat wit d super hi-tech weapons of war we hav today? If Biafra culdnt do it in 1967 wen d military was more or less in its infancy, wats d guarantee today wit d strongest military in Africa? &by d way, 4d agitators, which states wil make up Biafra cos I know, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers &Edo hav a diffrnt vision of a better Nigeria. Between 1967 &1970, gallant Anioma (Delta Igbo) soldiers led d 1st revolutin &Biafran assault (e.g Nzeogwu, Joe Achuzie), yet d map of Biafra excluded d present Delta state. Nigerian soldiers massacred dem cos of their cousins across d Niger, while Eastern Igbo civillians called dem 'Saboteurs.' Today, som easterners stil discriminate against Aniomas &call dem 'outsiders,' e.g in marriages. These ppl shall not be ur footmats again. Same wit our Ikwerre brothers. No Biafra state. No Oodua State. No Arewa state. Once beaten, twice shy. One better &revolutionised Nigeria, which includes all d present states! Rest ur case, cousins!!!

It's a good time to step up the ante & pick a better mate than he/she eva was, cos u'll suddenly realize u were too good for him/her &had only been pricing urself cheap all d while. But dat is wen U were not d guilty party, in which case karma awaits u somehow, somewhere, someday. It's pity most dont realise how true dis is. BTW, hav u pondered on wat culd possibly be d scandal d former buttler to d pope wanted to reveal, which dey hav now swept under d rug? If there was nothing to hide (like we've always heard about nuns & 'priests'), why didnt dey allow him talk? I'v known some so-called 'priests' & 'fathers' in private wit violent tempers &secret sins, but pretend to be sheep &doves to their followers. Why? U cannot be innately holy except the Spirit of God is in u (born-again). We've heard of revelatns of a Pope that is in hell. BEWARE!!! Dis is both an injuncntn &a warning. Establish a direct relationship wit ur creator, witout any intermediaries (which is idolatory). May God open ur eyes dat u ppl ar in grave error, b4 it!s too late in Jesus' name (Amen). aryzgreat, gree-die, ogasnow, jamp &other catholics on dis thread, let us hear d summary of d Bible: EXCEPT A MAN BE BORN AGAIN, HE CANNOT SEE D KINGDOM OF GOD. Except u are born of the Spirit (genuinely repenting &confessing ur sins to God thru Jesus) &of water (baptism in a river), &u live a holy life, u cannot go to heaven or see God. Stop following doctrines or historical extra teachings of so-called saints. Stick to the Bible. It shuld be ur only standard &reference. Read it urself &clear ur mind of ur 'priest.s' or 'father's' interpretatn. Then d HOLY SPIRIT WIL MINISTER TO U. I keep praying for my catholic friends for God to open their eyes, be born again &become true xtians. One of d devil's greatest tool of deceit in human history is Catholicism (which, in its true sense, is not Christianity, but a cult). Their 'priest' hide Bible truths 4rm dem, &instead teach dem false doctrines &confuse dem by muddlin up &misinterpretin Bible doctrines. Their followers luv it too, cos it's a church of convenience. Wen catholics giv d excuses d 'priests' & 'fathers' confuse dem wit as justificatns 4dere questionable doctrines (confessin to anoda sinful man, idolatory via 'mary' &rosary etc), i shed tears 4dem. They hav very shallow knowledge of d Bible &of God. They're not in God's will
