Car Talk / Re: Is Buying A Car A True Sign Of Success? by mediainspired: 3:46pm On May 11, 2013
Buying a car is not necessarily a sign of success, but mostly a sign u're a focused induvidual. That is if u buy d car out of neccesity &not as a show-off to ladies, plus its a car within ur budget. Someone said if u buy a car, others wont easily help u. Wrong, dude! It depends on d league of biz u're playing in. There are some corporate organisations &big-time benefactors dat wont do biz wit u if u dont hav a car cos they believe u'v not got d level of success/exposure they need to invest in u or buy ur ideas/products (usually in millions or hundreds of thousands). Remember too, SUCCESS ATTRACTS MORE SUCCESS.

While I undastand d OP's situatn & dilemna, it stil does not take away D FACT dat she &her boyfriend hav commited a great sin &stand guilty b4 God. 90% of d comments here, esp by d ladies is a fulfilment of God's words, "For in d last days, iniquity shall abound (increase) &men shall be lovers of demselves more dan lovers of God."
See dem rationalising fornication on d false premise dat "everyone does it in courtship." Really? Cos I dont out of d fear of God, & i know a good numba of ppl who dont. Haul abuses as u want (meanwhile most if dem are fervent churchgoers &even workers), but fornicatn is d worst sin in d Bible cos its a sin against God &ur own body. OP, i wil not mince words, repent of ur sins, make peace wit ur creator first &He wil giv u wisdom on wat to do. It may not even be any of d pieces of advice here.

Why do I get this feeling they would eventually break up? I cant put my finger on it, but somethings dont seem to sit right here. Is it cos they're stil way young & stil starry-eyed? Or the girl's body language show she's just like 40% in & may bolt wen a 'better offer' comes along? Or is it cos she looks older? Cant really say, but I have a hunch & its strong.

Manipulative ladies like the OP and her cheerleaders falsely think women are smarter than men. Pray d guy just wants to let go. Otherwise if a guy realizes your game and decide to get in the groove... OH, LORD HAVE MERCY! U wont even realize it (trust me, guys can be soo smart) u'll rather think he's become soo dumb. Men do their own like a war: first gathering intelligence like SSS and finally executing their vengeance wit a lethal, fatal blow (not physical tho) that might be hard to recover from.
Romance / Re: How I Taught My Boastful Date A Lesson by mediainspired: 3:59pm On May 09, 2013
The self-destructive, selfish and myopic world view of the average Nigerian girl! Pathetic. The OP even has cheerleaders here, who ought to tell her two wrongs dont make a right. Sad, but such narrow-minded guys like the victim (YES, HE'S A VICTIM OF A CRIME THAT BORDERS ON EMOTIONAL MANIPULATION) are the creations of the general perception of guys about women (the immature one's though). Why should he show his card before knowing enuf about d girl? REAL guys even deliberately hide their identity, so he could separate fantasy from reality and know wen a girl is genuine or not.

LADIES WITH THIS CORRUPTED MINDSET SHOULD KNOW THAT WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. Except u genuinely do a turn-around, make the necessary apologies and amendments; retributions always come to haunt eventually someday, somehow, somewhere...

@OP, altho it varies wit men, but I can boldly say dat for d typical Nigerian man, intelligence & beauty don't even come 1st. It's mostly in dis order:

1. CHARACTER
2. SHARED BELIEFS
3. BEAUTY
4. INTELLIGENCE
5. EMOTIONAL MATURITY (How emotionally stable are u or how able are u to take independent decisions &stick wit ur partner on agreed matters witout too much outside influence from friends &families wit selfish motives)
6. CULTURAL DEPTH (i.e how much do u know of d native language, food &how to cook dem, cultural values & idiosyncracies)
7. MENTAL STRENGTH (Yes, d man is d head of d home; but he'll also worry how much u can hold d fort weneva he's away wit regard to child discipline &maintaining order. He'll love to see u maintain a balance wit dat soft, warm feminine side &firmness. Mind u, not rigidity. Dat's masculine & off limit for ladies).

Everyone here, including the poster, could beat about the bush, but u've nailed the point; the truth and nothing but the truth. Marriage is a sacred thing and, I believe, the most important decision a person would ever make is the one they marry. If u make mistakes in job, career, profession, choice of residence, friendship, relationship; somehow u culd still correct them wit time; but a mistake in marriage culd make people miserable in life. D only way out is divorce, which God and the society frowns on. Dat's why I laugh wen som ppl here take d issue of relationship/marriage wit levity and say flippant things like 'just follow ur heart.' Wow! How easy! Somtimes ur heart can be fickle & be confused. Think, seek counsel and involve God. All that glitters is not gold; and pre.cious stones are often buried in rubble. Ur fickle eyes and heart may not see it (except u're really deep and perceptive)

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Luis Suarez Banned For 10 Games For Biting Ivanovic by mediainspired: 3:45pm On Apr 24, 2013
The British press hates Suarez and has been hounding him for a while, making a mountain out of a molehill as a far as Luis is involved. And u wonder why? Is it becos Suarez is sooo talented and better than the the best English player that they overhype (e.g. Carrick, Lampard) and could become a legend and so the British press is jealous? U influenced the FA to ban him for 10 matches 2 seasons ago and that cost Liverpool the league shield, as their darling Man U captured it again to overtake the Kop's 19 titles.

Now another 10 matches ban? Is this not plain racism? Suarez should just quit British football and go to La Liga, Bundes liga or Serie A.

Religion / Re: Was The Sacrifice Of Jesus On The Cross That Big A Deal? by mediainspired: 2:57pm On Apr 23, 2013
I never believed the day would come in my lifetime when a Nigerian would become reprobate and deny the existence of God (even though they hide behind anonymous platforms like Nairaland). Although the poster and his band of blasphemers in the early posts are obviously wallowing in the cesspool of d devil's grand deceptions (which is a fulfilment of a Bible prophesy:

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."

I will attempt some answers.
1. God created man (Adam) in His own image, not knowing good or evil; but that he lost that nature when they ate the forbidden fruit. Remember it was after that they realise they were naked (which is d knowledge of good and evil). Only children are comfortable walking around naked becos until they reach the sinful nature of knowing good and evil (at around 10). If they die at that innocent stage then they go to heaven even without repenting. Remember Christ said the kingdom of heaven is filled with people with the innocent spirit of children?

2. Who will reconcile man to God. Initially (d old testament), d blood of animals were used (muslims still practice this); but it cannot really cleanse ur nature. It was only a divine being, who had to be become part-human (but not corrupted with by conception thru d natural order of male-female copulation). Anyone else who died or suffered is human. Only d sacrifice of Jesus Christ was acceptable because He doesn't have our nature and is Holy before God.

3. That's why we confess our sins and ask God to forgive us THROUGH JESUS CHRIST ONLY. We also pray thru jesus Christ. Anyone else including Mary is human and doing it through them is idolatory (Catholism is one of the greatest deceptions of history). When u do it sincerely (no one can fool God), God accepts and gives u His new spirit and nature (I felt it a long time ago. It's d most beautiful thing ever!). U feel new, find it easy practice good and shun evil. U can't force it cos it's supernatural. Unfortunately, so many churchgoers equate it to just attending church or being a worker!

4. Lastly, my dear ones, KNOW THIS "If in this life only YOU HAVE HOPE (rich, beautiful, successful etc), then YOU are of all men MOST MISERABLE.

5. My last line becos I did this as a youth:

"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."

Check out this cheeky, brazen comment by Shekau: "On the contrary, it is we that should grant you [a] pardon."
Politics / Nigeria's Boko Haram Rejects Jonathan's Amnesty Idea by mediainspired: 10:56am On Apr 11, 2013
The Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram has rejected the idea of an amnesty.
Last week President Goodluck Jonathan asked a high level team to look into the possibility of granting the militants a pardon.

The announcement was made via an audio statement believed to be from the group's leader Abubakar Shekau.
In recent years Boko Haram has carried out a campaign of violence across northern and parts of central Nigeria killing at least 2,000 people.

The group says its members are fighting to create an Islamic state in Nigeria's predominantly Muslim north.
Mr Shekau said his group had done no wrong and so an amnesty would not be applicable to them.
It was the Nigerian government that was committing atrocities against Muslims, he said.

"Surprisingly, the Nigerian government is talking about granting us amnesty. What wrong have we done? On the contrary, it is we that should grant you [a] pardon," AFP news agency quotes him as saying in the Hausa language audio recording.
BBC Nigeria correspondent Will Ross says that northern religious and political leaders have been urging President Jonathan to grant an amnesty to the militants as they say the army's response to the insurgency is not bringing peace.
The amnesty panel was set up by the president last week and includes senior military representatives, presidential sources said.

The move surprised many as President Jonathan had dismissed the idea of amnesty and dialogue, our reporter says.
In 2009, then-Nigerian President Musa Yar Adua granted an amnesty to thousands of militants wreaking havoc in the oil-rich Niger Delta in the south.

The violence fell dramatically but there are worrying warnings of further unrest in the Delta, analysts say.

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? WHAT A POLITICAL GAFFE BY GEJ!

New researches have proven that the new media (social network), plus hi-tech gadgets like ipad, iphone, blackberries etc have replaced real social relationship, intimacy and friendships. Now, everybody can sit behind a laptop or type from their hi-tech gadgets and chat with thousands of their e-friends on facebook, twitter, nairaland; but at same not having the benefit of the soul and essence of friendship. Look around you & u'll see practically everyone either face-down on a computer, blackberry or ears shut with an earphone listening to music.

In this modern times, aside your immediate family members and relations, everyone is shut off from the rest of the world and their lives circulate around e-friends; whose personality or xter you cannot really assess because on social networks ppl put up a public face (mostly nice-guy but unreal personality).

A quick check: when was the last time you had a nice social outing with your group of friends? Or how many of your e-friends are your REAL friends you've interacted wit physically?

SUMMARY: Wit modernity and the new media, MORE E-FRIENDS, BUT LESS REAL FRIENDS. MORE ACTIVITY &BUZZ ON LAPTOP AND HI-TECH GADGETS, BUT LESS ACTIVITY & LONELINESS IN REAL LIFE

A typical 'Nollywood 'Áction' film, reeking of gun-totting juveniles, unreal-looking crime lords, & EXCESS, EXCESS, EXCESS of an orgy of blood, violence and SMG gunshots (to cover up for the film's shortcomings); but DESPERATELY LACKING CONTENT! All through, I couldn't grasp even a hint of a moving storyline, just the sound of rataratatap everywhere and blood (how sooo unreal!). Some people were even moving about in shops and selling while all the 'shooting'was going on.

Is this America (their action films dont even have this excess eyesore of blood &violence) or are we still in Nigeria? What's the plot, script or storyline? That is the bane of Nollywood. You think to write a quality, creative piece is mai-mai? Nollywood producers/directors/actors should stick to their craft and commission scriptwriting to the professionals - and I'm not talking about their brothers, relations, quacks and wannabes that hang around movie shoot sites. Just tell the pros your concept and pay the professional fee
